This is a unique and wonderful little shop. One that I hope survives a very long time. Her shop is a secret little haven that I have shown to friends whenever I want to surprise them about what Houston has in its nooks and crannies.

Pros: Just about everything is wonderful here..

Cons: Well it would be nice to have a little diversity.

Just being in this little cottage calms my nerves! Great essential oils, candles, chimes and (eww! lots of handmade soaps and bath oils) as well as fresh herbs growing everywhere. They also have a wonderful assortment of hard-to-find new age music and classes. This is a magical shop to find a special personal treat for yourself or a very unique gift for someone else.

Pros: Friendly helpful staff, soothing atmosphere and very unique gifts, herbs, books & music

Cons: A little hard to find but well worth it

Definitely not for everyone, but if you're interested in the new age, herbs, or philosophy/spiritual books, this is one of the few independent new age/natural foods stores still available in Houston. It offers a mellow "vibe" to visitors. There are lots of classes, including many revolving around cooking as well as herbology. You can rent the attached cottage too for events. The main downside is the expensive price of some products and goods here, but that comes with the independent overhead.

One of the last places in town to find your herbal and essential oil supplies, now that whole earth herbs is sadly gone. Lucia herself can often be found working the counter or around the store. Great selection of whimsical gifts and new age books, candles, semi precious stones, home decor, herbs, essential oils, cards and more. Your karma will get a boost just walking through the store.

I've been going to this store since they were located on W. Alabama. The minute you walk in you feel relaxed and at home. It always smells wonderful, there's always some wonderful CD playing and they have a wide variety of new age/holistic items available...some whimsical and some very healing to the heart, mind and body. They sell books, CDs, pollished stones, talismans and jewelry, fresh and dried herbs, handmade soaps, lotions and various beautiful trinkets. The reaon I give it a 9 is because the prices have a tendancy to be a bit pricey, especially on handmade items and jewelry. This is a good place to find flyers on various arts and craft related happenings in Houston. Please, don't miss checking this store out!

Go to Lucia's....terrific scents and a wonderful vibe. Really nice folks run the place. Sometimes selection is lagging, but give it a few visits and they will restock. A definite blessing for our city.
