We spent a lot of time shopping for a hot tub the past few months. After careful consideration and three trips back to visit with Felipe at A-Tex, we decided to purchase an Amore Bay manufactured by Dimension One Spas. Both A-tex and Dimension One, seemed to have the best reputation, warranty and service after the sale. Our spa was delivered in a timely manner and has really been a joy to use. Our experience with this company has been EXCELLENT!!

I was recently in the market for a hydrotherapy spa aka hot tub and was overwhelmed by all the different players that are on the market. I definately did my due diligence and put in the miles to visit every hot tub reseller in and around Austin. Criteria for my decision was value for the $, quality, performance, ergonomics, warranty, knowledge of the product, and reputation/length of time the place had been in business.

I decided to go with A-Tex Family Fun on Burnet and purchase the Maax Elite 8500. I could not have been more pleased with my decision and all my requirements were exceeded. Felipe was the Sales Manager and Wulf completed the delivery and install; both of them were very professional and went above and beyond to make sure everything went as planned. Price was great, delivery was on time, install great and the hot tub is performing as advertised. My rating will remain a 5star until I have anything but a great experience with A-Tex.

My wife, grown children, and I have been customers of A-Tex since 1980. The reason we're still customers is because of the pleasant store atmosphere. There is always someone to help you, but they are not pushy like in some stores. We love to go in during the Christmas Season to see what they have done new. Chris, Stan, Joann, and the rest of the staff are always courteous, and willing to help in any way they can to make you more comfortable. I would hate to guess on the amount of Christmas Items we have purchased from them. Probably enough to open our own store. Back in 2002 I bought a Dimension-1 Hot Tub. Since then, I've called on A-Tex several times periodically for maintenance, or check ups. They have always shown up at the given time, and the techicians have always been professional. Keep up the good work folks, we'll see ya in time for Christmas "again".

We have been Stan's customers since we bought our house in 1991. Having no experience with a pool, we have relied entirely on the expertise of Stan and his compadres -- Chris (owner), Bob, Wolf, and others. They have resolved many problems we've had with equipment and/or chemicals and continue to be our first line of defense against bad things that happen. We especially appreciate the reasonable cost of doing business with A-Tex.

We decided to put an above the ground swimming pool and a hot tub in our backyard this summer. So we set out to do our due diligence and look at every pool and spa store in Austin. We chose to do business with Bob Spruce at A-Tex Family Fun Center. Bob was not only very knowledgable but also very patient with us as we went through the process of deciding which pool and hot tub would work best for our family and at the same time not break the bank. We purchased a 24ft Doughboy pool and a Dimension One Aurora hot tub. We spent just under $20,000 and that included some decking for around the pool. The installation went flawlessly and was complete in less than a week! It has been a great summer with our new pool and hot tub. I recomend Bob and A-Tex every time I get a chance!

I was looking to purchase a hot tub and did all my research on line. I went to A-Tex and spoke with Chris Secard who was very knowledgable and answered all my questions. I purchased a D1 Amore Bay Spa. I found A-Tex to have great spas at a great value. Wulf delivered my hot with no problems and called me back promptly once I remembered I had other questions. I would recommed A-Tex to my friends and nieghbors. I love my hot tub and it is doing wonders for my back pain.

My husband and I had an inground pool that needed a new liner. We had to special order the liner through A-Tex pools since the pool was no longer made in that size. When the liner arrived we asked to have them install the new liner. They told us that to take out the old liner, haul it away and put in a new liner it would cost us $500. We had already taken out the old liner and the new liner was already in the pool, it just needed to be situated properly and clamped on. They still charged us $500 even though half the job was already done.

They were supposed to show up at 1pm to do the job. After taking off work to meet them, they didn't show up until 3:30 pm. I have tried repeatedly to call and speak with a manager or the owner and have received NO RESPONSE! I believe that my time is just as valuable as their time.

They cannot manage to show up to a job as promised, their work was not good, they charged us a fortune for half a job that wasn't even well done, their crew couldn't communicate with us because they did not speak English, and I cannot get anyone to return my phone calls or respond to me. There is never a manager around when I call or even go by to speak with them.

DO NOT trust these people or spend your money with them! They are untrustworthy and will not assist you if there is a problem.

In June of 2006, (it's been 5 years, and they still call to ask me to remove this review - so it must be warning people - so please continue to alert their potential customers about this awful place) I found a champagne colored Sunlighter spa in the showroom of the Round Rock A-Tex Family Fun Center, and agreed to purchase the tub on a 12 month lay-a-way. I made monthly payments for almost a year, always seeing my beautiful tub in the showroom with the "Sold" sign on it each visit, until I went in April 2007, the tub was gone. "It was recalled by the manufacturer," the manager, Shawn Evans, reported, "the champagne color was cracking. Wait until the new colors come out to pick a new one," he added.

When I contacted the manufacturer, they reported that there were no such problems and the tub was not recalled. The storeowner, Chris Secard, informed me that the tub was sold to someone else to make room for inventory. The champagne color is not available anymore. He pointed out that the contract says that the company has the right to make changes to the product offered based on availability.

I don't want another color, so I asked for my money back. "Sorry, no refunds, it's in the contract," he added. "You will just have to pick another color."

When I couldn't get results through A-Tex, I took the owner to arbitration thru the Better Business Bureau. Even though I won the case, Secard still refuses to comply. A-Tex is finally getting their satisfactory rating removed, but even that took lots of e-mails.

I am still working the case, but it looks like I will have to go to real court and win again.

Don't buy from them - they lie and cheat customers all the time, but most don't discover that they are being lied to!

Purchased pool last year. They did not haul away the trash and the mound of dirt I had. I wish I had known about that. Service is not up to par. Seems they only have one person to handle service in my area. They do not show up when they say they will and now will not return calls.

Many leaks, not level and bottom not flat.

Go elsewhere.

I just want everyone who reads this to know that when I used another company (whose name I will not mention) for my pool and Jacuzzi I was left with an incomplete pool and no Jacuzzi! After contacting A-Tex Family Fun Center with my problem, they were quick to help rectify the situation even though they had nothing to do with the company I had initially used. They found parts and finished the pool. They gave a wonderful deal on a Dimension One spa, installed, that was better than the initial one I would have received from the other company. I would recommend A-Tex Family Fun Center to anyone for their quick service, their honesty, and their fair pricing. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

I wanted to write and tell you how pleased I am with the Dimension One spa I bought from A-Tex. I had been thinking about buying a spa for some time, but the experience I had with one of your competitors almost made me change my mind. I was interested in a spa I had seen them advertise for $1999. However, when I called them, I was forced to make an appointment to see their spas. When I went to my appointment, I was put through a two hour, high pressure sales pitch, like I was buying a time-share condo or something! And they were definitely NOT interested in selling me a spa for $1999 ?? I was pushed towards much more expensive models. I left there disgusted with the whole spa shopping process! I had decided to forget about the whole thing, but a friend of mine suggested I give you guys a chance. What a difference! When I walked into your showroom ?? at MY convenience, not by appointment ?? I was greeted by one of your staff members and invited to browse in your spa display. Then your salesman Todd came over and introduced himself, and we sat down to talk. He explained the features and advantages of your spas, and how they compared with others on the market. He was very knowledgeable and informative, and helped me to pick out the spa model that best suited what I wanted. The whole experience was low pressure, friendly, and enjoyable. I left your store feeling that not only had I gotten the best spa I could have, but that I had found a company and people that I could trust. I look forward to enjoying my new spa and my new relationship with A-Tex for many years to come!

In March of 2008 we purchased a Dimension One hot tub from Atex Family Fun Center??s Burnet Rd location. I think we had shopped every hot tub store in Austin, but Atex was the obvious choice. The owner, Chris, was hands in the store and very informative. What we liked about Chris was that he didn??t feel the need to talk about his competitors, or other brands of hot tubs. He focused on the benefits from Dimension One, and what made them the best value for us.

We have been using the hot tub on an almost daily basis since we had it delivered and have found even more benefits from it. Aside from the usual relaxation and release of muscular tension that the hot tub is noted for, I personally found another benefit. Several years ago I was diagnosed with having restless leg syndrome (RLS) and was taking medication for it, which really wasn??t helping. I still had RLS. I decided to experiment with the spa. I sat on the edge allowed the strong jets to massage the back of my legs. I noticed that I didn??t have restless legs. After a week I decided to go off medication. Needless to say the RLS subsided. If for some reason I don??t use the spa for several days, RLS returns. As soon as I get into my hot tub and have my legs massaged by the jets RLS disappears. I am hooked!

Wow, Where to start. I'll try to edit myself, but I get mad all over again thinking about it. Please read my story, and spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Wow, 3 reviews and all 3 are negative. We purchased a top of the line pool online, after it arrived, we began calling the pool companies for an installation. After calling several companies, they all said we will only install if you purchase the pool from them. Then I called ATEX ,and to my surprise they said YES, we do install. Set up date and was told the price for my 18' round pool was $775, I then asked all the right questions, like Does this price ninclude everything except for my pool? All materials? Is there anything else we need at all, NO. The next day I went in to sign the contract, Read all before signing, asked this guy the same questions, his answer was all included. I noted it says they need 6' to get in the back yard so I told them we do not have 6 feet between fences only a little above 5'. Now we come to the day before install, they call to confirm the date and time and then the service rep said it doesn't show that you purchased a bottom kit. I said no, you said all that I need except for my pool included in the price. She said the kit is another $348. Well, its the day before the install so I agreed to buy it, But felt like I should not have to pay the entire price since his staff failed to do the proper thing even when asked, so the rep called the Mgr. who called me back and apologize for the mix up,but tried to say that if I would have purchased the pool from ATEX this would not have happened and staff would have remembered to sell me the kit.So, the Management at ATEX believes it is OK to treat people differently if they buy from ATEX and install, verses if you only install with them. Then he says, And without 6' , I cant get my backhoe back there, so we wont be able to do the job. I told him that his staff was told I do not have 6'between fences, I assumed they would have rented a smaller backhoe and included that in the install price. So, The day before our pool is set to install I have no pool installer. I demanded that if he was going to leave us high and dry the day before install, then he will need to find me a new installer. So he provided me with a few names of people who do installation and we found one who could come but not for 4 more days, So, DON'T DO BUSINESS HERE, SPEND MONEY ELSEWHERE, DON'T REWARD BUSINESS'S WHO CARE SO LITTLE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. IF ATEX DOES NOT WISH TO INSTALL POOLS NOT PURCHASED AT THEIR STORE, THEN JUST SAY "NO WE DON'T INSTALL THEM UNLESS YOU BUY THEM HERE. BUT WHATEVER YOU DO YOU DO NOT ABANDON A CUSTOMER WITH A SIGNED CONTRACT 1 DAY BEFORE INSTALL.

We bought a pool from them in 2005. The installation was horrible. They tore our yard up, did not hall of any of there trash(which is in the contract, they said), and left tons of dirt that we had to deal with. They give you no kind of "pool 101" and they put you on bacquacil from the 1970's that is way exspensive...Then when you need repairs they dont show up when they say they will. We now get our chemical from Leslie's pools and I wish we had of gotten our pool from there. Oh well, you live and learn. The moral of the story..DONT BUY FROM A-TEX
