The Ultimate Experience of your Senses!

by royale

Came to Houston for business and stayed for pleasure

After my first night at the St Regis I was amazed with the atmosphere of this luxury hotel.
I had been at several luxury hotels in the world, but the coziness of its social areas and the service of their associates has no comparison.

Friday came and I did not go back home. Instead I decided to bring my wife over to experience the hotel with a different perspective. Oh my god!! What a weekend we had. They pampered us like never before and thanks to its convenient location, my wife was able to enjoy shopping at some of the most exclusive stores around the country and I was able to enjoy the remington restaurant and some great cigars at the hotel bar.

Pros: Location, Ambience adn service

Cons: .... are there any? I think I'm in love with this place

It's a wonderful place for a weekend with you loved one, it's hidden from street view, but still close to all areas of the city, made it very easy for us to get around with minimal trafic. Galleria, Downtown, and Montrose areas.

Great service, we stayed in one of the suites and we were service by a great butler, he unpacked for us and gave us complementary French pressed coffee. Very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: Lobby, wonderful, very romantic

Cons: We only stayed 2 nights

This is the place to stay.

by luvs2travel

After a horrible experience at another hotel we decided to move to another hotel. After inquiring we were immediately taken to a room (impressive considering the hotel was hosting several functions that weekend) that was at least 2x's the size of the other hotel's, nicer, CLEANER, more luxurious and cheaper. The staff at the front desk could have not been nicer. The concierge was incredible in her knowledge and helpfulness. The valet service was impressive. They always knew our name and vehicle and made you feel pampered by how swiftly and nicely they opened doors for you. Actually, all the staff were like that. Not a single one was less than upbeat and extrememly friendly. The hotel itself was beautiful and well maintained. It's definitely on our list of one of the best.

We also enjoyed the downstairs bar. The bartender made us feel like he knew us forever and even introduced us to other patrons. We enjoyed the workout room. It could have been more spacious, but it got the job done. & there were tv's on the equipment which definitely makes working out easier.

Pros: Too many to list, all in all it's very elegant

Cons: Might not be the best place for vacationing with children

great service

by ut2002

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the St. Regis, and the staff went over the top for us. The restaurant on site was unbelievable too. Our room was spacious, and we had a perfect view of the skyline and trees of Houston. Only negative was that the room decor was a bit dated.

Pros: Great service

Cons: Room decor dated

An aging beauty...

by hchase

This hotel has some of the most fascinating history; bordering on legend, really. People go to the bar (a phenomenon unto itself) and brag about how they've been staying there since it was the Remington Hotel (hence the name of the bar) or the Ritz. But, it's undergone multiple changes in ownership and management, and with each one something of its soul and grandeur is lost. I love this place and so it pains me to say that management seems to have all but lost touch with what made this place great, and that was the opulence, professional service and class with which everyone was treated: from the high-profile VIPs to vacationing couples just in for a long weekend. Employee turnover is too high -- it's rare that you're recognized anymore upon return, much less that your preferences are remembered -- and from what I can see, constant new management keeps tinkering with something that wasn't broken in an effort to "improve" it. That said, it is still one of the finest places to stay in the city with accomodations comparable to the Four Seasons, without the nuisance of downtown hassle or conventioners.

Pros: high suite availability, good spa, popular night spot

Cons: inconsistent hotel service and management, nearby train noise in the middle of the night

Better than the Four Seasons

by kmctexas

This hotel is the best I've stayed at in Houston. The staff is attentive, the rooms are huge and well-appointed and it is quiet. Unless you must stay downtown, this is a better choice.

Pros: Room Size, Staff

Cons: Valet Parking Only

Wonderful Wedding Night

by l_molano

This is the premiere destination hotel in the city of Houston. I was fortunate to spend the night of my wedding here and was treated wonderfully by the staff and was amazed by the spacious room and all the amenities. The brand new Urban Retreat Spa at The St Regis is also wonderful.

Pros: attentive staff, spacious rooms, spa

Somewhat impressed...

by lisanne1105

The ambience of the hotel was quite grand, yet I was somewhat surprised regarding the quality of the room. The bathroom and the bathrobe provided were both dirty. The view we were given was of a dumpster and construction site. The staff rectified certain situations very quickly, though. The menu offered for room service was quite eclectic and the food very well made. As a special occasion (our anniversary) stay we were not quite as satisfied as we should have been for the cost.

Pros: Elegant

Cons: value

Home away from Home

by Lisa_Cochran

This hotel's decor is traditional but elegant. It is located in River Oaks and just a mile away from The Highland Village and the Galleria. They serve tradittional afternoon tea and in the evenings it has a nice romantic glow. The rooms are very large and on the weekends the price is perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and the beds are amazing!

Pros: Small, Location

Personal service, relaxing environment

by innerlooper

I love staying at the St. Regis. The service is always top-notch, and from the moment you walk into the fragrant, flower-filled lobby, you are treated like royalty. The beds are comfortable; the amenities more than adequate; and the restaurant is fabulous. I also love bringing friends here for afternoon tea.

Pros: Personal service, Great food, Afternoon tea

Cons: Train track location, Expensive

St. Regis

by Reveleym02

My husband and I spent our honeymoon night at the St. Regis in June 2001. St. Regis staff was responsive, helpful and polite especially given the circumstances. The entire city of Houston had been drenched with over 30" of rain within 12 hours. Most of the city was shut down and under water. The St. Regis, however, was fully operational and pristine.

Pros: Room decore, Comfortable beds, Polite staff

Cons: Price

ASK FOR A ROOM AWAY FROM THE TRAIN TRACK

by eileen_gamboa

Lovely hotel with great service. My limo driver alerted me to the fact that one side is noisier because of the train (I forget which one) so make sure you ask for the quiet side.

Pros: nice rooms, good food, great service

Best Hotel in the Whole World

by shanbritally

This hotel combines traditional luxury and elegance with modern comforts. I frequent this hotel with my husband just for an exciting weekend getaway. There's always fresh flowers everywhere you turn in this elegant palace. The staff here really makes the St. Regis a shining star that shines brighter than most other hotels in this area. They go above and beyond expectations. If you're looking for a getaway but don't want to leave Houston, visit the St. Regis.
