I've spent a ton of money b/c I just love the clothes and shoes. Such great deals to be found! I've been going to Goodie Two Shows for years and never had the pleasure of meeting owner Christine Ann.
Until today. I went in, found some great shoes, petted the golden retriver and started browsing clothes. I then went to the changing room. Christine Ann said something about my purse needing to be left outside of the stall.
I balked a minute -- I'd just cashed my paycheck and didn't like the idea of it being parted from me. I've had money stolen before while shopping. I asked her when they had changed the policy, thinking it was strange as I was in the store as recently as two weeks before and nothing was said then. She went off, ranting about tags and hangers being on the floor from people shoplifting her clothes. She claimed she was being sued for discrimination because of her policy so she couldn't just let me have my purse (I had never asked for this). She started in on big bags -- my bag was not that big and completely full.
She then took my clothes and said she didn't want to sell them to me. When I asked her why, she started again on the discrimination suit, then said I was rude to question her policy and if I didn't want to put my purse behind the counter, I could leave. Fine. I apologized profusely, mentioned again I'd been coming to the store for years, & recommended it constantly & couldn't understand why she was so mad. I said I was sorry again and asked if I could purchase the shoes I already had at the counter. I was told no, so I left.
I never raised my voice to her, was never rude. I work in retail myself -- I understand having a bad day, but taking out your aggro on your customers is not cool. This is the worst shopping experience I've ever had in any store. No pair of shoes is worth putting up with a terrible attitude. No wonder she is being sued. If she treated that woman the way she treated me, I've no doubt she'll lose her case.
Pros: The shoes. The prices. the sales. But they aren't worth it.
Cons: The owner is extremely rude. To the point of being sued, apparently. I won't ever go back.
