Charles W Smith & Sons Funeral

Charles Smith funeral home lost two uns that were destined for my late husband's children in the UK. Due to the lack of response I was accompanied with my minister to attempt to clear this fiasco up that was 7 months ago. I was then advised the urns were lost and them located and would be sent to his children promptly. They apparently were lost again and nothing was sent, the children will not speak to me. I was also told the children received a letter from them accepting full responsiability.
I filed a formal complaint with the office that regulates funeral homes, and the attorney general. Due to the lack of resolve or response I contacted the owner personally, who after 12 months states he has no information regarding this fiasco.
The lack of professional response and record keeping /papertrail is unacceptable in any situation. They have refused to send the requested copy of his file and state required tracking documents. In a time of agony and loss it is inconcievable that anyone would add to the stress and refuse to provide the minimum legal state required documents.
They have no concern to bring closure to an aged widow whose health has been effected by this additional open wound. Their solution was to open the main urn and remove ashes, that to me is equivalent to exumation. unsatisfactory does not begin to describe

Excellent service, great compassion. Treated us like people instead of cash cows. Highly recommended in this most critical time of a families life. After five minutes we knew this was the place for our final arrangements. They offered options that were to our benefit.
