Tanacious Tanning

Tanacious was first brought to my attention by my friend Brennan (who is an associate at Tanacious) because I wanted to get tan by my birthday. Well, upon first entering the salon you'll find it's not a corporate owned facility and it feels like it. Personal touches and a personal demeanor afloat the place. It never once feels like you're laying down your money to better the ad campaign, it feels like you're paying for the kind of experience you can only hope to get elsewhere. As for the employees, they're amazing people. They consist of Janna, the owner. A lively, spunky, blonde bombshell who is just as sweet and fun as she can be. Then there are Stephanie and Brennan who clearly are employed by Janna for a reason. They're both incredibly polite, incredibly informative, and incredibly one-on-one. You never just feel like a client, you feel like you're having a personalized experience and THAT is what spending money is all about for me. And then on to the beds. They're. WONDERFUL. Upon my first visit I subscribed to the unlimited level 5 package and utilized my first visit with a trip to the level five bed. Wow. Unlike nothing you've ever used. It's got a soft bed-like bottom half in which you can monitor a vibrating-massage function while you tan. Where else have you seen that?! As for the other beds, they all look and sound and smell and work like most tanning beds you've seen, but having used them all now, I must say. . . the quality is of a higher echelon. Plus the level three bed is a stand up, chamber and is WONDERFUL when you're trying to get that deep tan without any pressure point marks. Lastly, there's the spray-tanning booth. I've used it once and I like it more than I ever liked my Mystic-tan at Darque. It provides a darker finish and a better stay. AND! If you miss any spots, the associates are more than happy to help you fill in those spots by hand. All-in-all, you can't go wrong here. From the amazing one-on-one service to the tiny details like complimentary hairspray for crazy, fanblown hair to complimentary body spray so you don't smell like you just tanned or even a nice glass of wine (for you 21+ crowd) while you wait. . . you honestly won't be disappointed by investing your money here.

I found Tanacious by accident when another place down the street was not able to turn on their tanning bed. I'd already seen the Tanacious website and liked it. I was in for much more than a pleasant surprise when I discovered Tanacious and got to know the people there.

Tanacious is a one-of-a-kind salon for many reasons. As soon as you walk in the door, you can tell that it's not a cookie-cutter franchise. This place has character and warmth. The staff truly cares about what they do, and are genuinely knowledgeable about tanning. They care about and are interested in their customer's happiness and best interests.

As a fair-skinned person, I use their top-of-the-line bed and have never burned; the tan lasts. You get to know the people there, including Janna Flick, the owner, who is a terrific woman. They want everyone to feel welcome and at home there, and they succeed! I only wish I had known about Tanacious years earlier!

The easiest and most practical way in describing Tanacious Tanning is that it is the Bentley or Aston Marton of the industry. What I mean by that is when you go to tan there, you are treated with the up most care, kind of like a Bentley is hand-made and treated like a diamond. Plus there is complementary WINE!!! But when i would decide to go to one of the other tanning salons, I felt like a Geo or some little economy car that was just shot through the assembly line and not really treated like an actual client or even a person for that matter...just a number more or less.

Ok here it is...short & sweet. I feel like I'm @ hm when I'm here! The best hospitality and i feel totally comfortable. Everybody is extremely friendly & helpful. Besides the service, the beds with the massaging mattress and the tan is phenomenal!!! For real. Much love to Tanacious, more than friends, FAMILY for life!! XOXO

I have come to realize that I can find hundreds of places to tan in Houston and reach my tanning goals with Eclipse, or Darque Tan, etc., but the staff at Tenacious Tanning makes using thier facility worth my money and worth my visit. You are not just another customer greeted by some overly tanned college student caught in the middle of gossiping with other co-workers about what a backstabber her best friend is for stealing her boyfriend feeling like an imposition to their "convo", but led by the beautiful, fun, and professional Jana Flick along with her team you are greeted as an important guest and your tanning needs and preferences are granted with friendly service and accomodation. They remember your name, they hold your lotion and goggles for your convienience ready for you at every visit, and genuinely care about your experience with them. You can't help but leave smiling. If you just want a tan, sure go anywhere, but if you want a tan with your music preference, your questions answered, and your needs met with a smile, go to Tenacious Tanning.

Pros: friendly service, adequate privacy, nice variety of beds, parking, atmosphere, late hours

Cons: only one sunless tanning bed

GREAT service, friendly staff, not pushy at all. Tanacious makes you feel like you just stepped into your own home, it's warm, clean, friendly, helpful and they know their products. If you want a salon which treats you like a client or a family member this is the place for you. I called one night at 9:15 pm, they close at 9:30 pm, they agreed to make sure I could tan even after closing..... NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT GOES BEYOND WHAT IS EXPECTED.
Their beds are clean, comfortable, new bulbs and the prices are great, your really can't beat this locally owned salon. I give them a two thumps up!!

I've tanned for many years, at all kinds of salons, but I get the most beautiful color/tan at this salon. I've never had to wait to tan or to use the awesome Magic spray (it goes on so smooth!). I love the choices of beds-they are quality! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, offering fantastic customer service. The owner also has fun items to purchase like jewelry, purses, belts, sunglasses, etc. so I buy a lot of gifts while I'm there - very convenient.

Pros: Bed quality, tan achieved, service.

Tucked away next to Radio Shack, it's worth a look for... Staff and hands-on owner are mucho friendly, educated on all there products, and concerned/helpful about your individual needs.
If you are like me, I thought all tanning beds were the same. Turns out, there is a high-end to this business too. Tanacious has the best beds you can buy. I'll let them explain all the UV stuff. All I know is that I am very fair skin and because their beds are 'high pressure", I don't burn like the franchise beds. I also spend less time and $$$ because they have a better product.

Pros: very clean, great value, no sales pressure
