Reviews for Pinyon Tree School

Ratings_icons Pinyon Tree School is great!!

Annette S.

My child, age 10, has gone to Pinyon Tree School afterschool for a year, and then two consecutive summers. She has had a GREAT TIME and wants to be there!! The staff I have found were excellent! Even the replacement for Ms. Priscilla has been high quality!! I have not had any problems. They are great and even let you just come when you need your child to come. They do not charge for when they are not there! Summers or school holidays. You pay for the days you come. This is great for working moms!! High quality, good price!!

Ratings_icons PTS IS THE BEST!!!

This is a wonderful, loving environment for kids. I was pay the same "pricey" (as some others called it) cost at another daycare not too far from here & my child was being beaten up on, bit, and came home everyday with another bruise at 18 months. I enrolled him at PTS and not another injury!!! Also he blossomed at PTS much more than the other school. This is the same school my older kids went to and they still love to go back & visit. My 12 yo asked Ms Priscilla if he could come back as a Teacher Asst. The fact that it is a Christian oriented school makes it that much better. Mr Joe and his staff are the best!

Ratings_icons Something to consider before enrolling your child!

I heard so many great things about this school and therefore I had great high expectations. When I finally decided to place my child in this school, later my expectations went high to unsatisfied! First of all, the teachers working there are not even certified. The person(s) sitting at the first desk are not always polite and sometimes seem to be in a bad mood. Seems like they only care about their business financially instead of seeing the well-being of the child. Secondly, they do not have enough staff to pay required attention to all the children. Finally but not least their administration is not organized at all!! Well I believe the administration would say alot in running this type of business.I truly would not recommend this place for your child unless you are in desperate need of child care. The price they charge is expensive to the service they actually give. It would be a reasonable price if they put their effort in giving their best for the children!

Ratings_icons PTS IS THE BEST PLACE FOR YOUR CHILDREN

My youngest son has been attending PTS since he was 2 yrs old. He is now in Kindergarden in a public school, because the price for the in house Kinder class was a little pricey, but it was worth the price to see my son blow away the other kids in his public Kindergarden class this year. Every six weeks his teach would tell me that he was the top student in her class and I owe it all the the early education that he received at PTS. He is now in the after schoolers program and is still having a ball. You can't beat the way the teachers at PTS make the children each feel very special. Ms. Priscilla has a pet name for every child and knows every child by heart. If you are looking for an early education for you child and a place where they will feel loved PTS is the place to go.

Ratings_icons Think twice about this "school"!

My son went to Pinyon Tree School back in 2000 when he was 18 months old and I did not like it at all. The large lady who worked the front desk was very rude and would never allow me to visit my son's room because they said it would cause a "disruption!" Tuition was very expensive and I was never able to visit my son's room! This was my main concern, but I continually had problems with this "school" from terrible diaper rashes to bite marks on my son's arms. My poor little boy would cry and scream everytime I dropped him off there. I learned a valuable lesson! Just because it is called a "school" and the tuition is very pricey doesn't mean it's better than any other "daycare". I would never recommend this school to anyone, not even my worst enemy!

Ratings_icons PTS Is The Best Place For Your Child

I have two children who go to Pinyon Tree, both started in the 18 month old room (youngest age group). This is absolutely the best place for your child. The staff is like an "extended family" for my children and myself. There is very little turn-over so you and your child actually build a bond and relationship with everyone who is there taking care of the kids, from Ms. Ola at breakfast, Mr. Joe and his daily involvement and Ms. Priscilla's daily "great mood" greetings; not to mention the wonderful, involved, loving and caring teachers and assistants. Everyone involved truly loves the children there and has the kids best interest at heart. One of my children is now in the kindergarten program they offer, it is absolutely top notch. My child blows my mind on (almost) a daily basis on what they have learned each day. Since my child will be going in to first grade soon, at a different school, my child regularly asks me to make sure I am going to keep her in the "after school" program they offer, simply because she says "I love it at PTS". I highly recommend this facility to anyone who wants more than just a "babysitter or daycare", PTS surpasses all of that and has proven to me they are consistent in doing so. My family is very fortunate that we were recommended to PTS many years ago by a friend of ours. PTS is truly a blessing for children and their parents.

Ratings_icons Awesome Childcare Facility/School

Erika T.

My daughter attends a magnet school in the same area as Pinyon Tree School. When school started, I originally had her registered at the YMCA in Garland, Texas. Well, after they left my poor child at school and never picked her up, a change was needed. I spoke to several of the school staff as well as parents on my daughter's soccer team. They all recommended Pinyon Tree School as a great after school program. My daughter absolutely loves the 'Tree'. The staff is excellent and my daughter is able to do her homework and get help if needed during the after school program.I would recommend this school to anyone looking for an outstanding after school program. I disagree with the other two reviewers. I think the price is just right for what they offer the children!!!

Ratings_icons A wonderful environment for a child

Susan C.

I researched daycare facilities as well as homecare facilities in the Garland area. I was knocking on Pinyon Tree's door before they were in business! I had lots of questions for them and they were able to answer everyone of them. That was 18 years ago! With my youngest in 4th grade now, we are still attending "The Tree". The staff is excellent. As it was so noted in another review, it is "pricey" because they are the best at what they do and that is exactly what you get, the best care for your child.

Ratings_icons Excellent Learning Opportunity

This is a school, not a day care. Before I had my son, I checked out all sorts of programs and worried over every detail. I was working at a Gifted and Talented elementary school at the time and so I began looking to see which students went to daycare. The majority of them went to Pinyon Tree.

My son is two and has attended PT since he was 18 months. He knows his colors, shapes, can count to 10, and even recognizes some letters out of context (as in he can pick out letters in a word as well as in ABC order.)

They start at 18 months, have their own Kinder class, and then offer afterschool pick up and care.

PROS: amazing staff and training
CONS: a little pricey
