Dr. Macdonald I can see his dog truck in my head. He was a life saver in my books it was time to call it quits to many doctor appointments he needed to concentrate on HIMSELF. He had a pic of all the a&M guys that lost their lives (which happened to be one of the kids I got 1 of my cats from lost his life in the Bonfire) a coincidence. Well take care everyone we will e seeing you around Dr. MacDonalds,

Just went to work in Dallas and needed a good reasonable vet close by the office for emergencys. At home I drive 65 miles to find what I call a good vet, and have been involved with AKC champion dogs for 30 yrs so trust me I know a good one from a crook. Dr Woods has replaced Dr MacDonald who retired.
I found him compassionate and gentle, very competent, but conservative in treatment without over reacting. Above all extremely reasonable in prices. Now the clinic is not fancy and in an old neighborhood, so if you are looking for fancy artwork and cushy chairs it is not for you. BUT this is one I would drive extra for to get more bang for my buck and care you can trust in!

Dr. Macdonald has treated four of my dogs. He is a Texas A & M alum who gives of himself to each and every creature. His wealth of experience pours out in common language that all pet owners can understand. Dr. Macdonald is a testament to an older, simpler, kinder world of sincere caring and deep committment. His fees permit people to give care to their animals that would otherwise not be within reach. He is a great model for our children and a great friend to all living things.

Yes he is in a bit of a rough part of town and yes the office is not gleaming or new. So what! He truly cares about animals and undercharges so no one has an excuse not to care for their pets. I was quoted $550 for an operation at Park Cities Animal Hospital (I shudder to think what Lovers Lane would have charged) that was $100 here. My cat pills are $80 for a 3 month supply here, the same ones at Park Cities were $235!

The picture on the wall of an older gentleman is not his father but of the famous author vet from England James Herriot!! He went several times and did rounds with him. His assistant Maria is wonderful too ...unfortunately some folks take advantage of Dr. MacDonald's kindness. Take your pet and tell your friends about an animal's best friend that is not performing unnecessary surgery or procedures and is not only great to your animals but unbelievable kind to your pocketbook.

PROS: Very Inexpensive, Very kind, your animals Best Friend..Very Experienced
CONS: Older office..not the newest stuff but a great vet!!

Don't be put-off by the location of this clinic or by its small size; Dr. Mac knows his stuff. He really does remind you of a small-town vet. Age is catching up with him, but he still manages to care for your animals as you would, and he is known for rescuing strays and unwanted animals and finding them good homes. He's also a die-hard Aggie!
