This group came highly recommended to me. It is a large practice which allows them to offer hours until 9 pm during the week as well as part of the day on Saturday. You must make your well-child appointments very far in advance if you want to see your regular doctor. For sick visits and last minute appointments, you will likely see another Doctor. However, between my own experience and that of other mothers I know, you can't go wrong with ANY of the doctors in this practice. Also, it is easy to get in at the last minute if there are any concerns about your child's health. I only stopped taking my child here because they do not accept my current insurance.

PROS: Large practice with great hours, apptmts easy to get last minute
CONS: Often hard to get an appointment with your preferred doctor

My daughter is almost 2 and we have been mostly satisfied with this office. I chose her pediatrician based on my OB's recommendation, thinking that she would get to see the doctor I chose in the hospital. I did not know that they have one doctor from their group go in each day in a rotation, so I did not meet the pediatrican I chose until her 2-week visit. A little disappointing.

Her doctor is Dr. Ross Finkelman, and he is great with her. He knows all the tips and tricks for getting a baby to cooperate during a check-up, and he is thorough and knowledgeable.

As for the nurses and staff, they could use some training in general courtesy. There are a few nurses there who are outstanding. One is Pat, the lactation nurse. She made it possible for me to continue breastfeeding my daughter. Most of the others act like you are interrupting their break. Once I called the office to ask a nurse a question and my baby was crying in the background. The nurse sounded irritated and said "Don't you have someone who can take care of her while we talk?" Uh, no...I am at home with her by MYSELF, I don't have a nanny on-call in the other room.

I have never had to wait for very long. They have a great waiting room and quick check in and out.

PROS: Great doctors
CONS: Not-so-great nurses and office staff

You only want the best for your newborn, and you want a pediatrician you and your child will feel comfortable with while growing up. Trust the physicians at Pediatric Associates, who are always the best. If you're lucky enough to get on Dr. Claude Prestidge's list, you'll be thrilled! Convenient late hour appointments available for working parents.

PROS: Always trustworthy, knowledgeable and professional.

Message from Pediatric Associates Of Dallas

Going to the hospital or a medical appointment can be trying. Fighting traffic, looking for a parking space, gathering necessary medical records, and trying to keep your child calm can make the experience stressful before you even get there.

At Pediatrics Associates of Dallas, we strive to make your experience coming here as pleasant as possible.

Combined, our pediatricians and nurse practitioners have more than 150 years of experience as caretakers. Since its formation in 1971, Pediatric Associates of Dallas has dedicated itself to providing quality healthcare for children.

Our goal is to create an environment where children feel welcome and parents feel confident in our care. Your child‚??s health is a primary responsibility, shared by both you and us. We strive to develop a trusting patient-doctor relationship based on mutual understanding, communication and caring. Please feel free to talk to us whenever you have questions.

As a convenience to our busy parents who can not come to our office on a weekday, we offer sick appointments and checkups in the evening 5 nights a week. We are also available on Saturday morning for children who are sick. We always have a nurse and doctor on call for the practice during the hours we are not open.

It is our policy to treat your children as if they were our own.
