Golden China is tasty!
by Steve G.
Tried Golden China for the first time tonight, ordered delivery. Some of the best Chicken Chow-Mein I have had in a long time! I will order from them again I am sure. :)

I have never had their buffet, but have ordered take out twice since it is close to my house. Each time just got worse. The last time even the fried rice was nasty.

Great Buffet

Golden China on Teasley and I-35 has a large buffet
with a large assortment on items. Some of these items include
great egg rolls, lemon chicken , both steamed and fried rice, wontons,
and pot stickers, sesame chicken, and many other items. Great
place for family dinning with all the different items on the buffet.
After you finish trying all the yummy entree items it is time to move on to
the desserts. Their prices are very reasonable. So go try Golden
China Restuarant it great.

Golden China offers your standard Chinese buffet varitey including fried rice, steamed rice, egg rolls, mushrooms, sesame chicken, and other Asian delicacies which fill the void for Oriental cravings. The buffet price is reasonable - around $6 excluding a drink.
I was disappointed that they do not offer boiled shrimp as part of the buffet. One of my favorites is the meat pastries (can't remember what they are called) near the wontons. the spicy beef pastry is yummy! Overall, a good dining experience for a family. My son really enjoyed it and followed it up with a various dessert, inlcuding ice cream.
Conveniently located in the Brookshire's strip center off Teasley, Golden China is worth the trip for a quick lunch.

We went to this restaurant on a recent Monday evening, shortly after it opened for dinner. The buffet looked pretty good, but the food was some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The lo mein noodles were over-cooked and tasted fishy, the sesame chicken was tough and stringy; overall, the food was very unappealing. Between the two of us, my husband and I sampled nearly everything on the buffet in an attempt to find something edible, but with the exception of the sweet and sour chicken - which was alright but certainly nothing to write home about - everything we tried was a disappointment. We will not return to this restaurant.
Pros: ambience
Cons: food
