Players

Players has some of the best burgers ever. The milk shakes are great. This was a great place to hang out on Sunday evenings when the dorm cafeteria was closed.

Player's was a wonderful oasis after walking around Austin. The Burgers were very tasty and the fried zucchini was yummy too! Finally, there is nothing like drinking an ice cold fountain Dr. Pepper in Texas.

This Austin tradition near the UT campus was saved from the wrecking ball not too long ago for a good reason...it would have been a shame to lose a home to some of the best burgers in town. Sure, they have that "greasy spoon diner" type of feel to them, as do the fries, but ever since Airport Haven closed, but they are terrific when the mood for just a good old fashioned burger hits. Their shakes are always good, too, but it's hard to save room for them after the burger and fries! Well recommended, although parking can sometimes be difficult.

Near UT Austin, Players is a gathering spot for college students because of its great food and cheap prices. They serve home-made burgers and French fries that are made when you order them so you're guaranteed fresh, hot food FAST. We can't go there without getting their fried mushrooms and every time our niece visits she asks to go for their yummy milkshakes. They also have a more home-cooked menu (Chicken Fried Steak, for example) and a number of salads for the health-conscious. Player's is an Austin trademark, known throughout Austin for it's great hamburgers and milkshakes and the perfect place to go for that 2am hunger since they're open 24/7.
