I had read the reviews and was expecting trouble with them but the plumber was in my house less than 30 seconds before he said it wasn't covered and would be extra money. I called Old Republic and the girl there said that it wasn't her job to judge how good they were she just answered the phone. The plumber left saying I didn't owe him anything and then Old Republic sent me a bill I assume for Green Light
This is the WORST company ever. Do not use this company and do not let your home warranty or landlord use this company. They are the rudest most disrespectuful company ever. Absolutely idiotic woman who answers the phone and schedule appointments. They don't show up, they don't call, they say they'll be late and never show up.
The true "UN-PROFESSIONALS" is how I would describe them. The gentleman came in the morning and announced that the problem cannot be fixed from the cleanout immediately behind the bathroom that was clogged. (Strange is'nt it) Told me to call someone else to go through the roof and fix the problem. Then GAVE ME A BILL for 60 dollars. Which I refused to pay. If your service contract company wants to send them, tell them no thanks. Ask for someone else instead.
Water heater began leaking on Monday. Called American Home Shield and was assigned Green Light Plumbing. Their rep called and advised they would be out between 1 and 3 p.m on Tuesday. Did not show until we called at 4 p.m. Service Rep, and I use that term with great doubt, conducted his diagnosis and proceeded to disable the water valve. Not turn it off, disable it so we could use the water heater, which was still working up to that point. He promised we would have hot water by Friday. I called AHS Tuesday morning and they had not yet heard from plumber for approval. They finally had to call the plumber and approved replacement for water heater. Called plumber on Wednesday to try and expedite repairs. Got a recording three times. No return call. Finally got an answer at Green Light Plumbing and they were wanting an extra $350.00 before doing work. They refused to tell me what these charges were for, but rather referred me to AHS. I called AHS and they had heard nothing from Green Light. They again called Green Light and they could not get the answer either. Shop was awaiting the return of the Service Rep to find out what the charges were. I'm not sure how they contact their plumbers, but apparently they do not have cell phones. This was at 10 in the morning. Green Light did not return any calls on Thursday and at 5 p.m., AHS called them and got a recording, no return call. I looked up Green Light on the internet and found numerous complaints, mostly about water heater service. Also complaints about suspicious charges. Found two complaints with the Better Business Bureau, which by the way, Green Light is not a member of. They also did not respond to the complaints. I told AHS I would not wait for this company any longer and asked for a cash out. I called a competent company and they were at my home at 9 a.m. on Friday. The water heater was installed by 1 p.m. They accomplished in 4 hours what AHS and Green Light could not do in 4 days. The American Home Shield website says, "don't trust the covered repairs or replacement to just anyone." Apparently that is the job of AHS to trust just anyone. Strike one. The site also says, "over 11000 approved contractors are monitored and graded by our customers to help ensure satisfaction." This one must have slipped through the cracks. It is now 10,9999. Strike two. AHS is a subsidary of ServiceMaster whose website says, "In all we do it is incumbent upon us to do the right thing." Strike three. You are out as my warranty company. They have begged me not to fire them. Still haven't heard anything from Green Light. Customer Service is non-existent. The only thing Green Light got right was their prediction I would have hot water by Friday....it just wasn't them who provided that service.
sent out by American Home Shield...tfor a leaking hot water heater. Green Light charges not covered by American Home Shield were INSANE! Just a few examples of the charges: 130.00 charge to pull a permit costing 55.00. 75.00 for gas flex line ...part cost 12.00..... 85.00 to dispose of old water heater....Total charges for installation parts not covered by American Home Shield....630.00. Having lost faith in AHS to send HONEST contractor, we took cash out (330.00) and hired plumber found on Angies List, who is doing the entire job for 480.00.
You know all yall people talking bad about green light plumbing are just as much as morons they are an excellent company they fixed alot of stuff at my house and they were on time and they were very nice guys i would highly recommend this comany to fix any plumbing problem in your house. Great work Green Light Plumbing!!!!!!!!!!
All of yall talking bad about green light plumbing ought to be ashamed of yall self they are a good company just because your warrant company doesnt pay dont mean that they are going to do the work for free soooo lay off of green light plumbing. Get A Life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To echo other comments, avoid this company at all costs.Green Light seems to be a company that exists due to referrals from home warranty companies. American Home Shield (another rotten company) sent them out to fix my broken kitchen faucet.
The so-called plumbers they sent were inept, impolite and dishonest, ordering wrong parts multiple times, refusing to take responsibility for their mistakes and even lying over scheduling mistakes and technical errors. (You know it's a bad sign when you hear the plumbers arguing with one another over the faucet's instruction sheet!) In addition, the office staffperson is exceedingly rude and unhelpful.
After more than 3 months of no water in my kitchen, they finally installed my faucet, but they did it wrong--the whole faucet swivels around, jiggling the pipe beneath. I will be calling a real plumber to fix their mistakes.
Do not use Green Light Plumbing. Do not use American Home Shield. If American Home Shield assigns you to Green Light Plumbing, request someone else. It took 12 days to get a new hot water heater and I had to spend Christmas without any hot water! No one cared. No one apologized. They only have 2 plumbers. If one of them gets sick, guess what...you don't get service. I put in a request for a follow up WEEKS ago and have not heard from Green Light or American Home Shield. I wonder if they will ever follow up (not waiting, just curious). Do yourself a favor and get a different plumber!
Oh, one more thing...they charged exorbitant prices for the things that American Home Shield would not pay for. I would have been better off hiring Lowe's to do it in one day and paying for the whole thing myself!
These people should be out of business. Shame on the pathetic American Home Shield for using them. There is no way these pinheads could stay open on their own. Idiot came out twice over a 5 day period to fix my hot water heater telling me both times that it was fixed. After it still was not fixed, I called back to schedule a third appointment and they tell me that they could not get out for another 5 days due to a busy schedule. I feel sorry for those people on their schedule. They are probably all return visits since they cannot fix anything. Stay far away from these guys and American Home Shield if you can help it.
I had the misfortune of encountering these morons through my home warranty service when my hot water heater went out. They sent these two IDIOTS to my home - they said I had a leak in my sprinkler system (that I have not used in 15 years). I paid them the service fee even though they left a MESS. I called a sprinkler repair service and spent another $90.00 to have them tell me I did NOT have a sprinkler leak - I had a SLAB LEAK! I contacted a plumber on my own and the gentleman advised me that I, indeed, had a slab leak from the feeder line to my HOT WATER HEATER and showed me how to turn off the valve to stop the constant water leak that could have been stopped 2 days earlier if the jerks from Green Light knew what the hell they were doing! So I wound up spending over $200.00 more to find out what should have been taken care of on the initial call. Whatever you do - if you have AHS and they have you use Green Light - CALL AND CHANGE IT IMMEDIATELY!! These guys should NOT be in business - they would not know a pipewrench from a daisy. MORONS!!
These idiots have been to my house several times to fix a faucet and not only do they seem to be morons; their customer service is terrible. Half of the time that you call them their phone rolls to voice mail and the other half of the time you get a busy signal. And don't waste perfectly good oxygen leaving a mesg on the voice mail or with the person who occasionally answers, they NEVER return your phone calls.
I got these idiots through the equally pathetic service of American Homeshield Warranty service. If my realestate agent had not paid for the homeowners' warranty I would be screaming for my money back.
It's difficult to believe but my wife and I have been without hot water in our master bath for TWO MONTHS! The sad fact is that I could have probably fixed this myself and for less than the $60 copay the AHS requires.

They were sent by National Home Protection to fix the water heater at my home. Upon arrival they demanded the visit fee before starting their work. They inspected the water heater and immediately left to their Van to get approval from the insurance. After ten minutes they came back from Van to tell insurance is not covering the repair, and they walked away with the Visit fee stating it is an issue between myself and the insurance
