5 Stars: Top Grocery Market in the Metroplex (by D v.)

Central Market is arguably the best thing that happened to the Metroplex. If you need something for cooking, and be it way out of the ordinary, my bet is that you will find it there. E.g., I was looking for pumpkin-seed oil (a specialty of southeastern Austria); they had it. The vegetables and fruits section is tremendous, the condiments section will blow you away: you can buy all condiments by weight; peanut butter, too. Great coffee beans selection, you can grind it there. Wine and beer from all over the world, a tremendous butcher's counter and seafood counter. They bake their own bread (see some of the other reviews). They make their own tortillas in front of your eyes. A long wall with cheeses from all over the world. The deli has everything to satisfy your cravings for sausage and ham (domestic and imported).

Many evenings they have outside entertainment with a band, and, of course, a food stall with sausages etc. and beverages (including beer).

I feel kind of privileged living only five blocks away from the Fort Worth store: I shop there almost daily, so, I got to know the people: they are eager to help and they are courteous. Go there on a week-end day (though it possibly will be quite crowded): sample stands all over the place...your kids will love it (and so will you).
Two caveats: there is no place in this country, I believe, where you can get good baguettes, and this Central Market is no exception. I had baguettes every morning when I was living in France: a good baguette should be crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Central Market occasionally gets it (almost) right but that's far and in between. Second, there is a section where Hui Chuan is offering sushi. Skip it: they are average to below average (to be expected if there is no Japanese chef). If you are a sushi aficionado (like I am having lived quite a number of years in Japan), go to Sushi Yoko off Camp Bowie, next to Baker St. Pub & Grill.

Lastly, get your kids' school to register. With the card the parents will get, they can present it to the cashier and a certain percentage (I think, it's 5%) of your purchase will be donated to your kids' school.

4 Stars: Very busy place (by Jennifer B.)

Nice to place to visit occasionally or if you need a hard to find item. A very wide selection, though some is a little overpriced. The produce selection is great and the flowers are stunning.

5 Stars: the store (by Terrance K.)

Nice store, great people ( except for some... ) , and some prices are pretty good. Though, some things can be a real rip-off , like some simple items you can find at a convenience store.

5 Stars: The best produce you can find... (by Genie L.)

and the best bakery items, and the best deli section in north Texas. And did I mention the cheese selections? And the olive bar? And the prepared foods? And I could go on and on, but I think I'll put on my shoes and go to Central Market instead!

5 Stars: Family Enjoyment (by Aimee H.)

This is a great place for the entire family. They offer classes for all kinds of cooking and decorating. The kids will enjoy the children only classes while you browse the wondrous isles or taking a relaxing break. I love this place and they offer so much.

5 Stars: If only it was closer to my house! (by Lisa R.)

I would live here if it were closer to my house. You can purchase any food you can imagine here. Ready to eat, or prepare it yourself. A playgound for the kids, a huge outdoor patio with free entertainment on the weekends. Choices are endless and everyone will find something they like. The only bad thing is that it's so hard to choose what to have!! You will die for the homemade icecream. Wash down all the fun and goodies with a latte from the espresso bar. This place is what I invision heaven to be like!

4 Stars: Fun Experience (by Michelle D.)

This is a very unique grocery store - more like an experience. The produce selection is unheard of, and I've never seen so many cheeses and freshly baked breads. The kids love going here just to see everything. Don't expect them to have all your grocery needs, just the more gourmet items. But go and have fun looking around.

4 Stars: If I was a rich girl... (by amanda h.)

...I would never leave Central Market. They have all kinds of hard-to-find items, great prepared food (the Reuben is awesome!), and plenty of goodies to keep me happy. The staff is friendly and always helpful, and the cooking classes are first-rate. Basically, Central market is my Disneyland...the happiest place on earth.
