Boy, ever since Freebirds sold out their food went downhill. There has to be a better place then this around town for a good burrito. Even Taco Bell is better!

We always stop at Freebirds on our way to any Mavs or Stars game. It is the perfect alternative to the overpriced and tasteless concessions at the game. I always go for the half bird. It's smaller than the full sized burrito, but it is MORE than enough for me. Load it with chicken, rice, beans, and all the fresh veggies and salsa you can handle. Delish!

This is my very favorite place to eat. I drive 2 hours to eat Freebirds burritos! I love that I can get a great vegetarian burrito just the way I want it!

Pros: great service and great price

Cons: the lines get long at peak times.....but only because the food is so great

.

Heck, even if the food weren't so good it would be worth checking out just for the foil art all along the wall in the long hallway. REALLY good food at a very fair price!

I have been a huge Chipotle junkie for years and my friends have been asking me to try Freebirds for awhile. Although I was hesitant, I reluctantly drove half an hour and had my first experience there. It's pretty unique on the inside, decorated with bricks and paint. Nostalgic stuff adorns the walls. I went during the lunch rush on a weekday, so it was esp. packed with people. Parking was difficult to find in front of the restaurant, but park a little ways down and you shouldn't have a problem. Even then, though, the wait was not long at all. Seating looked pretty limited, but the line moved very quickly and we found seats without a problem. I ordered the Monster Burrito with the cayenne tortilla and steak ($7.50). I also added onions, bell peppers, rice, cheese, sour cream, and some salsa. With the anticipation building up inside of me, I took my first bite. Right away, I noticed immediately that the steak tasted different than Chipotle. It tasted.... FRESH. straight off the grill. and it was thinly-cut skirt steak, not the big cubes that Chipotle uses. Delicious and tender! The rest of the ingredients were pretty much the same as any other burrito place, but the tortilla was excellent! There is also flour, wheat, corn, and spinach tortillas. My only complaint comes from the price. It's quite a bit more than Chipotle. Granted, a Monster burrito is slightly bigger than Chipotle's standard, but it's also two dollars more. Sour cream, which is a free option at Chipotle, is 75 cents. Guacamole and Queso are also 75 cent options. After adding sour cream and a drink, my entire bill was $10. If I'm REALLY hungry next time, I'm going to order the SUPER MONSTER burrito ($13). I've heard it's the size of a football. I'm not even sure how something that big is even constructed, but regardless, it's going to be delicious! Freebirds is definitely our choice when it comes to burritos!

Pros: great steak, unique tortillas, huge on SIZE

Cons: really busy most of the time, a bit more expensive than competition

This place is so overrated! I've heard all my friends that went to A&M talk about how great it is. Well the chicken taste like they just boiled it, the rice is straight from a package and the hot sauce isn't that hot. If you want a good burrito in Dallas go to Chipotle it's fresh and the meat taste great, rice is very good and the hot sauce is excellent. I get 3 scoops of hot sauce on my burrito. Heres what I reccomend: burrito, chicken, pinto beans, rice, corn, pico de gallo, 3 scoops of hot sauce. But the best burrito I've ever had was at Izzo's Illegal Burrito in Baton Rouge. Geaux Tigers!

Freebirds burritos are just okay, in my opinion. Not that I'm boring or anything, but I'd probably rather grab a Subway sandwich next door. I think the appealing thing about Freebirds is the atmosphere. Where else can you use the foil from your burrito to create foil sculptures and display them in the res truant? Freebirds seems to be very near and dear to Dallas Aggie's hearts. I guess if you're stuck in College Station, Freebirds would be something to be super excited about.

Just like College Station, everyone is super nice, and the servers just want to make your dinner exactly how you want it....... try the bird salad or the quesadillas, they are even better than the burritos!!!

This place is incredible! If you haven't been-go! If you have been, tell your friends! There is always a line-typically full of Aggies, but I know that network is continuing to grow as word spreads. The food is wonderful-very fresh and the meat is grilled perfectly! I would eat there every day if I could!
