I just had my hair done last week and I can honestly say the color is the best I have ever had. Casey took the time to make sure every strand of grey was covered and it looks more attractive and natural than it has in years. He is an artist!

I was referred to Casey by my daughter who used his services for a while with great satisfaction from every aspect of a hair do. Casey is sooo good and passionate about what he does I didn't have to tell him what I wanted. He is very good at matching the hairstyle/color with facial features and personality. I have been three times so far and he already fixed the mistakes in my hair cut and I love the color (he mixed three colors). I can recommend CASEY with confidence.

I am thrilled I found Casey!!!

When I walked into SOK, I was upset because I had gotten a horrible haircut. I have long hair and it was chopped up so badly!! Casey took his time with me, he first straightened my hair with a hair straightener so he could see exactly what was going on, and he went over my hair so precisely making sure that each strand of my hair was cut perfectly. I have so many compliments on my hair now. He really is the BEST stylist I have ever had and I only go to high end salons. I will never use anyone else! He is the best!

I've been going to see Casey since I moved to Houston a year ago. Casey has taken my crazy curly black hair & turned me into a sleek fabulous redhead. I've gone from wearing my hair pulled back into a pony tail because it was unmanageable to getting piles of compliments and being proud of my hair !
Casey has a great eye for color and know exactly what will suit both your skin tone and personality. I now love my color and the cut makes my hair look amazing, I wouldn't consider going anywhere else and would recommend Casey to anyone.

Alden makes SOK Salon special because of the person and professional that he is. He truly cares about his clients and does so much in the community to help those who suffer with breast cancer, having walked this walk with many of his clients and friends. His artistic hand is at work in the warm and current decor as well as on your head. SOK is an "experience" as much as it is a pleasure.

I have never been a "high maintenance" kind of girl - generally don't style my hair, wear makeup or shoes other than clogs. I met Alden through other parts of our lives, enjoyed our friendship and decided to give him the challenge of a lifetime.

Alden has taken me from totally giving up on my hair (ponytails, scrunchies and clippies) to being proud of my hair. I still don't always style my hair, but my cut looks great in both the low and high maintenance versions. My color is always noted and complimented.

Made appt at SoK based on city search reviews and was lucky enough get Andrew as my stylist...Having naturally curly hair, but prefer to wear it straight, always makes me nervous when I go to a new salon but Andrew made feel comfortable and my hair came out awesome. Everyone was friendly and I enjoyed the wine :-)

I've been going to Casey for over a year now after reading great reviews about him on Citysearch. Let me tell you, I have NOT been disappointed. I first came to him already very blonde but my cut and style were very blah. After the first appointment, I received so many compliments on my hair. He knows what style will work and what won't for you based on the shape of your face, your coloring, and how much time you spend on it each day. He made my hair color really stand out because he used several different colors that made it seem so bright but very natural at the same time.

Recently, he's been educating himself further on progressive coloring techniques for blondes. For example, I always part my hair on the side, and he knows where exactly to begin the highlights based on my part. I just went this past week and my hair came out looking fabulous! Of course it wasn't a surprise, he always makes it look great.

The salon is also very nice. You're offered water, wine, beer, or mimosas when you walk in, and everyone who works there is very friendly. The energy is very calming because of the color scheme of green and white, and the floor to ceiling windows.

I'll go here as long as SOK is in business, and I will always go to Casey!

I tried Andrew based on previous Citysearch reviews. I wasn't unhappy with my current cut/color/stylist...just no longer blown away. He took what I had and improved on it...better color, easier to work with and style. I have naturally curly hair but like to wear it both straight and curly; he improved upon my current cut AND made it easier to style. Give him a try; you won't be disappointed!

P.S. - He may or may not be related to the lead singer of Maroon 5. My jury is still out... ;)

So I am always very hesitant to let someone new cut/style my hair. I have to have been referred to you by someone I know, or seen someone's hair that the stylist has done... Well in this case it was both. I almost regret moving away from Houston because I am afraid I just found the perfect stylist! Andrew was friendly, asked what I wanted, and mastered just that X 10. I would highly recommend any and everyone visit SOK and ask for Andrew. SOK also has a great vibe/atmosphere, including all of the clientele.

Marisa is FABULOUS! Her cuts and color are amazing! She definitely has an eye for what will work best for you! I moved to Houston from San Diego 8 months ago and have never been to another salon in Houston other than SOK. Everyone is the salon is so friendly, so different than any Cali salon you'll go to!

My experience at Salon on Kirby was great and I wanted to let some other people in on it. I went to get my haircut by May the first time a couple months ago. She listened to my concerns about hair, made some suggestions, and gave me the best scalp massage and facial, followed by the best haircut I have ever had. I just went for my second haircut last week and it was just as good an experience as the first time. I also had a beer when I got my haircut, which is more than I ever got any other place. It really is good value for the money and May is really good.

I've been going to SOK for a year now after finding it on Citysearch. Casey had a lot of good reviews so I thought I would give him a try and I have been so happy with my hair ever since. Whenever I get a cut with Casey, I just tell him what I want to be able to do (lifestyle) and he gives me a stylish and easy to care for cut. He considered the texture of my hair and the shape of my face and always creates flattering styles that look good for weeks after and grow out well. I can't recommend Casey enough! I get so many compliments on my hair now!
The salon itself is easy to get to and has a professional and friendly staff. They don't have attitude like the staff at many more upscale salons and are very accommodating. I've never bought products there but they sell a wide variety of Kerastase and B&B (Bumble and Bumble) products.
I would recommend this salon to anyone who wants a great cut that LASTS at a great price. Casey is a very capable stylist with an innate sense of what works for his clients.

This is a "real review" as I am sure they all are. Trisha has been my stylist for years. I would not consider going to anyone else. Everywhere I go I get comments on my haircolor! I love having someone that can give me great color and an easy to maintain haircut that suits my style. Go see Trisha you will not be disappointed!

She's great always listens to what I want, never just does what she wants, which is important in a hairstylist, not only is she great she's also SOKs Bumble&Bumble educator...her prices are reasonable...try her out, with her experience and education you will not be Disapppointed!

As a walk-in, I expected to be treated as fresh meat. Not at all! I was welcomed and offered a beverage while I waited. The stylist I was assigned was very friendly and the conversation was great. I got a fantastic head massage in their AMAZING shampoo chairs. My stylist, Marissa, really listened to what I wanted and the issues I'd been having with my hair. She made it PERFECT!! I LOVE IT!! I will go back to SOK forever!

I have been going to SOK for years and I just love the new salon they have built off the southwest fwy and the team at SOK. The salon manager Tim has done a great job making sure your greeted with a smile and cool beverage. The new atmosphere is GREAT it is open and everyone that works there always has a smile on their faces. A great team of talented stylists.

When you move to a new city, there are always two things you must find, a mechanic and a stylist - With curly hair, I am always very anxious when trying a new salon and stylist, because the color would be slightly off or the hairstyle and cut would never look the same the next day (or even a few hours later in this humidity). Andrew did a wonderful job with putting my fears behind me. I walked out of the salon loving my hair and the expierence I had at SOK. The color has never looked better and with the cut he gave me, my curls have life, and i'm able to style my hair with a lot more ease. The whole salon was so welcoming and homey, even with the industrial look to it. Totally lacking in the corporate coldness that you get in other places, Andrew and SOK have given me a new place to be pampered! Thank you Andrew!!

They came up with a plan for what I was wanting and we made goals to get there. I will admit while I was being shampooed I did fall asleep with the shampoo chair that massaged me and the stylist massaged my head. I was in HEAVEN! They had to wake me up to and I know it was only 10 mins while they shampooed me but WOW I felt so pampered. I didn't to go when my appointment was over; I was having such a great time. I just went to Salon on Kirby and I really liked this salon. It is nice, clean, and very trendy. My new stylist is May and she was great, really friendly and did exactly what I wanted her to do with my hilites. I think they specialize in hilites, everyone there seemed to be getting some. I also got a mimosa when I was sitting with my color on, which is fantastic! The atmosphere is very cool too and the shampooing chairs massage you which I loved!

Jerrid is fabulous! I got the best cut ever! He is very nice and listens to your conserns. He also gives great suggestions and is right on. He is great with color. I am very happy with my hair and will definitely go back. The prices are not cheap but very reasonable. The cost is definitely worth the quality.

I will never go to any other hairdresser in this city! Jerrid's company alone is an experience in itself. Not only do you get a great conversation, you also get a sense of clarity when he is talking to you about your color/cut. I am very new to Houston, and I am very glad I found my guy on the first try. I was having so much trouble with my haircolor, no one could get it right. I was bouncing around to some of the "high end" salons in town, spending a alot of money on corrective color a was never happy until my sister came home with this awsome color from Jerrid. I immediately made an appointment ,and I too got the same amazing job. Ladies....make your appointments! Jerrid your the best. Thank you

I went to see May after doing extensive research on citysearch for a stylist. Let me tell you, this girl can do hair! I just moved from out of town and was terrified to get my hair done by a different stylist. I have long, blonde hair and it seems to be a challenge to get it the way I want, but May nailed it! I went to work and everyone noticed that I looked good, they didn't know why, but it was my hair! It had subtle lowlite she put in it, saying that it would make my blonde look better and it totally did! GO SEE MAY! She really really is so good. I have already seen so many girls in my office that are going to see her too. She also put a treatment in my hair that felt so nice as well. Ask for the K treatment ( can't remeber the product name, but it was really good, s tarted with a k).

Andrew is such a pro, I was so impressed. What a miracle worker! He turned my nightmare, damaged, overly processed and brassy hair color into a sparkling natural looking blonde. The difference is astounding. Hard work, but Andrew made it look so easy. He really took the time and energy to not only listen to what I wanted but to figure out what color would truly look great. Andrew is so talented at styling. He was able to really get the most out of my curly hair. The atmosphere at SOK is hip, yet friendly and wonderfully unpretentious. What a great experience! Highly recommended!

1) Marissa is awesome - I'll never go to anybody else
2) The new salon is cool - upscale and has a good vibe
3) The music in the new salon is pretty bad. They appear to be going for an upscale / hip vibe, but the music is boring and lame.

just got my hair done at this salon! I was very impressed by the dedication and skill of my hairdresser. Her name was Marisa and she was amazing! I was completely satisfied with the end result! I spent some money but it was well worth it. I will definitely be returning to her.

I LOVE THIS HAIRSTYLIST! My hair has never looked better! I am not an easy customer to please, and may nailed my blonde! She did an amazing number of hilites, practically every hair was in a foil, and she gave me a layered cut with side bangs and I love it! She is so nice and sweet and she explained everything she was going to do and I felt so comfortable! And I even had a mimosa when I was processing. If you have not been able to find a stylist that can please you, GO SEE MAY! She moved here not too long ago and I would advise you to get in to see her before she gets crazy busy, because she will! She is THAT good!

This kid has talent! Roy did my color the other day and it was awesome. He put on a base color and hilites and it was the prettiest color I have ever had. I am a picky girl, and this color looks so great. Go to see Roy, you will not be dissappointed. The price is good too, I have been to other salons in the area and have not been as pleased only to pay a rediculous amount of money for the services.

My highlights are wonderful. With summer upon us, I needed to brighten my look up so May gave me some natural highlights. I wanted to look as though I was sunkissed and she achieved this look for me. I am so excited about my hair and I can't wait to see May when I get back from my trip.

I just had a haircut and color with Roy, and it was fantastic! He is so personable and had great ideas for my new layers. I have never had layers before and he cut them in and I love it. The products he used made my hair feel so great too, definitely go to Roy, he is an amazing stylist!

After searching for a hair salon in Houston, I am so glad I went with SOK. Upon entering the salon I was warmly greeted and offered a beverage. The overall atmosphere was very friendly and the salon was decorated beautifully. I immediately felt comfortable.

Andrew was my stylist and she was super sweet and very talented. I got an all over color, highlights, Kerastase treatment, haircut, and style. The price was very reasonable and the quality was extraordinary. My hair has never felt better, thanks to Andrew and Kerastase, and I can't wait to return for my next appointment!

Roy gave me a haircut that was longer on one side than on the other. I went in to have it fixed but still walked out with it a little longer on one side than the other. He couldn't see it for some reason, and I didn't feel like fighting it anymore.
He was very nice about the whole thing but has the air (and somewhat, the skills) of a beginner.
The price--$65--is ridiculous for the haircut I got. (The price is a little ridiculous anyway.)

I looove getting my hair done here. Marisa is totally professional, upbeat and easygoing. She works with my hairs natural texture and always gives me a great cut. She also explains what products she's using and why so I can make my hair look almost as good as she does. Whether you want something edgy or more natural she can give you great results.

My hair has a mind of its own, When it grows it becomes unmanagable. I tried many stylist but nothing changed. My hair will grow wild and in any direction. I thought I have to live with an unmanagable hair. I tried Salon on Kirby and Roy was my stylist and gave me the best hair cut I ever had. Roy suggested some products to use on my hair and they helped a lot. It has been 3 weeks now and my hair looks just fine. Thanks Roy for a great hair cut, great experience and great advise on hair products.

All i have to say is CASEY CASEY CASEY!!!! That man knows how to work wonders like it's no ones business and does it in a swift, and very professional manner. I'm a celebrity in the Houston GLBT community so my hair always has to look on point. I had got tired of wearing wigs and wanted to do something with my own hair that had grown to a lenght that i believed to be manageable. So one blessed day i stopped by the salon, and when i walked in the door my hair look like i had been run-over my a metro bus! But Casey was more then happy to help me with my hair crisis and reassured me the whole time through that i would love the final result. An hour and a half later i was weaved up and tracked out like it was nobodies business. Everywhere i go everyone wants to know who did my hair and all i can tell them is one of gods little secrets! Thank you soooooo much Casey for the dramatic transformation from a woman into a DIVA! Love you MILLIONS!

Roy is an amazing stylist. I saw him last week for color and a cut. I love it. I feel wonderful, I keep getting compliments its a great feeling. His personality is so warm and inviting and he always made sure I was ok on my beverage. I love what he did. I just got my hair done at SOK and MAy was my stylist.All i can say that she is the best . She listened to what i wanted, and did a great job(highlits and style).May was great ,,,i will defentely be back with her next time!!!! she not only doe a great job,but her personality is great too,and makes you feel so comfortable. Roy is such an exceptional hairstylist! I went in for color, which he was able to make a really pretty auburn color, and the cut, which he was able to create into a really cute bob. I left very happy with my hair and I also bought product, which I almost never do, because Roy explained how to use them and what the benefit would be to my hair. Thanks again Salon on Kirby and I will definitely be back soon!
Go to Roy, you will not be disappointed!
