Baris was conveniently located for me. The prices are VERY good and cheap and the portions are quite large
The food however was merely OK. The pastas sometimes were greasy and the pizza wasn't as flavorful as I would have hoped.
Parking is a BREEZE as it's in a stripmall with many low-traffic businesses.
My hubby and I showed up just 8 minutes before close on a Saturday night. We weren't sure they would still serve us. The place was empty except for one table. We asked for a pizza to go. The owner was incredibly sweet and within minutes we were walking out with a hot and delicious veggie pizza.
We'll be back often (and earlier).
Pros: The best pizza I have had in a long time.
1st and last visit to this "family" restaurant in Pville. Kids running around, screaming - felt like we were at McDonald's playland or Chuck - E Cheez. Food was good, service adequate but overall atmosphere not very conducive for enjoying a meal and conversation.
Since when does "family" restaurant mean "let your children run wild, make as much noise as possible while you ignore their loud, rude and disruptive behaviour"???!!
Cons: Loud, noisy
Our family have been eating at Baris for over ten years. In that time we have never had a bad experience. I personally love their chicken Caesar salad. Tony makes his own Caesar dressing and it is authentic. Be sure to ask for their special dipping sauce with the rolls. The prices are extremely reasonable and the wait staff are fun and efficient. You'll never regret dining at Baris. Enjoy
Pros: Great pasta and sauces, unbelievable rolls
Cons: If there are any I don't know of them
Good food cheap price and cheese cke to die for
My young family and I went in for an early dinner the other night and we were more than pleased with service and family friendly atmosphere. The food however is more like something you would buy in the frozen section of the store.
The spinach pizza was very good. There are many choices in the menu and good options for kids as well.
Pros: many choices of italian meals
Cons: paper plates...
My friends and I have made this a regular lunch spot! What a bargain!!! And... what great food!!!!
Pros: Cheap Lunch
I have been going to this restaurant for many years now, and I would say if you are ever north of Austin try it out. It is really hard to find great restaurants for my family and I because we are very particular about our food. But when we do go out to eat we go here. First off the food is a great price, the portions, and taste of your food does not reflect the price. I could not tell you what dish is my favorite, but one of my favorite perks to eating there are the rolls. They are really good, and apparently made from scratch. The service is also really great, very friendly, and we just never have had any problems there. When ever we have friends in town we bring them here, at least one night, it?s that kind of place. I think its good family owned restaurants like these that are hard to find, and little treasures when you do find them.
Cons: have not had any yet
This place is great! im so happy I found this place. The food is to die for and you get so much food. This is real authentic Italian food, and there PIZZA is real New York style. Everyone should try this place , you wont be let down. Its kept exreamly clean, and my service was great.
Pros: pasta, great wines, stromboli
This place is great, and always clean. I have been eating there for almost 6 years and have never been disappointed. Its family owned and operated. The food is totally authentic and handmade. All of the food is cooked to order. The servers are great and the food comes out quick. I love this place and would recomend it to everyone ! They also have great lunch specials. This is the only real NEW YORK style pizza i have had in texas.
Pros: quick service, great food
This restaurant was recommended by a friend so we decided to try it. What a mistake. First of all after being seated it took at least 15 minutes for someone to wait on us. Then the waitress knew nothing about the the wine they sold. She wasn't even old enough to drink. We ordered the anti-pasta salad that was filled with black hairs. My husband and I have blond hair. After sending that back I ordered a dish that according to the waitress is one of their most popular, the Carchovie. The chicken was very tough and it had a whopping (2) artichokes. It was awful. You would think that after two bad dishes that the owner would come out and apologize or at least see what they could do to salvage the dining experience but no sign of them. Then I heard the dinner rolls were great. Well, we were there around 5:30PM and were told that they had no fresh rolls and were not making anymore. Go figure. They were terrible. We eat out alot and I am telling you if you are like me you work hard for your money and you want it to count. Well, please do not wast your money here. There are so many good restaurants in Austin that you do not need to waste your time on this place.
Pros: none, the whole experience was awful
you know i moved to texas about 3 months ago from ny and i thought lets try the pizza here.so i went from place to place from cici's to everywhere else.everything horrible.one day i was drivin i see this little place that says italian new york pizza. i go to myself hmm maybe i should try. first i walk in everyone greets me. i had the feeling that i was in new york.i asked for a pizza and tried it. best ever! im telling you its worth it, the price for the taste!
Pros: fast service GREAT pizza
Cons: not to much of a seating area
My whole family loves this restaurant. Our favorite dish is, unanimously, Chicken Carchove - it's out of this world. I also love the Linguine with White Clam Sauce. You really can't go wrong ordering anything at this restaurant. They have large portions, we love the roll and you just can't beat the value. It's also a great place to take the kids and I love to support a local "Mom and Pop" owned business.
Pros: Inexpensive, Great Food, Friendly staff
Cons: Service is okay, Limited wine selectio
A truly New York-Chicago pizza the BEST in Texas GO There
This is a regular stop for us. We eat in and take out. Large portions, great taste, friendly atmosphere, terrific rolls. Great Value at a low price!!!
Pros: Great Taste, Great Price, Love the rolls
