This motel is so cute and comfy, and next time I am in the area I will be staying there for sure.I spent a week there, I opened my door to a great view of the lake. When I needed something kim or jim were there to help. The scenic view motel was a great experince for me on my Vacation.

What a wonderful surprise.............Never stayed in a motel with only six rooms. Have traveled all over the world and seen many wonderful places......I now have to add this to my list of a VERY wonderful place. The room was very clean and cozy. Jim & Kim are two fantastic people. Hospitality plus ! I found the scenic View by accident on the Internet and called Kim. She was so helpful. Enjoyed a wonderful boat ride around the lake with our wonderful hosts. They went out of their way to make sure everything was just perfect. We only stayed one night, but felt like we had known Jim & Kim for years. Had a wonderful time visiting and just didn't want to leave. As we were leaving, both my wife and I decided this was one place we were coming back to very soon. We are going back again in 3 weeks and taking our neighbors along. Have told many people about this wonderful place. KIM DID A VERY SPECIAL THING THAT i WILL NEVER FORGET..... The battery on camera died just as I was going to take pictures of the glorious sunset. Kim ran in and got her camera and proceeded to take many amazing pictures of the sunset and on the lake the next day. As we were leaving she gave me a CD that she had downloaded from her camera. I now have all those wonderful pictures that prove what a wonderful place this is. Now I think that is really SPECIAL

My husband and I spent two nights at the Scenic View RV Park. What a beautiful and peaceful location. We had unknowingly lost our sewer hose, but Jim went out of his way to find us a replacement. He also helped us get our RV hooked up( we are new at this RVing stuff). We found both Jim and Kim warm, friendly , and truly nice people. We enjoyed our stay......Highly recommend this place....could not beat the rates.......G/E Lambert

The Scenic View Motel, Marina & RV Park is a wonderful, quiet stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The view of the lake is spectacular. Jim and Kim are gracious host that made us feel like we were an old friend coming to visit. I would highly recommend The Scenic View to anyone staying in this area.

What a great relaxing 3 weeks. My husband does pipeline work and we travel a lot, it is so wonderful to find a nice clean place off the beaten path of motel chains, and this place is top notch. Clean, comfortable rooms at a reasonable rate. Jim and Kim are a wonderful Christian couple, who work hard to help make your stay a pleasant experience. We are so thankful to have found this great little lake side get away, should the pipeline bring us back to southeast Tx, we will be putting in our reservations for our room.

Beautiful scenery. Small, quiet park. Wonderful hosts. We were in #8. Thirty feet from the water under the shade of a few tall stately pines. Also has six room motel so non RVer friends can stay. Nice pier system and boat ramps so you can fish from the pier or go boating. Made for a very pleasant stay. We'll be going back!

We stayed with Kim and Jim for about 2 months a while ago. Our site was right next to the lake shore. The sunsets were fantastic. Even though I had to work every day, it was like a vacation. We cannot recommend Scenic View Marina enough. Try it, you'll like it.

My wife & I left for a drive on the weekend, but packed a bag, Just In Case. We saw the sign that said, "Let us show You a room.". Well, that was all it took for me to Check Them Out, and YES, we were pleasantly surprised. We only live a short distance away, But I travel for a living & have stayed all over the country, and Love to find "A Diamond in The Rough." Rates are great, Peace is Heavenly, View & Serenity of an Evening Sunset, To Die For. We have found a New Getaway!

I took my sister, nephew and son here for the weekend and we had a great time. The location of Scenic View was perfect and enabled us to visit people in Daingerfield, Gilmer and Longview without going too far out of the way. I just wish we had been able to spend more time enjoying the lake. The Slys are very friendly and hospitable and they made us feel like appreciated guests. The motel is clean and well-run. The towels and linens provided didn't smell strongly of bleach like at most motels; they were very clean with a fresh, pleasing scent. This is a very affordable, safe, peaceful environment for anyone, whether traveling with friends, family or solo. The view truly is scenic. It's an easy drive from just about anywhere, easy to find, but hard to leave. I highly recommend Scenic View Motel, Marina & RV Park and hope to visit again soon!

I work for the railroad and I have stayed in many hotels/motels but I must say this is probably my favorite! The rooms,the hospitality, the view, the fishing and the remote location make this the perfect place to stay while your away! Thanks Kim and Jim the next time we are working around here I promise this will be our automatic choice! Thanks again for a great time hope to see you again soon!

Great place to stay, very quiet and restful . Good cell phone reception here. cable tv w/ HBO and wifi are included in rates, which are very reasonable. The owners Kim and Jim are very attentive to all your needs, Kim even picked up a few groceries for us as we are traveling in a motorhome w/out a tow. They have excellent ramps and docks, and parking close to the lake was heaven. We were here for 10 days, resting and felt safe, even thru some rain/wind.
Thanks Kim & Jim for all your hospitality.Our 2 poodles also enjoyed being here.

Linda and I stayed for 4 very relaxing days the last week of winter in 2009. Our hosts were beyond accommodating; Kim RAN to our car to give me a message from my son with whom we were to meet the next day. We were surprised by the more than reasonable rate for the use of their paddle boat. Clean, comfortable, quiet, and refreshing. Jim and Kim were there for every possible thing we needed, but were respectful of our privacy. We are honestly thinking of making Lone Star our regular Spring break get-away.

Having had the opportunity to travel and see this great nation from a salesmans perspective, Scenic View Marina, is hands down a jewel located in the sleepy northeast Texas town called Lone Star. Jim and Kim welcome you in with open arms and you leave with a sadden heart for all the hospitality and generosity those two special individuals offer. My extended stay gave me some special time to enjoy the lake, the wonderful scenery, enjoyable hometown cooking at Arnolds, and a personal look at these two transplanted Texans with their love for their motel, marina, and boots (LOL). Jim and Kim, until our paths meet again I sincerely wish you both the best of luck and extend all the blessings two great people, as yourselves, deserve. God Bless.

My husband and i stayed at the motel while he was working at us steel.I travel alot and this is one of the best experience's.It is peaceful and quiet.The rooms are excellent and very clean.Kim and Jim are so nice and kind.When I am anywhere near lonestar Texas this is where i'll stay.

Let me start off by saying thank you Kim and Jim for your great hospitality and choice of RV Sites. When you all told me of the site, I had to see it for myself to believe it. I was their for two months while working at US Steel. I would definately recommend staying at Scenic View for some tranquil mornings and pleasant evenings! Not to mention the bass in Lone Star lake! Did I mention the bass??

I own and run a small stock brokerage firm in South Texas. I also drive my pastor and his wife to funerals, weddings, graduation ceremonies, etc. After my pastor emceed a high school graduation in Tulsa, OK in late May we drove to the Ozark National Forrest for a few days of rest. I told my friends about a secret place called Lone Star, in east Texas on a beautiful lake. When the pastor's wife discovered that there really was a Lone Star in east Texas our fate was sealed. I began to embellish this fictitious lake in a not so fictitious town called Lone Star. I explained that I once raced super stocks outside of Kilgore, thus allowing them to deduce and believe that I had a distant cousin who owned a motel on a lake outside of Lone Star, Texas. My description of that secret place could only be found in a Henry David Thoreau poem. To my surprise, the description was correct. Our stay with you and Jim at Scenic View was the high point of our trip. From Jim's orchestration of mean mockingbird chases brood of black squirrels, to the loons on the lake, to your early morning hospitality with your fresh coffee and company, we thank you. I hope one day I'll get to visit my cuz in her secret place once again. Hope you enjoy that vest. It will look better on you.

The Scenic View Motel was a great place to stay this last
weekend. It was our second time here. Kim is the nicest
lady and she takes good care of her rooms. Nice and

I have visited Scenic View 5 or 6 times and every time has been an enjoyable experience.Whether it was for a weekend fishing trip or to get the kids away from the city for a few days. My kids ask at least once a month when we will be going back. The rooms are affordable and always spotless. The owners Jim and Kim make you feel right at home. The only thing they could do different is to add Relaxing to the name some how. I highly recommend it!
