Houston Shoe Hospital is the BEST

I have used the South Shepherd location for many years and have never been disappointed... might find a cheaper repair place, but will likely never find an equal as far as quality. Just picked up my loafers and they'll likely have at least another two years of good wear in them.
Can't recommend Houston Shoe HOspital enough... they're great... fast, fair prices, and quality workmanship.
Pros: great quality; knowledgeable workers; fair prices; convenient location
Cons: hard to back out of parking area (due to heavy traffic)

Thank You

I wanted to let you know that I received my shoes today via FedEx. Both pairs look beautiful; you did exactly what you said, which was repair my shoes properly. That is all I wanted, and the shoes now look like what I'd originally expected. I also like the new soles you added. I tried on the shoes and my favourite pair (the two-tone pump) is just a bit tighter; I am assuming it is just the cleaning solution and the leather will stretch. Overall, the shoes look just perfect. Thanks again for following up with my complaint, I do appreciate it.

BUYER BEWARE!!!
by EducatedConsumer1
If I could have given less than one star, I would have. After repairing the elastic on my shoe, the strap was too short. The MANAGER wanted to charge me $10.95 to fix this, arguing that I should be happy because it was 75% off the regular price and I had to pay something for the labor cost. Despite the fact that he yelled and was rude, after he agreed not to charge me I let him take the shoes. When I received the shoe 6 days later it looked like Frankenstein repaired it in his own image. My second shoe didn?t seem to have a problem until I wore it, I had a new heel rubber replaced, it was thicker than the original and now one shoe is higher than the other!
I wrote a complaint email to the address on their website and their Regional Manager responded very promptly, was very apologetic, and offered to fix the shoes again. By this time I?d already seen the many bad reviews on InsiderPages, Yelp and the other locations on CitySearch. I politely responded to the Regional Manager stating that based on all of the reviews I read, I had doubts as to their ability to fix the shoe and mentioned that had sought a partial refund via my credit card company?s dispute process in order to pay for new repairs at a new shop. My bill was about $90 and I sought a $60 refund. After 2 weeks the credit card company stated that Houston Shoe Hospital refused to accommodate any refund. I will definitely be filing a complaint with the Better BB and any and all other consumer protection websites, as well as posting this message on every consumer rating site that I know of so other potential customers can have the insight I did not have. Thank God for these rating sites, I only wish I reviewed Houston Shoe Hospital on all of the rating sites BEFORE I went. Do yourself a favor and Google this company in order to read all of the bad reviews, dating back four years ago up to this year. Shame on me for not doing my homework & simply relying on their website!
Pros: Absolutely none.
Cons: Rude manager, expensive repairs that make your shoes worse than they were originally.

They do excellent work!

I have patronized this location twice and each time they have exceeded my expectations. The first time I had a belt repaired. Their craftsmanship was second to none. The second time I had a pair of Justin boots resoled and I had a back pack restitched as the shoulder strap was coming apart. Again, I was pleasantly surprised with the fine job. The sole was aligned properly and the stitching looked factory new. They even polished the boots. The back pack looked as good as new. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this location without reservation.
Pros: friendly and competent staff, no waiting, quick turn around on repairs
Cons: none found thus far
