Our homegrown restaurant group is known for it's top quality, freshly prepared mesquite grilled burgers, chicken, fish and steaks. Much has been written about our "extra stout" Hershey's? chocolate and fresh strawberry shakes. Four of our seven restaurants have drive-thrus where we take pride in cooking your order for you. After you order it - you may enjoy our beautiful weather and great food on one of our decks covered with umbrella tables. Augusta We are located west of the Galleria, just north of Westheimer on Augusta. Nestled under centuries old live oak trees - enjoy great food in a beautiful setting under Houston's largest tree. This location has drive thru service as well as an 80 seat air conditioned dining room.

Everytime I eat here I am always suprised how long it takes to get food, but the food is great. Their burgers are a winner and the portions are large.

Becks Prime offers very good burgers and fries and wonderful malts and milkshakes. On a nice day, sit outside underneath the big tree. Pretty awesome experience.

Love this place
by sacco
I love this place. The food's fresh, the service is fast and the people are very friendly. The quality of the entrees was what I really appreciated. I work a lot so going here and knowing I can get in and out fairly quickly is a big plus.
Pros: Great food, great value
Cons: Not in Austin yet.

$22 for a steak at a converted hot dog stand? Need I say more?
by LarryBrown
TWENTY TWO DOLLARS??? For a six-ounce steak? You've got to be joking me. I walked in to get a steak and was shocked at the price. Because I was in a jam I ordered a filet meal and a filet to go to take home to my wife. My bill was $40. For two people. At a dump of a restaurant that looks like a refurbished James Coney Island. The manager there did his best to sell me on the restaurant. "I promise you are going to like it. It's worth every penny" he assured me. I assured him that unless he delivered 2 pounds of tenderloin, 20 pounds of potatoes, and 5 gallons of milk that it would most assuredly not be worth it. But instead I got 3/4 lb of beef, one potato, and a little shredded cheese. Not by the most extreme stretch of the imagination is that "worth it." What on earth are they thinking? For that price I could eat at Houston's, The Ruggles Grill, or even Pappa Brothers Steakhouse, and even they must realize that those are far nicer restaurants, if you can even call ?Becks Prime? a restaurant.
They have been in business a long time, so they are doing something right. Other menu items are reasonably priced. I wonder how many of those tenderloins they sell in a month. I must give them some respect for having the nerve to rip people off like that, I guess if I could figure out a way to perform that kind of robbery, well, I'd do it too. That is, if I had no morals. Even though they are not holding a gun on anyone, what they are doing there is a crime.
On top of all that, our $22 ?medium well? tenderloins were raw. I mean really rare. This place is a burger joint with gross delusions of grandeur.
You know what?s good about this modern age of internet? I don?t have to take that backside reaming sitting down. I can fire off reviews of my own to Sidewalk.
Their Jamocha milkshake is really good, almost as good as Arby?s. Only at three times the price. I wonder if Arby?s has ?Jamocha? trademarked. I?ll drop them a line and clue them in to that.
Pros: They have tenderloin
Cons: Prepare to be gouged in the backside.

burger fervor
by cattbird
If what makes a hamburger great is the "BEEF" then there is none better than Becks Prime. Most burger joints cook their burgers to death- and what tastes worse than tough shoe leather. Becks burgers ae juicy, tasty and they will cook them like you like it, I've asked, Medium rare for me please. I also really like the fries. They taste like potatoes not frozen string. I will admit though they taste better eating them under that beautiful oak tree, than in my car. Overall, my friends and I LOVE the freshness and friendliness at Becks.
Pros: great food, beautiful trees, friendly service

Worst burger
by arubishka
It popped up under "cheap eats" what's so cheap about it? It's an expensively bad burger. Worst fries ever in all houston, greasy and soggy. Bread tasteless and dry, meat is barely 4 oz. small burger all shlapped together. NOT recommended for burgers at all. all hype and no taste.

Lousy customer service and terrible food
by margie148
The only enjoyable part of the meal were the fries - they were okay.

worst fries in town
by jbisbal
I heard a lot about it, went there, never coming back. Fries are the worst, greasy and soggy. The bread is dry and the meat burned. The place was not busy, it took them 15 minutes to get our food. Look for burgers somewhere else.
Pros: none
Cons: fries, burned hamburger, dry bread

What Burgers???
by allandwit
Not only are the fries the worst eatable item on the menu, but what burgers are actually impressing anybody!!!! they're not anything to brag about. If you like their burgers it's because you've haven't had a good one yet. they're not that big like they say (only 5 oz), the bread is dry, the meat is good but the veggies on it are not all that. Did I mention how bad the fries were??? They're awful!
they are overpriced, too much for what they offer. The ambiance is cold, empty and distant, nothing to look at when you eat. not going back.
Pros: drive thru
Cons: fries are limp & bad, atmosphere is cold, burgers are average

Hot Dawg!

Beck's Prime is pretty well known for having great burgers, but they also have phenomenal hot dogs! (Not to mention the milkshakes.) This location has a great patio, too.
Pros: great food, good location, shaded patio

Limp Fries, Overpriced Food, and More?
by palapakini
I have been going to Beck's Prime for several years and I've always been really happy with their food and drive thru service. Yes, their drive thru service is pretty quick for food that is cooked individually to your liking! The last two times I've been the french fries were super greasy, and very limp. I complained and they gave me another set of limp fries. I wonder if it's the grade of potatos? And However, for a fast food "joint", the vaue is not that great. Example: I ordered a chicken sandwich, fries, and a milkshake and it cost me $13. Now, that's whatI call overpriced fast food. Now the service is usually fast...but the greasy fries needs to go!

Icky Fries
by winetex
The burgers and shakes and other food are pretty good but what's up with those greasy, limp fries? They taste like they are fried in motor oil.
Pros: Great Burgers, Great Shakes
Cons: Awful Fries

If you want large juicy, full-of-taste burgers, Becks is your place. One of my Houston favorites.
