I have been a regular customer of Casa Linda Bakery for over 20 years. I have also referred my family and friends to Casa Linda Bakery to purchase birthday cakes, too. Our family would always stop by and buy cookies and petite-fores when shopping in the area. However, over the past couple of years, the cakes fall way short of what I have come to expect.

A year ago, I purchased a birthday day cake (half-sheet) for one of my daughters. It was stale and "thin". I called the bakery, spoke with the manager and he agreed to give me a quarter-sheet cake for free on my next visit.

I ordered a birthday cake for my youngest daughter last month, (March 2012) and specifically pointed out to the young lady that took my order that I wanted lots of flowers, half white and half-chocolate cake, I wanted it fresh and I wanted to have MORE CAKE than icing.

When I arrived at the bakery to pick up my cake, I was very disappointed. The roses on the cake were BIG and not as plentiful as I had ordered (when I paid extra for more roses) and the size and depth of the cake had dwindled in size.

After the cashier and I discussed the situation and she agreed that the cake was not as I had ordered because she remembered taking my order, AND she agreed that the depth of my cake was about half the size of the cakes displayed in their showcase.

The assistant manager on duty (an Asian guy) came out; we discussed the situation; he asked me what did I feel would be a fair resolution to make me happy. I told him that since I was getting half of what I ordered, I should pay half of the total price. He then back-peddled and told me he couldn't do that. He said the best he could do was knock the price down $5 or make me another cake but I would have to wait about an hour because he only had one person in the back decorating cakes (it was a Saturday afternoon). The cashier called the manager because she wasn't happy with his adjustment either, and the manager stated that the best he could do was adjust the total price by $10.

Needless to say, I was not very happy. I had already spent about 30 minutes at the bakery and was about two hours from the start of the birthday party. I paid them the agreed upon price and took the cake. But I made it clear that I would never shop there again as long as they owned or managed Casa Linda Bakery.

When we cut the cake, I took a ruler and measured the actual depth of the cake where it met with the icing and it was 3/4 of an inch!!!!! Can you believe that?!?!!? They are giving customers only half of what they expect and are paying for and don't care how you feel about it.

Casa Linda Bakery has new owners who RUINING their good name and reputation that took them many years to build up. These new owners are all about the money and don't give a hoot about good customer service or customer satisfaction. They have gotten their last dime out of me!

The small cakes that I bought were what Gordon Ramsey might have described as "stale 2 days ago!" I contemplated throwing them out before my party, but did not have enough time to bake them myself. I'm not going to make that drive again. It used to be a good bakery, but the new owners must have come from the supermarket bakery dept.

If I could give this bakery 10 stars I would. I have ordered more than 50 cakes from them over the past 7 years, and I won't go anywhere else (BTW, I *have* ordered from all the high-end bakeries in Dallas). The aroma when you enter is intoxicating, the girls who work there incredibly sweet and polite. They are accommodating and talented--as a matter of fact, I'm going there today to get myself a birthday cupcake piled hight with frosting roses, because I can't let today go by without that gift to myself!

A good friend referred me to Casa Linda Bakery, and it's my bakery of choice for over 10 years. We usually get birthday cakes for the office crowd. Everybody recognizes the Casa Linda Bakery cakes. Lately they've had seasonal cakes, like the apple spice cake at year end, that are really good. They've recently added new cakes (Lemony Cricket, Reese's peanut butter, coffee toffee, cherry chocolate, and berrylicious) just to keep up with the competition. It is true that people from all over the metroplex drive over to Garland. I don't know any other traditional corner bakeries. The alternative -- store bought cakes -- are not reliable. I'm a huge fan of this bakery. In fact, I'm ordering a birthday cake today.

I have been a customer for years. Sometimes I get a good cake and sometimes it's dry. Therefore, I always ask before ordering "how fresh will the cake be". They tell their customers that it is baked the night before. NOT TRUE! The lady I spoke to on the phone, I believe her name was Laura, wasn't very nice at all. The cake I ordered for my daughter's birthday was dry and when I called them the next day to inform them, they said, I should have brought it back. That would have left my daughter without a Birthday Cake. A stell cake I guess was better than leaving her with no cake at all. So when you order a cake you have a 50 - 50 chance on getting a good one. They promised me that they would make my next cake the same day, but never offered to make up or do anything about the previous cake. I'll keep you posted!

The Casa Linda Bakery have the most sweetest girls working there. The same cake decorators are there even though they changed owner. I see Robbie; the last owner, all the time decorating wedding cakes and cakes. I am a devoted customers. Their products are made from scratch. When ever I have problems with my cakes they would fixed it or accomodated it with something. Just the smell of the cakes and pastries makes me don't want to leave. All the cakes that I have from there always look good. Sometime I see customers who are rude to the girls and never once have I seen them rude to any of the customers. Keep it up CLB!!!! Oh NOW THEY ARE ACCEPTING CREDIT CARDS which is more convenience for me =D

They are absolutely amazing cakes! My family has also been using them for every occasion and every time we have stepped away we regret it. You can literally SMELL the cake from the other side of the room even while it's still in the box. They smell like a little peice of heaven.. Petit fors are amazing also. So moist and sweet.. U have to buy one even if u are picking up a cake so u can have it in the road

Great place to get cake for any occasion. You don't even need an excuse to go in and make a purchase, they have plenty of small deserts you can take with you. But make sure to bring cash as they do not accept credit cards.

I wanted to give special treats from a good quality bakery. After reading reviews I chose Casa Linda Bakery, even tho it is quite a drive. I was really disappointed. The cookies were very thin and greasy. The Petis Fores tasted like they were made from boxed cake mix and the frosting on the white ones were gritty with sugar. The icing was soooo sweet it wasn't eatable. The lemon chess pie was made with artificial flavoring and the crust was made with lard. I was overcharged $10.00. They gave no receipt. Yes, I gave it a second try about a month later. The products were the same quality. They look great but taste awful!

When my husband and I got married 5 1/2 years ago, we got both the wedding cake and groom's cake from Casa Linda Bakery. I have to say we absolutely LOVED them. We did the traditional thing of saving our top layer of the wedding cake to eat on our 1st anniversary. It was stored in the freezer for a year. We took it out and thawed it on our anniversary. Took a tiny bite and it was just as good as the day we got it. Since then, we have bought numerous birthday cakes from them. I would recommend them to everyone I know.

Before my Grandmother passed away she always bought cakes from Casa Linda. I had them for every single birthday growing up. They are the richest, creamiest cakes you will ever eat! While being quite decently priced. I am getting married in 23 days and have ordered my wedding cake from them for the same price it would cost at Walmart! I know my day will be special because everyone will get to enjoy a little piece of heaven while honoring my grandmother's memory. Thank you Casa Linda Bakery!

You cannot get a better cake than at Casa Linda Bakery. I count down the days until one of my family members or friends has a birthday so I can get them a cake from here. No one has a birthday in December, so I just order one for the holiday. In the meantime, I just DREAM about these cakes, they are SO good!

My first birthday cake, 43 years ago, came from a little bakery called Vavra's in the old Casa Linda shopping center at Buckner and Garland Roads. When Mr. Vavra retired, (I was about 10 years old then), he sold his recipes along with the bakery. Those same recipes are still in use today at the Casa Linda Bakery.

The bakery location has moved, and there are new owners, but the cake is the same. That's an amazing feat in and of itself. I am the youngest of 4 children. When my brother and sisters and I talk about birthday cakes, we mean Casa Linda Bakery birthday cakes and no other.

My first child was born this earlier this year. In February '09, *his* first birthday cake will come from this bakery, even though we now live in Plano. It's quite a haul to get there from here, but well worth it! Prices are higher these days, and some portions are smaller, but again, the quality and the taste are well worth it.

I have used Casa Linda Bakery for years, it's an expensive place but you get what you pay for.I know I can count on them to do a great job! the cakes are great and so are the breads and cookies. I also used them for my Engagement party cake, wedding Cake and All the birthdays and showers I host. I have taken my invitations in and had them decorate my cakes just like the cover of my invitations and I have always been pleased. When my husband tasted Casa Linda cakes for the first time, he was convinced they are THE BEST and insists we use them. I used a cake from Sam's once instead of Casa Linda and my guests liked it but were all disappointed. When their cakes are uncovered the entire room smells of what one of my good friends call " THE GOOD CAKE" .We have moved to Desoto and I still won't switch.;And even though its quite a drive I won't go anywhere else. Casa Linda Bakery is my only choice!

Casa Linda Bakery lost its golden touch after the new owners came in. THe products are not that great, the cashiers are rude, and their products seem to get smaller everytime i stop by. I was displeased on my last visit when there was a roach in their cookie case.

I have been using Casa Linda Bakery for years. Their cakes are sweet and rich and the best in town. They are beautiful cakes. I can't go in there to pick up a cake without buying cookies, or a pastery too. Love them! The only complaint I would have is they don't accept credit cards. But, it is well worth the extra stop to the bank to withdraw cash.

As most of the reviews on here, I have also gotten my cakes from Casa Linda since my first birthday 28 years ago. Two generations of my family went to the bakery before that at the old location.

After living in Rockwall, Dallas, Fort Worth, Mid-Cities... I cannot find another bakery that can top Casa Linda in taste, friendly/family service and design. My husband and I used them for our wedding. I have also converted many of my friends who will drive from all over God's creation to pick up their Casa Linda treats.

The icing seems to be everyone's favorite and the hardest to beat. My personal favorites (although I am terrified of clowns) are their Clown Cookies. At holidays the Clown Cookies change to Snowmen or Jack-o-Lanterns.

The best part of Casa Linda is the family atmosphere. The same little ladies working there have been there for years. True love and pride of their work goes into everything they bake.

As long as I am able to drive to Garland, there is no reason I'll ever stray. By far, best bakery in Dallas.

Its funny when you find a place that you keep as a personal favorite, only to find out that the majority of people you talk to know about it as well !! This is one of those places. We have been going to the Casa Linda Bakery for over 30 years. It is always my pleasure to be the one to supply the cakes and goodies for diffrent events. I usually get the petis fores from C.L.B. They are great for those of us who want portion control but not at the expense of taste. They make them for any occasion and they are always fresh. They run out of them every day, and have to make more for the next !!! Great home town, neighborhood bakery !!!

I have met more than one person who insists that Casa Linda Bakery has the absolute best cakes in town - period. I would not go quite that far, but they do have excellent tasting cakes and other baked goods. I have used them for birthday cakes and breakfast goodies. My coworkers always request them when we have a special event.

I have ordered quite a few cakes from here and they are very good. The icing is wonderful it's very different from other bakeries. The prices are very reasonable and they also have a lot of ready made items that you can buy at the last minute. They have a very good Turtle Cake.

PROS: Very Good cakes and icing
CONS: none

Casa Linda Bakery is one of the best in the metroplex. I have been eating and ordering cakes there since I was a little girl. The petit fours are delicious! The staff is friendly and will work with you on your order. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this bakery : )
