Cypress Driving School

My Son did go to driver ed at cypress driving school. I am writing this review because My son did have a great experience at cypress driving school. We did have a problem with one of the driving teachers. And Coach Adams handle problem right away. Coach Adams has ask me to write a review. I did not want too but after reading these review I just had to put my own two cents in. To see want the other people are saying about his school is not the school I went too. Any time my son had a problem getting driver times We always email him and he got us one, sometimes 5 min after we email him. The Guy is a email junkie. I believe you only get things done be fixing them not just sitting around and complaining about them. And believe me I can yell with the best of them. So anybody reading these reviews take them for what they are worth and call coach Adams talk to him you will see for yourself. Keep up the Good work. Read Php 2.14-18

WOW... things have slowed down a little bit for me so I decided that I would write a brief note commending Cypress Driving School and I saw this negitive one from Michele B... so now I have to tell about my experience with this school.

I did my homework before I signed my son up for driving classes.

First I checked out the web site where I found a list of dates that classes would be taught: time, what days of the week, how many classes my son must attend, and how many hours of driving were required. Being that I was looking for summer classes, I was very pleased to see that there were four classes a day offered.... PERFECT... This was very important to me because my son had chosen to attend summer school for advanced credit and he's also in his high schools marching band which required band camp and some summer practice. Then I called the school for the price and signed him up for an evening class.

On about the fourth day Coach Adams held a parent meeting, which was VERY informative. He explained how to schedule drive time through the Schedule2drive web site and the fee associated with that site (its a different company) and the cost of the permit charged by DPS (I already knew about these fees because it was stated on the backside of the contract that was sent home the first day of class). Coach Adams also explained to us that DPS laws were going to change 9/1/09. One of the many changes would be that students who didnt have a permit before 9/1/09 would have to take their driving test with DPS instead of with the driving school which would cause a flood permits being processed by the DPS so instead of receiving a permit in 5-10 days it would take considerably longer so Coach Adams suggested that if we wanted our children to have their permits before 9/1/09, we should take them to DPS ourselves where a permit would be issued the same day. This was a very informative parent meeting with LOTS OF INFORMATION.

During the classroom portion of drivers ed class my son signed up for the simulator. The simulator is a choice and not a requirement and there is no additional fee. I wanted to check it out so when I dropped my son off for class I asked if I could see the simulator... and this is what it looked like. Its a driver's console it has an adjustable driver's seat, seatbelt, accelerator, brake, emergency brake, steering column, blinker, shifter, speedometer, headlight switch and all of the other idiot lights that are on a car; and its connected to a computer. (There is still one in the simulator room, I saw it the other day when I waiting for my son to return from a driving lesson.)

I thought that scheduling the driving lessons would be a problem because my son was and still is busy with school and band; however, Coach Adams was very accommodating. You see, Cypress Driving School has drive time available as early as 6:30 AM on weekends during the school year. I thought that this was just something that Coach Adams said during the parent meeting but not so. My son was able to schedule his driving lessons at those and other times all he had to do was e-mail Coach Adams with his name and phone number and then Coach Adams would called him to set up each drive time. My son did all of his scheduling on his own without my help.

My son will have his drivers license in a few months so I've done more homework with my insurance agency... my son will receive the following discounts from State Farm Insurance:
10% for drivers ed (Cypress Driving School)
15% for good grades (my son is smart)
5% for drug and alcohol awareness... good for 3 years (taught during driver's ed class at Cypress Driving School)
15% for Steer Clear Program (State Farm Ins)
THIS IS A 45% DISCOUNT on Bodily injury, property damage, personal injury, and collision. Some of these discounts are time dated and conditional of fault accidents check with your insurance agency to see what they offer. I do intend to purchase the $25 Drug and Alcohol Awareness certificate from Cypress Driving School for a discount on my insurance. If your insurance company does not offer this discount don't buy this certificate.

Why do I say that Cypress Driving School is an EXCELLENT DRIVING SCHOOL because on the rare occasions that I'm in the drivers seat with my son as a passenger he points out my bad driving habits. Would I recommend Cypress Driving School to my friends and family? ABSOLUTELY. My suggestion to other parents who choose to send their child(ren) to Cypress Driving School is as follows. Your son or daughter will come home from their first day of class with lots of papers READ THEM

Thank you for finally being a bit more professional Coach Adams. For this review I will simple state... Confrontational staff and difficult to schedule real drive times.

I would highly recommend Cypress Dr School. I had two daughters who attended their classes and they will pick them up from school and return home. I had no problem getting driving scheduled and every seemed professional.

Cypress Driving School was so great that I fully trust my teenager on the road. They give you a discount on your insurance, and the 7 drive times that you have to do to get your license fully prepare you. Coach Adams is a great person, Our only problem was the instructor named Coach Griffin. Not only is he rude but he is also racist and downright disgusting towards his students! We complained about him and have not had problems since. Thanks again.

If you have a 15 year old, you are probably searching for a drivers school. I recommend Cypress driving school . My teen was ready to drive and needed formal training. We were referred to Cypress driving school because of their trusted reputations and patient trainers. My teen had such a great experience. Now that shes licensed I feel more confident with her behind the wheel knowing she received the best training course to prepare her. Teens tend to not listen to their parents when being taught to drive, so this company really comes in handy.The price scale was very fair. Everyone was very friendly and professional.
