Dr. Scaggs and her staff take pride in building relationships that put her patients at ease. Patient care and satisfaction are their primary concerns. Dr. Scaggs is one of only 26 Texas dentists inducted as a Fellow into the Academy of General Dentistry in 2006. She specializes in family and cosmetic dentistry, offering an array of services from gentle cleanings, to nightguards, to ZOOM! teeth whitening. "It is our belief that dentistry should be easy to understand so you can be confident when making decisions about your dental health," Dr. Scaggs said. "You'll notice the difference as our attentive, caring staff works with you to create an individualized preventative and restorative plan for your treatment." Dr. Scaggs will spend time discussing what you find to be a pleasing smile and how she can create that for you.
Dr. Scaggs has made my smile so beautiful with my new bridges. I am more confident and no longer hide my smile w/my hand. Thank you for doing such a great job. You are the best dentist around.

Dr. Scaggs is great. My family of five has been going to her for years. She is fantastic with kids and adults. The office staff is pleasant and professional. She is an excellent and gentle dentist. Everything is very clean. We never are left waiting. The scheduling process is very accommodating when I'm trying to schedule all three kids at once. It's actually a relaxing experience, and when we need work done - we know it is done with excellence. I'm glad she is our dentist.

I will start by saying that her hygienists did an acceptable job cleaning my teeth. I had my teeth cleaned two times at Dr Scaggs office.
Dr Scaggs was listed as an in network dentist for me so I am only responcable to pay for my co-pay, and my insurance would cover the rest. Not once but both times I went in for my cleaning I received a letter in the mail stating that I owed money for the cleaning over my co-pay amount. What happened was that I was being billed for the Dr.?s ?write off? amount, the amount above what the insurance company has contractually agreed to pay the doctor. Thankfully, I figured out that they were billing me incorrectly, but I am fearful that they are scamming other people who may not totally understand medical billing out of money. I let it slide the first time, and just chocked it up to an honest mistake. But after receiving an incorrect bill after my second cleaning, I decided to find a new Dentist. If they will do this to me twice, who else would this happen to?
My other concern with her practice is how much you are pressured into having tests that are unnecessary. The hygienist gave me a speech about the importance of having a ?mouth cancer screening?, and that it would only be $60. When I explained that I am a 24 year old, who has never smoked or chewed tobacco, and thought that the test was unnecessary, I was lectured on how I should get the screening anyways, and when I refused I was forced to sign a waiver.
Maybe it is just my experiences with this doctor; I bet other people have had good ones. I just can tell you that I will NEVER go back to her practice again.
Pros: Did a good job on a cleaning
Cons: unnecessary tests, billing issues
