My girlfriend and I have taken our cars here. They found the coolant leak that other places could not and fixed it for me. Prices were average. Oil change prices were lower than other places. Service was good. Tammy who works the front desk is great. They're a little slow on calling when your car is ready, but they were busy each time we've been there, so I'll say that is understandable. Overall, they are a good place. They're exactly what I expect in a shop. Busy, but solid work for a decent price.

The people at Candrell are the most honest mechanics I've ever dealt with. After being taken advantage of @ Meineke, I took my car to Candrell who fixed it right for about a third of what Meineke wanted to charge me. Then, after Meineke had worked on my car & didn't replace the screws that hold my splash guard on & I was getting water in my belts & losing power steering, I took it back to Candrell who fixed my splash guard for FREE! Who does that? Highly recommend Candrell for any car repairs or service.

I applied to work there as a tech because, according to them, were very busy with tons of work. I was offered an idiotic $350-400 a week for a 6 day work week 9 hours a day, less than minimum wage, or 15% commission if I earned more than $400. I worked there for one day and let me tell you, they had me do oil changes all day ($1.40 p/oil change) so that the other 2 stupid ass techs could finish a van they were working on for 2 days. Looked like they were trying to fix it by reving the life out of it and had already replaced the crank sensor (probably $300 w/labor) but was still not repaired. That was was the only vehicle that needed repairs other than oil changes. I don't know how a cheap ass place like this can have good reviews, even the oil and cheap filters they use don't meet OEM standards. Anyways, I would never recommend this place to even my worst enemy, and don't even think about working for these idiots. I wish i would have read the reviews before going to apply. If you need work done to your car, take it to a shop were the owner works on the actual vehicles or find a mobile mechanic who works for himself. These places only make money ripping people of by offering maintenance their car doesn't need, trust me they are all the same, MIDAS, FIRESTONE, ETC.... I hope this is helpfull to alot of people and I helped you save alot of your money thanks.

Took in for oil change. They called me and said my brakes were at 10% and would charge $140 to change them. Next week my coworker did same thing and they told him his brakes were at 10%. I thought this odd, so I bought some pads, removed my tires and pulled off my current pads to find them at about 80%

I am from Fort Worth, and I drive down to Dallas once a week for my sons acting lessons, I saw the marques sign that said 9.99 oil change, I was charged more then what the sign said and a week later my change oil light came on! and I had someone check the oil and I was a quart and a half low!
I would stand out there and watch them do the change to make sure, and get the right price before the work is done.
This place I would never take my suburban to again.
Stick with walmart, they take competitors coupons and get the job done!

Highly Recommend Candrell Car Care. They have given me great service and have been my car repair shop for over 20 years. They have taken excellent care of my cars including my current 15 plus year old Corvette since I purchased it new. They always let me know exactly what is wrong with it before doing any work and do it at a reasonable price. My car now has over 165,000 miles on it and runs like a top thanks to Candrell.

RIP OFF!!! Avoid this place like the plague, unless you like being lied to and ripped off! I don??t know who wrote all these great reviews, must be the owner of the place posing as customers! My AC suddenly quit working on 08/11/09. I left my car at Candrell Car Care in Carrollton to have them check it. They called me and said there was a ??blockage? in the system and that draining and recharging the freon would possibly fix it, and it would cost $175. I was also told that if that didn??t fix it, it could cost up to $600 to repair it with a new compressor. I needed the car to go out of town, and told them to go ahead and do it. When I got back to Candrell 30 minutes later my car was sitting on their side parking lot. I went inside and was told that the recharging didn??t fix the problem. I was then given an estimate for $1,495 to fix it! They LIED to me and told me that it needed a condenser, compressor and an expansion valve! I told them not to do the work, paid them the $175 (ouch) and left. A couple days later I took it to another shop and had it repaired for $600 total which was for a compressor, a dryer (part of a compressor kit), an new AC/alternator belt, and more freon. Works perfectly now. The condenser and expansion valve were fine, Candrell was LYING! Unfortunately I gave $175 to these crooks at Candrell. I will NEVER go back there again! AVOID!

Awesome! it is so hard to find a car repair place that you can trust to tell you what is really wrong with your car, what it will really take to fix it, and what it will cost, we have had nothing but pleasant experiences time and time again with Candrell, it's like having a family friend in the business. we recently took our Ford Explorer somewhere else and we were told it would cost $2000.00 to fix it, we went and picked it up and took it right over to Candrell and they fixed it for $800.00..
I am always comfortable and confident in their opinions and recommendations.

My daughter's car needed a tow and new starter. Candrell's was by far the best price, not only for the new parts but the towing as well. This was my first time to use them and I will continue to use them for all of my car needs.

the owner/(gm) is the problem. at this shop, the rip- off of the customer is the norm..low quality parts, mechanics liens and lack of tech.training is the biggest problem.cars not repaired properly the first time is a common problem. The rip off is also passed to employees.the guys that work at candrell are good hard working guys. The problem is the cheap, crooked, car stealing gm/owner.

Brought my car in because it pulled to the right. Paid for the services and left with a car that still pulled to the right. Live out of town so bringing it back was not an option. I asked the owner if he thought it was ok to charge a customer even though they left with the same problem they came in with and he said yes. Auto industry is always tough to find a good place, Candrell Car Care is not one of them. Stay away!!

Do not leave your car here without a written estimate in hand and signing an authorization for ALL services done before they begin work. We signed a written agreement for work to be done with a verbal promise to add an estimate to it the next day. The Carrollton Candrell's performed additional work we did not authorize -- an oil change they charged us $25 for plus a $2 environmental surcharge despite "oil change $10.88" on the marquee outside -- and charged us 25% over the estimate they added the day after we dropped off the car, leaving us to pay it or allow them to have a legal claim to our car. Both of those practices are common scams identified by the state Attorney General's office. Buyer beware!

PROS: Close to a major intersection (Midway and Trinity Mills).
CONS: Does not call before performing unauthorized service and overcharges.

I hav ebeen getting an oil change here for some time. If you schedule in advance, you get a great price. They are always quick and the service has always been great. The waiting area upstairs is not very big however there is a couch and a TV with magazines to keep you occupied the short time it takes for basic maintenance.

I have been to Candrell's many times for an oil change. When you drive by, you can see there sign out front with there weekly special. Usually it is a fairly inexpensive oil change with an appointment. I have not paid more than $20 for an oil change from Candrells and I have never had a problem with their oil changes. Quick and friendly.

I'm new to the area and a friend recommended Candrell. Tammy - service expert - was patient, explained everything and friendly. I received great service at a great value - the first time was a/c service that required some trial and error, that I wasn't charged for. The second time I required towing and was willing the pay for it in addition to my insurance coverage to have my car taken to Candrell. The requested service was provided and then checked above and beyond my request with no attempt to upsell or suggest any unnecessary add-ons. They are busy - because they're good - but will get to you as fast as possible and get you going again asap.
Definitely recommend.
