Hill Country Weavers Will Set Your Imagination On Fire!
by Andrea M.
This store really is world-class. The yarn & fiber selection is truly dazzling, the clerks are warm and helpful, they have excellent classes, and the store is centrally located in Austin. It seems like it's getting harder and harder to find 100% wool yarn in craft stores anymore... At HCW, everything is of the highest quality and available in every color imaginable. I shopped their prices around on the internet (nothing comparable in town), and they are at least 10-20% cheaper than all the web stores I found. Their selection of needles and hooks is excellent, as well: bamboo circulars in every size, etc... If you love working with beautiful fibers, I can not recommend HCW enough.
PROS: exquisite merchandise, reasonable prices, central location

Everyone here was very friendly in helping me pick out yarn. They have a large, cute store. It was a very nice experience and I will certianly go here again. I knew nothing about yarn when I went in, but they helped me find exactly what I needed for a gift. I have also gone in with someone who knitted and they loved the large selection.

Finding some unusual yarn...
by Claudia D.
If you need to find yarn that you can't get at any of the other hobby stores, this is the place to go. The people that work there are so forthcoming and helpful, it is a joy to go there and see what you can find.

This shop has the most extensive selection of yarn that you will find in Austin. Watch out and don't go on the weekend if you can help it, because the small shop will be so crowded that you can hardly move. The yarn is of high quality and reasonably priced. Some of the staff go above and beyond with their helpfulness, while others seem a bit aloof. Luck of the draw, I suppose! It's a wonderful trip for the fiber artist, nevertheless.
