Love my hair - Highly recommend Aimee

by yvette02

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I just left from getting my hair cut and dyed by Aimee and could not be happier. The facility is nice, parking was easy, and the staff was really nice. I got a lunchtime appointment on short notice (called yesterday and got an appt today).

Aimee was so sweet - she's only been there a short time, but has been doing hair for like 20 years, so she knows her stuff. She involved me in picking out my hair color and my cut - and even explained to me how to style it different ways and how to take care of the cut. I've *never* had anyone make me feel like I was their only customer the way she did, and I've been to some of the pricier salons in town (and in other cities).

It was way affordable and definitely worth it!! Highly recommended!!

Pros: Affordable, quality cut/color, stylist was super nice

New hair stylist from Dallas

by tompettyrocks

I just got an appointment with a great stylist new to Austin...REGAN is at the SOUTH salon. I do a lot of treatments on my hair, chi straightener, color, dry & flat iron daily so needless to say my hair was a little damaged...she put this awesome conditioner on it that made it so healthy looking. She took her time to ask me what I wanted....btw that doesn't always happen....the cut was great but the color was so cool...it was almost like I hade 2 colors in one!! lots of depth...thanks Regan...I've had so many compliments....welcome to Austin!!!

Pros: 7 years experience w/ cut & color

Cons: None..or I wouldn't be writing this review!

REGAN IS MY NEW HERO!

by km1454

My hairstylist search ended as soon as I stepped foot into Aziz Salon (South) and took a seat in Regan's chair! After having my hair butchered by a previous stylist I was a little hesitant to try another new person, but Regan EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! I left her chair with a fabulous new hairstyle. She is not only amazing at restyling and fixing horrid haircuts from past stylists, but she is an expert at color. I am now a loyal client to Regan and will never cheat on my stylist again!

Pros: Staff and Atmosphere!

Cons: none

LOVE my hair!

by kwikster

So, I went in for a highlight, a couple of months ago-scared because I have such thin, fine hair, and came out AMAZED at the end result...Aimee was who I saw. She apparently is new THERE, but has been doing hair for 20 years, and my color is PHENOMENAL!! (and I am happy to report that none fell out!) Well, a couple of weeks later, after much debate within myself, I decided to come back in for a haircut-love it! Aimee was booked that day, and if I didn't do it THAT DAY, I was going to chicken out, so I saw Angela. This is probably the best I have looked in a really long time, and FOR SURE the best hair I've ever had!

Pros: complementary drinks, relaxing, great staff

Cons: none that I can think of

My stylist search stopped with David Tienda

by mclevin

I like to come off as a guy who doesn't care too much about his hair, but my wife and a few other people on this planet no better. Up until discovering David Tienda at Aziz (South location, on Brodie), I was a wanderer -- each month searching for a new stylist whom I didn't want to pop in the throat for f-ing up my locks. Let me tell you, I got around.

David not only listens carefully and does what you tell him to do with your hair, he makes great suggestions based on your hair type, face shape, zodiac sign, social security number, what have you. He's a wizard with the scissors and a seer with the shears. He's a great conversationalist, too -- able to wax eloquent and exhibit wit without losing focus on the quaff he's cutting.
He's like a stylist ninja, with personality and humor.

Seriously, the dude's talented, and a good guy. Give him a shot -- you won't be sorry.

Pros: Mr. T, no uppity staff, ample parking (huge plaza lot)

Cons: nada

David is an AWESOME stylist/colorist!

by zoemadison

David Tienda is an awesome sylist/colorist. I have been a client of his for over 7 years. I have always let him have creative reign with my hair. I never know what he will do. This way I always get to try new styles. I have NEVER been disappointed. My hair has been long, short, and in between. It has been every color imaginable. He is very artistic and is able to create the perfect style and color for each individual. I don't even mind driving 200 miles from San Angelo to see him! He is well worth it.

Pros: David, parking, staff

Cons: ??? none to list

Not Impressed

by fieryembers

My friend and I decided to forgo our usual pedicure place because of the special that Aziz has going on right now.
Well we were not impressed. The massage/spa chairs are old and outdated. We opted for the foot facial instead of the spa pedicure because of the extra thirty minutes that would be added. 90 mins as opposed to just 60.
Not sure if the girls had a place to go-but they zoomed through our pedicures. We finished the pedicure at about 58 minutes. It wasn't even an hour. When I asked the girl about it-she said that the pedicure was usually around an hour and fifteen minutes and an hour and thirty IF you have calloused feet.

So because of my regular pedicures-I don't get the full benefit of a 90 min pedicure? The girls talked amongst themselves for the majority of the time they were doing our feet. When we tried to engage them in conversation they were more interested in talking to each other. I have had better service at places that charged the same price as Aziz or less. The customer service leaves something to be desired.

My micro derm was just ok-it was only about 15 mins and I feel like I had to ask the questions as opposed to them telling me about the benefits. I feel like they just wanted me to buy a series of treatments instead of telling me WHY it would work for me.

This place isn't really a spa-more like a salon that tries to do too much.
'

Pros: 2 fo 99 special going on

Cons: rushed and hurried services.

Not Impressed!

by Kdnoe6

My sister-in law and I had a massage, pedicure and manicure, and a hair cut together. We arrived about 5 minutes before are scheduled time for the massage. We waited for at least 15 minutes and my sister-in law went in first. I waited for another 5 minutes then I went in. The massage was okay, but when she was done I looked at my phone and it wasn't even 45 minutes long and it should have been 60 minutes. My sister-in law came out after me. Then the rest of the time we were rushed. The ladies in the nail area kept telling us how busy they were and behind so they were rushing through the process. This was supposed to be a relaxing time we had together, but it was not that at all. The hair cuts were okay. I would not return here again after this experience. Also when checking out they tried to charge me a different amount then my sister-in law and we had the exact same thing done, besides I was cut short 15 minutes of a massage. Not happy with this place.

Pros: Angela did a nice job on my hair cut.

Cons: Unorganized and not worth the money

A absolutly wonderfull experience

by SKuff

I went to Aziz because they were highly recommended by my best friend. I was actually very impressed with the way iI was treated entering the salon. I went for my hair color, cut and my monthly facial. All the services I recieved were excellent and I love the cofortable elegent decor, this place is really really nice. But aside from that, I did truly enjoy my services, my hair is beautifull, the color is perfect and the cut is really cute. My facialist was amazing, my skin is smooth, silky and soft. Im going back for sure and highly recomend Aziz to anyone who has never been at Aziz before, definitely worth it.

Pros: Plenty of free parking, great service, very elegant

Cons: none to think of

Happy but not impressed with my hair cut

by GCANALES

I decided to take my mom to the spa for her birthday. She had never been to one so I had made special arrangements to keep it a surprise. The staff and massage therapist made her feel very comfortable. My mom said,"she had hands of an angel." That made me feel so good. The girl that did our mani and pedi was wonderful. Finally our cut. My mom as well as myself were very happy with her haircut and style....as for me it was a different story. My scalp massage was really rough and the entire time I was getting my cut I kept getting slapped in the face with my wet hair when she was cutting it. I was not so relaxed after my cut. By the time I got home I was really dissappointed with my hair. When I looked in the mirror again I realized the back was uneven so my mom had to straighten out the bottom. Overall I was pleased with the service they gave my mom at least her day was very special.

Pros: making my mom feel comfortable

Cons: getting slapped in the face with my wet hair during the cut.

Wonderful Salon and Nail services too!!

by Lisatolly

I went to Aziz for a color and cut last month and was so happy i had to tell someone. The color they are used left my hair so silky and smooth. I really like this salon because they are the most friendlist people i have ever encountered in a business.
I also had my nails done, i feel this is definitely a professional nail service compared to where i usually go, what a difference, at least they all speak english and can communicate. I love Aziz.

Pros: allot of private parking attached

Cons: none

The bad thing about botched short hair cuts is that you can barely put it up in a ponytail!!! Ugh.

by anndapanda

I shelled out $60 for a haircut from Valerie two days ago and I came out pretty disappointed. I have been here once before and had my hair cut from another stylist that I was very pleased with. But due a mess up/miscommunication in the booking, I did not end up getting the same stylist this time around. Valerie was professional, nice enough, but was not attentive and seemed hurried (I was not late for the appointment). She sat me down for barely a minute and quickly looked at my hair and asked a few questions. Also, she barely put the conditioner on for 20 seconds before rinsing it off. I don?t think she understands medium to short lengthed Asian hair and styles to fit my face shape. I basically ended up with a semi-choppy umbrella cut on top with longer straight trimmed layer on bottom. Somewhat in the shape of a mushroom; cap and stem. Oh the bangs? may I remind you this is a $60 haircut? And that the side swept bangs are a pretty darn common request? They are too short, but if I hadn?t asked for the bangs to be smoothened out little, she would have just left it in this slightly angular and unevenly dented shape.

Pros: Cheery, proffesional, front desk staff.

Cons: You never know what you're gonna get...

Aziz South Austin - Brodie

by mmm08

My experiences here have been fantastic! I stumbled upon them a few months ago while shopping in Sunset Valley. I had been very unsatisfied with my previous hair dresser, so I figured I would take the chance and branch out. I was able to get an appointment with Angela - she did a wonderful job! I'm so pleased to have found someone near my house who has the talent, great attitude and skills needed to cut , style and color my hair. I've gone to her religously since for color, cut and style and have had an all-around great experience. I also had a manicure recently and it was great as well. I've even booked my future wedding appointments well in advance with their entire team. I would definitely recommend Aziz South.

Pros: Great staff, very accomodating and all around good services for a good price

Cons: Can't think of any

I went to Aziz on Brodie last week and had my cut and color done by Delia. She did such an great job! Delia listened to me tell her that I had no idea what to do with my hair and she helped me decide what would look best on me. This is the best my hair has looked in years!!!
It felt so comfortable being there. I was alittle afraid that the staff would be alittle stand offish being an up -scale salon, but it wasn't like that at all! Everybody was really nice and very attentive to my needs. They even served me wine!! Thank you!!!

Pros: lots of parking, nice people

Cons: cant think of any

Sarah H. is great!

by delos82

I just moved to Austin over the summer and went to Aziz at the recommendation of a friend. I was so pleased! The absolute worst thing about moving is trying to find a new hairstylist! Thank goodness I found Sarah H. The first thing she ever did for me was my wedding hair. It was so incredibly beautiful, and she somehow managed to create an updo despite my almost-too-short hair. Next, I came in for a highlight and cut. I told her some of my bad experiences and how I wanted natural looking highlights 2 shades lighter than my hair color (without it taking 3 hours...blah), and poof! I walked out with a cut and natural highlights within 1.5 hours. People were stopping me and telling me that my hair is beautiful (and this is WEEKS after my appointment). And after years of coloring agony, I think I've finally found someone who knows what it means when you say you want your hair to look natural. Today I walked out feeling like a goddess: Sarah H. made my fine, flat brown hair gorgeous, multi-dimensional, and full of body . Wow!

Pros: Private parking, relaxed atmosphere

My hair stylist whos name was Dave I beleive completely butchered my hair. I had holes in my hair after he was done and he cut it way shorter than what we discussed sayed he didnt have time to fix it and still made me pay full price which for him was very expensive. People are shady at this salon dont trust them with your hair.

Pros: none

Cons: bad stylists and shady staff

I forgot my sunblock years. I must tell ya' I have seen a HUGE difference in my skin and so many have

Best Colorist In Town

by austinblondie

As we all know...finding the perfect color combination for your hair can be a horrific process. After experimenting w/ several stylists at different salons in Austin, I have finally found the perfect one. I just had my second visit with Sarah Horne, and every time I leave with my hair not only looking great but feeling healthy. She goes the extra mile to make sure the products don't damage my hair and the color lasts. She is extremely knowledgeable and refreshingly candid with her opinions about various hair styles and color combinations. Good conversation and not over the top expensive as can be the case with stylists of her ability. If you too are tired of damaging your hair and not getting the color you want...go see Sarah!

Pros: parking, staff

Cons: atmosphere

Facilities are great, the talent of the employees....not so much.......

by kaleatnt

I have now had a haircut, facial, and massage at Aziz. Each time I had a different person working on me. I am a massage therapist, have worked on a cruise ship, was trained in London England on facials and body treatments. I have also had the cream of the crop cut my hair on the ship and here in Austin. Not one of my treatments at Aziz was even close to par. Not even worth the money or time going there. The people are all nice enough, the front desk staff is very welcoming and professional. The girl who did my facial tried to sell me product, and pushed too much. Passed the point of me enjoying my time. While my mask was on, she was sitting behind me, texting on her cell phone. The massage was just ok, even with comments from me about pressure, nothing changed. Then today, a haircut. It was a gift and I should have known when I called and got in the same day that this was not a good idea. I now have a mullet and my regular stylist is going to try and do damage control. The stylist who did my hair, nice enough, but did not engage in conversation with me until the last 5 minutes or so. She did spend time trying to fix what I did not like about the cut, but she was simply unable to do any better than she had already done, so I left unhappy. I will not return to Aziz nor will I recommend it to anyone I know. Too bad because the spa itself is very nice.........

disappointed with my nails :(

by real2me

I had a bad experince in the south location a few weeks ago , the front desk was great and very attentive but my manicure was not at all what it should've been. The person that did it was very rude and did nothing but talk about herself. I will go back again to try one more time because I do believe in second chances , that and the fact the girls at the front desk made me feel more comfortable then ever.

Pros: nice customer service up at the front desk great location

Cons: HORRIBLE manicurest

Best Cut and Color ever !!

by DanaCF

Okay, I love Holly Taylor. First, she remembers you. Second, she doesn't scold you for not returning within the "normal time frame". Being a single girl one doesn't always have the cash to get her hair done. I've gone to Aziz and actually sat in the chair with my hair in the hands of someone who is ugly and mad and angry at me for not returning in a timely manner. Holly is NOTHING like this and she actually kept me coming back to Aziz. So, thank you Holly for being who you are and especially HOW you are!! I LOVE how you cut my hair. I LOVE how you color my hair. You are AMAZING!!!! I highly recommend Holly Taylor to everyone woman out there!! She is very experienced. I believe she has 10 years experience with color. She moved from Dallas just over a year ago and I'm happy to say that she made Austin her home.

Pros: Great staff, experienced!!

Cons: Parking

Mixed Bag--Great massages, not-so-great hair services

by Tellulah2

Have had great massages and pedicures at this location, but have been consistently frustrated by the haircuts I've received. The hair salon is always busy (and a bit dirty, unfortunately) and I've seen great haircuts given, but I have never been lucky enough to get one. I've tried two different stylists and found one utterly indifferent--couldn't manage to write down the formula for my hair color after 3 visits or remember my name--and the other was unwilling to spend more than a minute or two discussing a new cut. In every experience, I've had to insist that my stylist talk to me about the cut and color I want, so be assertive and aware that if you don't ask, you'll be in the shampoo room before anybody has taken more than a passing glance at your hair. Prices are reasonable compared to other high-end salons, but you get what you pay for in this case. I really wanted this to be my 'home' salon, but I've given up after walking out with hair dye on my foreheard and a mediocre haircut one too many times. My husband also tried one of the same stylists and also gave up, alas. Unless you know exactly what you want (and that's a very basic cut) and aren't afraid to speak up, I would look elsewhere.

Pros: Great front desk service and awesome massage

Cons: Dirty salon, indifferent stylists, mediocre haircuts for both men and women

REVISED REVIEW: I will never go back to Aziz again!

by KPiglet

A few weeks ago, I gave a glowing review to Holly Taylor and Aziz salon. Today, I'm revising that review to say I will NEVER go back. What's changed? Well, I went into Aziz a few weeks ago, looking for an all over dark color with red lowlights. I had a lot of grays in my mousy brown hair, and wanted to cover them and add something a little fun. Holly convinced me that I didn't need all over color (just the lowlights). I trusted her judgment, and now I wish I wouldn't have. She went through my head and bleached out the sections that were going to be red. Once that was washed out, she painted the now bleached stripes red, and added some black stripes too. The day I came home, it looked fab. Everyone commented how great it was, and it looked really cool. The problem was: the red started washing out almost immediately. Within one week, it was almost gone and I was left with these awful peach colored stripes. Also, my gray is slowly taking over my temples! I stopped into the salon a week later to show them how much it faded, and the ladies at the front desk told me, "That's what happens to red dye. It just washes out. Holly should have told you." On top of that, they told me it was my fault for not using "color conserve" shampoo. When I told them I'd been using the shampoo Holly sold to me, they looked at each other and said, "oh she sold you the wrong stuff. You should have NEVER used that if you wanted your color to stay." Their only advice (since Holly wasn't in the salon) was, "we'll tell Holly to call you today." Well shocker....never got a call. Now it's weeks later and the color is literally the worst I've ever gotten. It's faded, white/light pink and you cannot see the black at all. Basically, I'm left with AWFUL striped highlights when I came in asking for all over black and LOWlights. I cannot believe I wasted $200 on color that barely lasted a week, and noone at Aziz seems to care or want to try to fix it. Holly (and Aziz) just lost a customer for life.

Pros: Relaxing atmosphere

Cons: Don't take responsability for their work

Outstanding Salon & Spa

by bella928

I just recently had services done at the Brodie location and I truley had a great experience! I got my first facial done by Kahla it was so relaxing & refreshing! I have to say though I thought my skin was in horrible condition hence my age & the many years of sun damage, but she stated that my skin was a little damaged by the sun and that If I was interested in minimizing my damage that I should consider a photo facial. Sad to hear that they don't offer photo facials at the brodie location! Im hoping that they will soon because Im sure I'll be the first to book that service! Thank you Kahla ;)

Stress reliever, gentle with young ones, thank you!

by bahamaMAMA63

When I went to Aziz it was a very stress-free environment. I carried on a conversation with about 5 different people who worked there and I was only there to get a pedicure. I took my daughter to get her eyebrows waxed for the first time because she has been getting teased at school. They were very gentle and informative. Thank you! I've only tried the Aziz on Brodie, I'm very happy with it, but if I'm ever in the area, I'll give the downtown aziz salon a try.

Pros: very informative

Cons: it's hard to get an appt if you're a walk-in. call ahead!

Very Unprofessional

by jyoung11

This was by far the worst massage and customer service I have ever had in my life. I very frequently get massages and have been everywhere from beginner massage schools to top of the line spas and the massage I received was well below par. I left the spa feeling uptight and anything but relaxed. The masseuses and the people that work the front desk were incredibly unprofessional and downright rude. I will NEVER come back to this place. The sad thing is...this massage was a gift certificate from friends and I was mad that they wasted their money on such a worthless experience.

I decided to try this salon after reading some of the reviews. I was desperate for a good haircut because my last two cuts were awful. I was greeted by the very friendly front desk staff and asked if I would like anything to drink, even though I had a drink in my hand. I didn't have to wait and they brought me right in to Raine. I told her I needed help because I had an awful haircut. And she said "Well's that because you haven't had a haircut by me!" And she was right! Raine was friendly, fun, and very creative. She gave me hair and styling tips for my cut. Raine is awesome! I will be definately coming back for other spa services and a haircut. Thank you!

Best hair stylist

by MsBond

Dave Tienda at the Brodie Lane location of Aziz took 10 years off my appearance with his stylish haircut and edgy hair color. He doesn't just stay with simple highlights, but gets those creative juices flowing and has fun with it. I just let him have his way and wait for the results. So far, I haven't been disappointed. In fact, I now make my next appointment while I'm there. I tried calling but didn't have much luck on a quick appointment, but he's definitely worth the wait. A nice glass of wine and some chuckles plus outstanding haircare is not a bad deal at all. I highly recomend Dave and the spa itself although I have not used any services other than hair. Location is great since it's on my way home.

Pros: Location, plenty of parking

Best Salon in Austin!

by alice319

I decided I would try this salon due to the great reviews. My experience here was even better than I imagined. The front desk staff was very friendly and greeted me immediately showing me to a lovely spa waiting area. It was a very calming and inviting atmosphere. I got a terrific facial and noticed a difference in my skin right when I left. Chris is very good and I would recommend her to anyone with problematic skin. Not only did my face feel better it looked better. I will continue to go this salon for my facials.

ONE of the BEST SALON & DAY SPA in AUSTIN!

by joee22

Last week, I visited the NEW AZIZ's at the Brodie location. It's not as fancy as the location downtown, but still has all the right touches (i.e. friendly atmosphere, great customer service, refreshments, soft lighting, etc.). It was fantastic! Great prices too! I had a WONDERFUL time. The facial & body wrap did wonders. I wish I hadn't misplaced the card from the woman who served me. She did an outstanding job & it showed afterwards.

I'd like to continue to go back to the same person. Short & simply...I had a great time being pampered. I am so glad there is a NEW location closer to my home. I highly recommend AZIZ! You all ROCK!!! =)

Pros: Convenient Downtown & Brodie Locations. Plenty parking at the Brodie shopping center.

Cons: Brodie location doesn't offer the same services as the downtown location =(

Professional, Top-Notch Service, Thorough Brazilian Waxing

by apdehoyos

I went to Aziz today after reading Citysearch reviews for EVERY waxing salon in town because I noticed this was the only place where the management bothered to acknowledge customer feedback--and let me say, I had a WONDERFUL experience.

The woman who did my wax had 25 years of waxing experience and she was a complete pro who put me at ease through my first Brazilian. She was thorough enough to go back and get the little hairs, and left me completely clean (no hair, no waxy residue, nothing).

Another review complained about the florescent lights, but do you really want someone waxing your privates by candlelight?!?!

Besides, in the waiting areas, the decor is tasteful and stylish (with the aroma of candles and sound of trickling water, it's difficult not to relax under dim lights) the staff members are friendly *and* trendy (a rare combination if you ask me), and overall, just great!

Pros: experienced technicians, excellent service, convenient location

Cons: None!

Breath of Fresh Air

by jymjez10

I moved to Texas back in Sept. By the time I got the house settled and holidays passed I was in dire need of a haircut. I got on CitySearch and found a trendy little salon in downtown Austin. The salon turned out to be a severe disappointment. The stylist was very unfocused and did not know the basic fundamentals of cutting hair. I have had my hair cut numerous times and watched the stylist to know whether or not we are heading in the right direction. Needless to say I left with a wet head. Well, it took a little time to build my trust again but I braved it and found a place in Round Rock. Once again I was once met with extreme incompetence. I even brought in a picture of what I was looking for and walked out with frizzy hair because the stylist didnt want to take the time to cut my hair (I have alot) instead she took the easy way out and used the razor all over my head. I was horrified when I got home and was able to see how uneven and blocky it was and this haircut was from one of the owners of the salon. Which brings me to the present. I fnally found a stylist Raine Richard who was like a breath of fresh air. I told her what I wanted and she listened. I knew I had found what I was looking for the minute she started to section off my hair and patiently cut the many layers of my thick hair. In addition to her expertise she also possess the most wonderful creative spirit and I can see her going very far with her career. I am midway between trendy and conservative and I am glad I took a chance on a little Raine. Aziz salon is doing it right! There are no pretenses here. From the minute you walk in the door what you see is what you get, just good customer service, excellent products, and professionalism.

Pros: Prompt, friendly, professional

Real Customer Service

by don621

I recently got a haircut from Michelle. She is a great stylist who really focuses on the customers needs. My wife and I came in with ideas but no real style commitments. She expertly crafted my wife's thoughts into reality. My wife still loves the style and gets many good reviews from co-workers and friends.

For me, she went the extra mile by researching the best look for me from the web. She did this on her own time, but a measure of a true service is when it can continue to research and learn new ways of doing things. She has continued to grow herself and so I will advise any and all to test out her wonderful services.

completely wonderful

by dowens07

As soon as you walk in the door they offer you a beverage (wine, beer, water) and get your client coordinator immediately. I have had microderm abrasion and various massages at Aziz. They play relaxing music and if you want them to work specific areas of the body they do a great job. The staff professional, very knowledgeable and treat you like royalty. You will leave there refreshed, relaxed and happy.

Also, their prices are very reasonable and often have specials.

Fantastic Stylist

by ele377

I have found an excellent hair stylist. His name is Dave Tienda and he's at Aziz's south location. I went to him looking for a new cut and first-time color and am so happy with the results. The reason I trust him is he takes the time to look at me, figure out what will be great for ME, then he gives a thoughtful opinion on what we should do. I think the only way to really know a stylist is to give him or her plenty of creative freedom and see how you like it. It can be scary, or it can be wonderful. And Dave was wonderful. His aesthetic sense is incredible, with excellent technique. I read the prior review, and it's true that Dave is mostly quiet as he works... but I actually prefer that because it results in concentration and a good cut. I've already recommended him to my closest friends, and the one who has already seen him loves her hair - it suits her personality. In general, the salon is great - nice friendly staff and there is no snootiness, and the prices are decent.

Pros: Dave's work, staff, customer service.

Cons: It is difficult to get there in time after work, so I wish they were open later in the evenings.

Good haircut, customer service needs work, bad pedicure

by Suzi07

After reading so many good reviews, I decided to go to the South location. I was greeted but was not offered a drink, especially when others that came in later were. Dave was my hairdresser. He seemed skilled, however, he rarely talked. He asked me what I would like and gave me his suggestions when I asked for it and that was it. You would think if you have a new customer you would try and engage him/her in a conversation and get to know the person. He was also very rude and kept looking everywhere else and would walk off without saying anything. He didn't seem like he wanted to be there, which in turn, made me not want to be there. I also had a pedicure that day. Christina was mute the whole time. No customer service whatsoever. She did not pay a lot of attention to the bottom of my feet. When I got home, there were still calluses on them. She also did not really massage my calves or feet. I've had better pedicures in the mall for the same price and they paid more attention! Overall, it was a disappointment. The only reason I didn't give a one star is because I actually do like my hair cut.

Awesome spa

by RoxStar360

I have been going to Aziz for years and I have always felt more than satisfied when I left. Great customer service by the front desk and service providers. It is nice to go into a nice spa and be treated kindly. I have been to several spa's previously where I have been either ignored or treated rudely by snobby staff. I highly recommend Aziz!!

Pros: Super sweet receptionists and easy parking

Cons: None whatsoever

GREAT MASSAGE!

by DonnaD63

For my birthday my daughter Chelsea arranged a one hour massage for me at Aziz's. It was wonderful and Linda did an excellent job. I left feeling totally relaxed! Chelsea pampered me with coffee and a tour of the salon and day spa. She treated me like mom, but also like I mattered to Aziz's as well. Great job Aziz's for the people you hire and the manner in which they do their jobs. Great relaxing place to come too. I look forward to more massages and trying out other packages that are offered at Aziz's.

GREAT JOB!

Pros: The attention given to me when I walked in the door. I didn't have to wait to be acknowledged.

Cons: Can't think of anything that wasn't great!

Fantastic Hair Stylist and Salon

by MeggyDo

I had the best experience at Aziz. I had gotten my hair highlighted at another salon and it turned out to be a horrible orange color!! The following day I went to Aziz. Sarah Horne was my stylist and she was wonderful! We had a great conversation. I felt very comfortable and confident that my hair would be fixed. I left very satisfied and feeling so much better about myself. I would highly recommend Aziz and above all Sarah to anyone. THANK YOU SARAH!!

No more jitters

by melmel03

I got married last weekend, and after the nitty gritty details of pulling a wedding together in 3 months, my morning at Aziz was exactly what I needed. Gina did a great job on my nails, and Chelsey, the new girl at the front desk, offered us wine and refreshments to calm my wedding jitters. I had an amazing time and I will try to make this a yearly thing that I do on my anniversary, since I'm not from Austin. Parking is easy, it's in a huge shopping center. There's places to eat all around. There's a Starbucks close to the salon, but the girls at Aziz will make you coffee anyway. Everyone there seems genuinely concerned about making my wedding day great. I left the salon and the knot in my stomach was gone :) I'd definitly recommend this day spa. The south location is cute, hip, and modern. The staff is experienced But most of all, they were kind, courteous, and interested in making your day AMAZING! Great job! -Melanie

Pros: parking, decor, customer service

Cons: none. reasonable prices for the great service they offier.

Raine RiChard Is Awesome

by Thedoll

My regular sytlist at Toni & Guy would not cut my hair the way I wanted saying it had to grow out more BEFORE I cut it off! WTF? So in desperation I made an appointment at AZIZ asking if they had anyone that knew how to do trendy cuts. They booked me with Raine and when I walked in and saw her, I thought...this is gonna be good! She is fantastic. She is creative, modern and listens to what you want. My hair is the best it's been in years. I love it! I get compliments on it everyday and am more than glad to recommend her to all my friends. So far 2 of them have gone to her with beautiful results. Now the downside is everytime I try to get an appointment again, she's BOOKED!!! Word is getting around that AZIZ has a star. She also used to be a MAC makeup artist and does the makeup there at AZIZ. I highly recommend her.

Pros: Decent parking, good range of services, great location, good pricing and talented staff.

Cons: The best staff are usually booked so you have to schedule well in advance.

Aziz SkinWellness Salon is the best for Laser Services

by markgreg

I went to Aziz SkinWellness and Salon for a Laser treatment.
Unbelievable, I was very impressed and very happy. I really enjoyed meeting such a professional and confident with the service Im recieving. The education that was provided to me by this person for my service, (laser hair removal), was second to none or a least the person I saw, I felt very comfortable and happy that I decided to go for the consultation. I went to many other places trying to decide where to go for laser hair removal on my back but I choose Aziz over all others.
Very happy customer.

Pros: Professional, Really Nice place, Upscale, attached parking

Cons: Not enough locations in Austin
