5 Stars: Great wedding cake - Even 1 year later! (by Lisa K.)

My husband and I just celebrated our one-year anniversary this past Sunday, and as is tradition, we had a piece of the top tier of our wedding cake that had been frozen since after our wedding. It was DELICIOUS! We both could not get over how great it tasted. Everyone loved the cake on our wedding day and we were able to share it again with friends a year later and they all commented on how great it tasted. I think it says a lot when a cake can taste so good even after a year in the freezer.

5 Stars: Beautiful and Delicious Wedding Cake (by Christina M.)

I chose Romano's Bakery after looking/tasting several other places around town. I chose them, because their cakes fit my top three requirements: moist cake, delicious and creamy icing, and the style and look I wanted. Theirs were by far better than the competition.

They had a very nice show room, where I could see lots of different types of cakes. I also got to taste at least 5 different kinds - my fiancee and I had trouble deciding because they were all so tasty. We went with the white chocolate, and ordered a 5 tier wedding cake, as well as a delicious chocolate groom's cake (with chocolate covered strawberries).

The day of the wedding, they showed up on time, and looked perfect! Exactly what we wanted. They were so good that our 200 guests devoured them both, and we barely made it out of there with the top tier to save! :-)

Overall, we had a great experience and I would recommend them to anyone.

5 Stars: Great Cakes for Special Occasions (by Marcia D.)

I am so glad I discovered Romano's Bakery! The party cake for my 50th birthday was fabulous! It was not only a top-notch eye-catching design, but it was also moist and delicious. When planning my parents 65th wedding anniversary party, I naturally chose that special cake from Romano's. Since my parents did not have a real wedding cake 65 years ago, I ordered one for their anniversary. Again, it was expertly decorated and a dream come true. All the guests raved about how delicious it was. We have also used Romano's for graduations and showers. You can always trust Romano's to come through for your special occasions!!

5 Stars: Wedding cake (by Michelle M.)

When I went to Romano's, I had already looked at several othe bakerys for my wedding cake. Romano's was well set up so I could see many cake models and pictures to form my idea of what I wanted. The staff was super friendly and worked well with my schedule. The cake tasting appointment was very much about what I wanted and they helped me come up with some great ideas. I was able to sample so many flavors and the cake was so moist, like it was just made!
At the wedding I recieved so many compliments on the cake and to this day people still ask me where i got my cake from. I would reccomend Romanos to anyone, not just for a wedding cake but for cute party cakes too!

5 Stars: Best. Cake. Ever. (by Jessica W.)

I got my wedding cake from Romano's and it was AMAZING. When my then-fiancee and I went in for a tasting, we were a little overwhelmed by the size of the display room and the variety of styles to choose from. I didn't really have a clear "vision" of what I wanted, but the staff was very patient and helpful, and we eventually decided on a 3-tier cake with fondant leaves in fall colors (I had a fall-themed wedding). Then, we went on to the tasting. The slices of cake are minuscule, but you'll be glad for that when you're done - we must've tried 20 or 30 flavors. Each bite is enough to get an idea for the flavor, and at the end, I was completely stuffed. Don't eat lunch before you go or you'll regret it!

We ordered my cake in White Chocolate, and it was so, so delicious. The groom's cake also came from Romano's and was a raspberry cheesecake. It was absolutely heavenly.

The cakes arrived without a hitch, and they were gorgeous. Everyone kept commenting on how beautiful my wedding cake was. It was simple, elegant, and just breathtaking. I couldn't have been happier. And so yummy! In fact, we should've ordered larger cakes. We went with the usual guidelines in estimating our cake-to-guest ratio, and it ALL got eaten! Even the plate of cake my maid of honor had set aside for me got snatched up! In fact, the only cake my husband and I had at our wedding was the little bite you feed each other at the cake cutting. We even served the top tier you're supposed to keep for your anniversary. People kept saying, "I don't usually like wedding cake, but this is soooo gooooood!!!" as they'd pick up their second (or third!) piece. It was really funny, and it sort of became a running joke at the wedding. So, yeah. Don't order conservatively.

We're coming up on our 1 year anniversary now, and since we didn't get to save that top tier, I called Romano's and asked if they could make me one... They said it's no problem! They're making me a little 6-in cake in White Chocolate. We'll eat it this weekend and I'm sure it will be as delicious as I remember.

1 Stars: Total disappointment (by Tara F.)

Don't trust Romanos Bakery with an event as important as your wedding. You will be disappointed. They were provided with pictures of exactly what I wanted and color swatches of very light green-honeydew melon to be used as accent colors. They sent over a forest green cake that was very poorly decorated. It looked like they let a three-year-old sling icing on my cake. There was a huge thumb-print right in the front center of my cake and other fingerprints all over. It looked terrible. It was supposed to look like fondant and it didn't come close. I got my money back, but the damage was done. All of my reception pics have this ugly cake in them. I couldn't have been more disappointed. Brides Beware!

1 Stars: Extremely Disappointed (by jo l.)

I went to grab a few slices of cake to try before setting a tasting appointment. The place looked big on the outside then you get inside and see a HUGE wedding cake display room and a miniature bakery counter. The wedding cake room was quite impressive to see all the different ways they can make cakes. I happened to walk in during a cake tasting too. They had only miniature little cake bites to try. It looked too dinky a bite to make an actual choice on when you have so many different kinds. No wonder it's hard to decide.

Well I interrupted the lady to help me a second. I had called that morning to find out if they only did wedding cakes and I was told they did any occasion cakes, cookies and is a regular bakery. I was disappointed to see they had only brownies and a few different cakes to choose from. No cookies were even on display for me to take. Since she was busy I didn't bother if they had more in back or something. So I chose a few cake slices and a few brownies.

I got in the car and the brownies were pretty good. I tried the cake later on. I have never had such hard cake. It tasted like 2 week old cake. The cake was chewy and crunchy and this was a regular german chocolate cake. I have kept cakes to eat over a week's period and they've never tasted like that before. The other slices tasted less crunchy, but still. I've had more moist cakes from Kroger and that's not saying much. Even if the cake was fresh, the cake just didn't taste any more amazing than if I'd gone to Kroger.

In the end, I ordered my wedding cake from Panini's Bakery on Sherry Lane. The best cake I've had in town. Check them out.

4 Stars: Best Bakery Around (by Nancy B.)

For our wedding reception, I wanted quality, but we were on a tight budget. I saw Romanos Bakery many times, when I was in the area. Before visited the bakery, I went on their website: www.romanosbakery.com. I found that they do wonderful work, and they deliver!!! They have many flavors, decorations, occasions to chose from. We just walked in, and she gave use their cake portfolio to look through, and she spent about an hour or so, just asking us what WE wanted... We tasted samples, and we were able to pick what cakes, that best fit our budget, and wedding. If you are going to have any event, birthday, retirement, anniversary, baby shower, etc. Use them for any occassion, they will not disappointment you.

5 Stars: A wonderful choice for a wedding (by Brandy R.)

I purchased my wedding cake from Romanos. My fiance and I visited for a tasting and were treated like royalty. We were seated at a lovely table and plied with multiple slices of cake. All were delicious, making our final choice difficult. Our cake was gorgeous, delicious and delivered and set up in plenty of time. Follow their instructions to keep the top layer and you will have cake just as delicious on your one year anniversary - guaranteed. They will actually make you another if it isn't just as good on your anniversary as the day of your wedding!

PROS: Classy, fairly priced, great service, delicious
CONS: They are all so good it is hard to choose!

4 Stars: Great bakery with beautiful cakes (by Nancy R.)

I've had several cakes from Romanos Bakery. They made a beautiful polka-dotted birthday cake for my mother's 60th birthday. It was a delicious and pretty cake.

I've also had their Italian cream cakes, as well as their coconut cake. I would recommend this bakery to anyone needing a cake for a special occasion, or just a special treat!
