My first impression was this is a nice salon that I could be a regular customer. Henry, the nail tech and manager was friendly he offered me some water and put it on a tray with some candy and crackers.
I have a nail that is damaged (I smashed it in the car door) and I let him know before he got started. He first started off with both of us using hand sanitizer, which I thought was great. Then instead of using nail polish remover he sanded the polish off with the drill. I have been to many nail salons even with my mom owning one for 35 years to working in prominent salons myself. I have never seen the polish sanded off with the drill. As soon as he got to my nail that was damaged he stopped sanding and made a scene (talking loud). He told me that eventually all of my fingernails would look like that one and I should take all of the acrylic off, needless to say that nail still had half the polish on it. While he was working on my other fingers I just sat there quietly. The scene was so bad that the other customers got quiet. In 30 years I have never had anything wrong with the other fingernails. Henry embarrassed me to the point that I just said I wanted to leave without polish and he still charged me $20. I felt like I paid for him to embarrass me. There are tactful ways of talking to people and he knew that he had embarrassed me and he still kept on. I will never go back to the salon and I will tell everyone I know what Henry did so that they will not be treated in this manner.
