Love my hairstylist. He always know what style to cut to compliment my face. Love it love it. He has given me 3 different cuts and I'm always leaving there happy. I also get many compliments. Love ya' Wilson! Also, the great thing is that they have so many different type of services available to you in one place.

I stopped by this salon to buy my boss a gift certificate for christmas last year...needless to say it was the day that would change my beauty needs. As i was leaving i asked if there was a stylist that would know exactly what would look great on me and not me wanting what i thought would look good on me. the receptionist instantly said, "wilson". and i have never looked back!!!! i love going there everytime!! Wilson is the best and always has your best look in mind. thanks to all of you!!!! there is so much more that i would love to say about this salon but i would be here all night.

Etheria is a gorgeous place with a very nice atmosphere and lots of friendly people. Wilson, who does hair, has a brilliant eye for what looks good, and his up dos could withstand Hurricane Ike, much less a night out. Louisa gives wonderful facials.

I am not one to write reviews but I feel compelled to do so since the only reason for me trying Etheria was all the glorious reviews on this site! I went in to get my hair colored and since I had roots, I stressed that I just mainly wanted all my hair to be one color. I have dark hair and just wanted it to be a dark brown all over. Pretty simple. Now, I have been getting my hair colored for the last 15 years and going dark all over has never been a problem before. After the coloring I still had VERY obvious roots, upon which the stylist said that I would need to come back for a toner treatment (which I would have to pay for again). I was ok with that but I just went in for my toner treatment and I still have major roots. He tried to tell me that was because I have dark hair! I have never had this problem before where a professional stylist could not get my hair to be one color; I have accomplished that feat with a home coloring box before. So after investing $162 and 3 hours, I still have roots. On top of all this, my stylist was sarcastic, overly defensive and just disagreeable for no reason. He really does not need to be in a client service industry. I wish he had told me before he touched my hair that he could not get rid of my roots. Just a horrible experience overall; I will not be returning!!

I went to have a massage two weeks ago with Jodi. She was WONDERFUL!! I cannot stress how wonderful she was. I have not been that relaxed in years. I just scheduled another massage for this coming Friday. Consider me a regular.

I have been going to Katy for cut, color, and EVERYTHING else! She is a HAIR genius! She makes my time with her super relaxing and comfortable! She is also pretty damn funny!

DOC is also a wonderful addition to the salon! He is VERY helpful and very personable! Etheria is so lucky to have him as GM!

OHHH and you have to try Etheria's SPA water! It is absolutely the icing on the cake!

I can't say enough nice things about this salon. My wife and I see Wilson, but we have friends and family who see both Wilson and Giovanni. They are total professionals, evidenced by the droves of loyal clients. Every person there is upbeat; everyone cares and there is no hesitation to shampoo someone else's client if someone is finishing up another client. I don't write many reviews, but "In Search of Excellence" drives me to do so.

Fabulous! I love this salon!

I initially found my stylist, Wilson, when I needed a botched color job (done by another stylist) corrected. I called Etheria on a Sunday, hysterical and in tears over my frightening new hair color. While they were technically closed that day, Wilson was somehow there at the salon and answered the phone. While he had never met me before, he told me I could come in right away. He seemed more than happy to help! Quite simply, he did a marvelous job correcting the color. Now - 2 years later - I am a completely loyal client! Whenever I get compliments on my hair (color and cut!) I am more than happy to tell them just who works the magic - Wilson! Even more, my husband is also now a client of Wilson's too! The entire staff is kind, welcoming and very helpful with scheduling appointments. It is always an extremely pleasant experience at Etheria!

Every few years I decide I am capable of doing my own color at home. I have never once had it turn out the way I imagined. Kevin at Etheria always fixes it, even when it has turned an ashy green, & is the only person I will ever trust with my hair again (including myself) So Kevin, I'm getting married and I NEED your help with color, cut, etc.... I went in to get my haircut at Etheria upon referral from a family member. I was 5 min. late and the guy took a different client. So, 40 min. later it was my turn. I waited 40 minutes to get a 20 minute haircut for $70. Throughout the haircut the stylist was rude and uppity. He seemed to go out of his way to say something rude or contradictory to whatever I said just in conversation. I was getting my haircut like Katie Holmes had hers and he mentioned that that's what everyone's getting -- that and Victoria Beckham's. I mentioned that I really didn't like it on her because it looked too angular since she has so much bone structure and doesn't smile. He was like that's too bad because what you're getting is pretty close to that. Rude for no reason. Then, came the styling. I told him I don't use much product and by the time we were done I had mousse and about three layers of hairspray. Regardless of the amount of product, I had to walk around Houston all day with this hairsprayed poof ball for hair instead of the relaxed natural looking 'do I asked for. The underlying haircut I'm sure is good, but everything else sucked. I would never pay $70 for someone to be rude to me. He's in the service industry. I guess no one told him.
Oh, and the lady who washed my hair kept pressuring me to have some other service done. I had to say no to like 4 or 5 different things she offered.

I have been going to Etheria for 9 years now and they have never steered me wrong. For 8 years I have been with Gio and loved him until he went on vacation and I tried Wilson. Wilson ROCKS! I trust him with my hair completely and I trust that if I was at all dissatisfied he would work hard to meet my needs. This is a really well run business with friendly and talented artists. My 4 year old also sees Wilson and loves him!

I have been going to Etheria for several months now -- always for their 90 minute aromatherapy massage for $90. First off, the receptionists at Etheria are AMAZING. They are always so courteous and make you feel well taken care of. Case in point? I usually go there after work or during the day so I am always in work clothes with make up on. I have asked the receptionists to provide some make up remover / cleanser and they are always so willing to oblige. Today, when I went in, there was a little container marked with my name on it with some face towels WAITING for me in the ladies dressing room. Granted, I go there pretty often (at least once or twice a month) but it was unbelievable to me that they remembered my usual request and had it prepared for me so well in advance. It really showed me that they appreciate my business.

Secondly, Amber (massage therapist) works wonders. I don't think she knows how good she is. She seems like a small petite gal but her hands are amazing and always knows how to get those knots out. I have also visited Lacey for massages when Amber wasn't available. Lacey is also very very good but Amber is just downright amazing.

The shower facilities are amazing. They offer these great Italian slippers and spa robes and the showers are very private. I always end up spending 2-3 hours there (just for a massage) for the simple reason that it's so easy to relax there. I only go on weekdays, however, so perhaps the weekends are a bit more crowded.

I have recently started to go to Wilson for my haircuts. He's very sweet and has offered to trim my bangs between cuts for free.

Overall, you will feel very welcome and pampered at this spa. While waiting for my hair cut the other day I had 3 separate employees ask me if I needed anything (water, etc.).

The only downside I can think of is that they don't offer massage packages (considering how often I go there).

I have been going to Etheria for three years. I get my hair cut and highlighted there. I also get manicures and pedicures there from time to time. The technicians are so talented! I often get compliments about my hair. The salon is beautiful. They also have a gorgeous patio that you can view while you get your services. The staff is really nice and so much fun. They always greet me by name when I walk through the door. I also always have a place to park.

I live in Angleton and I come all the way to Etheria to do my hair. WILSON is the best! Etheria salon is great....you will find great service, ambience, and the great Wilson. I'm very selective of the people that cut & style my hair, but ever since I found Wilson, I kept him. I've been going to him for over 5 years. He has great talent; his hands work like magic. You tell him what you want and he will do it....and much better. You will love Etheria and Wilson.

I moved back to Houston a year ago and was disappointed with my former stylist. I tried Etheria because of reviews in a local magazine and on Citysearch. My hairstyle is simple, but my color is not, and Wilson has nailed it every time. Whether I go in with a headache, tired, or in a bad mood, I aways leave feeling more human because of the atmosphere (it's not hectic, there's a lovely courtyard), interactions (I enjoy our conversations, but I can read if I prefer), service (I've never waited more than five minutes and I am always offered something to drink). When I had a migraine, Wilson suggested a massage before he would style my hair, even though that must have played havoc with his schedule. It worked wonders! Wilson seems to have the same great rapport with his other clients.

This is my second review...just had to comment. Wilson just gave me my second Brazilian conditioning treatment , and like the first one months ago, it ellicited comments from both my family and strangers. My hair hasn't looked this healthy since I was a child. Wilson is THE BEST!! and I love his quirky humor.

I have been going to Etheria for over a year, starting with Giavanni and then, because of scheduling, Wilson. Not only are both Giavanni and Wilson entertaining, a plus when one considers the "waiting" time, my hair has never looked so fabulous. I had attributed my dull lackluster hair to age and thought this irreversible. Now I can say I never cease to be amazed at how many strangers stop me to comment on how beautiful my hair is. The color is perfect and totally natural with a beautiful shine and alas, no split, fly-away ends. Recently Wilson gave me a Brazilian conditioning treatment....wish I had done this ages ago...worth every dollar. WOW!!!! Went into today with a headache. Wilson insisted on sharing his Aleve, as well as having me get a short massage while my color set. Walked out feeling like a new person. Yes, I will keep going back and highly recommend it. Oh, the spa has a new look....very chic!

After reading some really nice reviews about Etheria, I scheduled an appointment to get highlights. Little did I know I would be paying a high price for extremley low quality service. The hair stylist did a horrible job. My hair was a brassy color, It did not blend well, and the color did not go evenly to my roots. It looks like it has already grown out in some places! I let the stylist and the front desk know disappointed I was and they were very rude and cold toward me. They did not seem to care at all. I felt like I was rushed off so they could get to the next customer. I was charged full price and no one offered to fix anything. I just couldn't wait to get out of that place. I could have done a better job highlighting my own hair with a cheap box of haircolor from the store!

My boyfriend recently moved to Houston and not knowing anyone to go to for a referal, I decided to get on Citysearch and look for a place to get my hair cut and colored. I'm pretty picky about who does my hair, but found some great reviews on here for Etheria and it was close to our house. So I booked a time and ended up with the owner for a cut and color. I figured it was going to be great, he was the owner afterall! Little did I know what I was in for...that I wasn't actually going to receive much of his time at all. He had his assitant doing almost all of the work and even left me while cutting and styling to do someone else, leaving her to finish up the job. Given the prices that you have to fork out to have him personally do your hair, I was not pleased.

I was also not pleased when I mentioned that I had found them on citysearch and thought I'd give it a try because there were a lot of reviews on here and in response he said 'I don't understand people that get on there and fill these things out, don't they have a life?". Hello! I had just told him that is exactly how I found the place. Thanks dude. Along they way he also refused to cut my bangs because as he stated "straight bangs with curly hair is just too 80s" (despite the fact that I was living in paris at the time and it was completely in style). $200 later I came out with boring brown hair (no highlights visible at all), no bangs and a bad mood.

Every time I drive by and see the Voted #1 on CitySearch, I scowl and say something snarky, so I finally just decided to get on here and say something...not that he will read it of course :P

When it comes to my hair I'm very selective. I have never had my hair look its best. The color..the cut..the style..is fanstic. This is a great place. The customer service is excellent! I highly recommend my stylist her name is Ana. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

I've gotten my hair cut at great salons such as Michelyndon on Post Oak next to Cafe Annie, the place next to Linens n' Things on Post Oak (the name escapes me), and the Urban Retreat. To date, Giovanni at Etheria is the best stylist I've found in Houston. Be sure to tell him exactly what you want. You'll get a classic, yet modern style. If, after the cut, you want a slight alteration, like shorter bangs, don't be afraid to go back and get it fixed at no charge. (But I still tip.)

This was the first spa place for me and it has become the golden standard. For the price you pay, it is worth it! Massage and facials have been always meticulous and fluid, not mechanical. Spacing is just right for a nice escape, making visits feel like a true spa experience (can't hear the busy salon on the other end of the grounds). I just wish there was an Etheria closer!

During our visit today, my wife and I were reminded why we continue to go to Giovanni and Chinh after all these years: They still dare to offer an intimate, TRULY expert, and trend-setting-without-being-obvious salon experience. As for their styling, they find the perfect balance between ultra-modern chic and timeless class. They have been featured in countless high-profile fashion magazines for a reason. I must also mention that we particularly appreciate the fact that ONLY Etheria was found sanitary and safe for pedicures in a recent CNN piece on Houston salons... only them.

If you're looking for a great salon, Etheria is where you should go! It's not your typical upscale boutique. I've been to many salons and by far, this is my favorite place . The price is justified by the welcoming enviroment you receive once you walk through the door. Vikki is my hair stylist..... she always give me a great haircut! She is the best!!!!

My goodness, the other recent reviewers must have had a bad day!!!!! My experience at Etheria was COMPLETELY the opposite. I was recommended to the salon by one of my co-workers and was totally satisfied with all of my services. Everyone was so nice and welcoming from the moment I arrived at the salon. My hairstyist gave me the best, modern hair cut ever ( I've had several compliments already!) and my nail technician was very friendly and professional throughout my manicure and pedicure. More importantly, I noticed how sanitized she was with her working equipment and area. I would recommend Etheria to any of my friends and family members in a heart beat!

I went in for a mani-pedi after reading good reviews on this sight. Etheria is the closest day spa to my home, and I hoped it could be my regular place. First, I was escorted to a filthy little room with a pedicure chair. It had dingy white walls, old grey tile flooring, and harsh florescent lighting. Also, all of the products were in large, bulk containers. My manicurist used a rice cooker to heat up some lotion for my pedicure! On top of the uncomfortable atmosphere, my manicurist was very unfriendly. She did not want to engage in any conversation, so I just sat there staring at the dingy walls - no new magazines in the room. Finally, my manicure was done in the main salon area right next to the owner's styling booth. He never once recognized my presence or said hello. Basically, customer service and ambiance are a big zero at Etheria. Go to one of the many other nice spas in the area; don't waste your money here!

I went in for a simlple haircut that about 60% of all women in Houston have (long layers). It is not complicated.

The hairstylist that I had was aflicted with a mean case of the bitchies. He teased (insulted) me the entire time in a manner that I know he thought was clever and amusing. I did not find it that way. However, I was sweet and played along as one would when someone is weilding scissors near their hair & head.

I asked for him to take as little length off as possible, which of course turned into at least 4 inches. Half way through "styling" it, he got annoyed/bored and complained that "you sure have a lot of hair!". Oh, and on the note of "styling" it, he curled it up and NO JOKE I looked like S Ellen from Dallas (huge curly hair with the half-down, half fanned up bangs!!!). And not in a cute retro ironic way. Even the receptionist looked shocked when I checked out. I slunk out of there and drove to a friends house to show her the monstrosity and she busted into laughter.

The style was horrible but could be washed out. The cut was awful. The service was bad. This was probably the worst experience I have ever had at a salon.

I moved to Houston six months ago and have tried massages from several places. My co-worker insisted I try Stephanie at Etheria. This was by far the best massage I have ever experienced and I have had massages from all over! I will definitely go back to Etheria for my massages from now on and I look forward to trying other services as well.

I love it when people compliment me on my hair or skin and I'm proud to say that the people responsible for both are at Etheria. Giovanni is a genious in cutting and styling hair. I go to New York a lot and have not found anyone who can do it as well. Luisa Dossi takes care of my facials and because of her my skin is dewy and glowing or "peaches and cream" as some people say to me. She adjusts her treatment to environmental conditions, like now in the winter with the dry heat she is adding more moister to my facials and to the products she recommends for me to follow up at home.

All of Etheria fans were so proud when Paula Zahn of CNN sent a hidden camera into 5 upscale spas to research sanitary conditions regarding the pedicure areas. Etheria was the only one that passed (and with flying colors) the other four failed miserable and scarily, too.

I have recommended Etheria Salon & Day Spa to a lot of people and they all have loved it.

One word describes Etheria.... FANTASTIC. My co-worker referred me to Etheria since I had just moved to Houston and was in desperate need of a hair cut. She stronly recommended that I ask for Chinh for my hair cut. Can I just tell you that I've never had anyone cut my hair the way he did?! He knew exactly what works on me. I was one happy camper. I will be a returning patron and will refer everyone I meet in Houston to Etheria. They also offer many other services besides hair treatment...I am going for a massage and facial next week!

My friend have told me for a long time how much she loves going to Etheria for her haircut and manicure/pedicure. I finally tried it out for myself and LOVED it! I was greeted with professionalism and friendliness. I have been skeptical about trying a new salon for my manicure and pedicure because of the bad media press about possible infection. I was reassured when i saw on CNN/local news that Etheria was noted for using the latest technique on infection control. The stylist (i forgot his name) was phenomenal!! He made my "hard to manage hair" beautiful. I have an appointment for a massage and facial soon. I can't wait!!!

What a great salon and wonderful experience! I thoroughly enjoyed the place, the people, and the entire atmosphere. The environment is clean, professional, and comfortable. I was a few minutes late to my appointment but they were so gracious and did not make me feel guilty at all. This definitely earns them brownie points in graciousness. My haircut was exactly what I wanted. Highly recommended.

Chihn was the best hairdresser I've had in a LONG time! Not only did he give me a great cut with awesome color, he gave me expert advise on how to treat and style my hair without being asked. My hair hasn't looked this good in years. He wasn't even daunted when I told him I was getting married in a couple weeks and this is the cut I would have!
Also, Louisa waxed my brows (I didn't even have an appointment for that) and you probably won't believe me when I tell you that it didn't even hurt. . .

I have had many massages, and tried several types of homeopathic treatments. Many of them have been moderate or fair, however my experience at Etheria was by far the best. From the moment I arrived to the time that I left I received outstanding customer service. I arrived early, and was only scheduled for a deep tissue massage. Alon my massage therapist, insisted that I use the complimentary steam room to relax before my massage. He also customized my services combing a reflexology treatment. When the massage was over I was so relaxed and much to my suprised energized. After my treatment, he gave me a tour of the spa, and explained the different types of treatments. He helped me understand what types of massage would work best for me,
based on my lifestyle. He was honest and professional.
