I would like to take a quick second and say that if anyone is looking for a fantastic facility for your children to take tumbling and cheerleading lessons, go to ASI Gymnastics in Rockwall, Texas. We have recently enrolled our child in classes there and have found our daughter loving going to lessons each week! She is taking classes with Aaron Crouse who is also the facility manager. He is very educated in teaching tumbling lessons and pushing the kids to master the skills they are mastering. He is a breath of fresh air and we would recommend anyone trying one of his classes or any of the wonderful staff at ASI Gymnastics in Rockwall, Texas!

We enrolled our daughter in ASI gymnastics when she was 5, and continued until she was level 5. Over that 5 year time period we experienced significant changes that had an overall negative impact on us. In the beginning, ASI had a commitment to team gymnastics and preparing gymnasts to compete. Although the emphasis was recreational, it WAS a gym where you could train and compete team gymnastics in a low pressure environment. Over the past 3 years we saw a move toward an emphasis on bringing in as many toddlers as possible to learn colors and shapes, jumping up and down, and singing teddy bear songs. They literally squeezed the teams out.

The coaches they had were awesome and caring, but management is moving toward minimum-wage untrainined teenagers. Don't need much more to teach toddlers to jump up and down & sing teddy bear songs. Management is also difficult to work with -- totally money oriented and uncaring towards the needs of parents and gymnasts.

If you have a toddler that wants to jump up and down for $65 a month, GO FOR IT! If you have a child that wants to be a gymnast, go somewhere else!

My son attended ASI here in Rockwall for a little over a year. We put him in so it would help with they clumsiness he was dealing with from growing so fast. He enjoyed it emensely and wanted to stay in however we ended up enrolling him in karate instead. It is great if you are wanting to get your child active. The instructors are really good with children and take their time but there isn't alot of 1 on 1 which my son needed. If you child is outgoing and will participate one their own then ASI is for you.
