Message from Cindi's N.Y. Delicatessen Restaurant & Bakery

Cindi's New York Deli and Bakery is rapidly becoming one of the favorite stopping places in Dallas. The menu is extensive, offering everything from pancakes, pigs in a blanket, potato pancakes and waffles, to omelet?s, delicious sandwiches, hearty soups, stews, hamburger steaks, spaghetti, fish platters and more. Don't miss our great pastries and cakes, as well as our chewy New York style bagels, voted "Best Bagels in Dallas" by several magazines. Very much like the coffee or pancake houses that were popular in the 50's and 60's, Cindi?s is cozy and comfortable, with the relaxed feel of both a Southern diner and a New York deli. "If you're on a quest for New York style deli favorites you will succeed here." --EatsAndDrinks.com

diner style

i'm from NJ, so i know diners. this is a very comfy one. the service can be sketchy at times, but i always enjoy the food and the atmosphere.
the omeletes are Texas size and very good. the bagels are soft as they should be.
in the case of this place, go hungry but early on the weekend. you get there after 10, you will wait.

Best NY Deli in Dallas

by Tony P.

If you are a fan of the Carnegie or Stage Delis in NY, then this is your best bet in North Texas.

Id put their Ruben up against any in town.

I have tried many of the deli's around North Texas and none even come close to this place.

When it's genuine NY deli you crave, this is the place!

by Shari S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 608

Personally, I could have the matzo ball soup every day of my life and never tire of it. But if you prefer variety, all the breakfast dishes are great, including the matza brie, omelettes and pancakes, and are served all day. Daily specials, scads of sandwich options, and magnificent pastries. Another new location on Forest near Marsh has same menu.

PROS: Excellent food, great variety, breakfast served all day.

Worst Strawberry Shortcake Ever

by Trinh9543

I ordered a strawberry shortcake from the central location Cindi's NY Deli and Bakery for my sister's birthday. When we sat down to try it, we were all disappointed. The cake was crumbly and tasted old like it had been sitting in the cooler for a very long time (frost-bite taste). The almonds on the sides were stale and chewy. And the fruit topping was not fresh. I was really disappointed because I've heard such good things about this place. I contacted the owner, but still have not received a response. Unfortunately, I can't say I'll ever go back.

Cons: Strawberry shortcake, no response when contacting management

Great Deli

by goodeating87

The food here are so good and portion are so big i always have to get a togo box. The pasteries are fresh and each bite are incredible. My favorite dish at Cindis is the number 4 on the deli menu which include cornbeef, juicy pastrami top with swiss cheese and coleslaw. It is an amazing plate that anyone can enjoy. I would recommend this restaurant if you want a good lunch or dinner.

the best food in dallas

by redtornado

This is the best restaurant in town, they have such a large varity of food. The bakery has fresh baked pasteries, makes your mouth water. My favorite is the patty melt & reuben. They also have daily lunch specials that are fit for a king, with large portions, believe me I walk out full. Everyone needs to try it!!!

Pros: The waitress's make you feel right at home

Cons: parking is limited

Average at best

by Ivey0723

Went to Central location on a Saturday morning, was busy but not extreme. Being an authentic Jewish deli, I expected the bagels to be above other standards. For a plain toasted Everything bagel with a schmear of plain cream cheese, it was eh. The Everything Bagel had very little flavor which shocked me, and the toasting was a joke. For cream cheese, was handed one of those tiny processed disposable containers, which isnt enough for one side of a bagel. Breakfast plate with eggs, corned beef and tomatoes was okay.
Eggs were watery and side of tomatoes were two extremely thin sandwish slices. This seems to be a great place for older crowd that prefers soft non-flavor food.

Pros: Bakery items LOOK good in glass case

Cons: Bagels doughy not much flavor, long wait for mediocre food

Classic Diner Feel

by taysfa

I had the pleasure of having breakfast/lunch here with a few coworkers, and man was it good. I wish I lived closer to this neat little joint. I got the veggie sandwich. It was soo good. I did not get any desserts, but man did they look tempting.

Pros: great diner feel, good food

Good bagels. Cheap drinks. OK service. Strange combination.

by neoncandle

So, this is where my family loves to have breakfast. It is kind of like IHOP, but not a chain. Still has a cheap feel to it. But the food is good and they allow lots of substitutions which is nice.

Pros: Cheap and good.

Cons: Ambience is IHOP like.

Amazing Deli

by huskyduck

Coming from a person who has eaten at New York's best deli's, this lil' ole place right here in Dallas is as good or better than anything in Manhattan. Portions are monstrous (It must be true that everything is BIG in Texas) and prices are unbelievably low.

Breakfasts are done especially well here. Pancakes are fluffy, thick and as big as a catcher's mitt. Omelettes come with home styled hashbrown. Come for dinner and sample the best catfish in the city off the dinner menu.

The owner is genuinely concerned about your happiness and you will always be greeted with a warm smile here. Come visit today!

Pros: Huge Portions, Low Prices, Warm Service
