5 Stars: THE BEST VET IN TEXAS!!! (by Alan A.)

I have only made one visit to Parker Animal & Bird Clinic. I have a 6& 1/2mnth old puppy and i let her out yesterday morning to play with my other puppy well a bigger dog, for them to play in the backyard. I always keep Sassy my little puppy inside because my other puppy trey is a 3yr old German Sheppard. They love to play and ive watched them all the time when i first rescued Sassy a little less that 2 mnths ago. Yesterday morning i opend up the blinds to my backdoor and she started crying and so did Trey. So i let her out to play with him for a bit while i did a few things around the house. I watched them for a bit then tended to chores around my house. about 30 mins later she was at the back door crying and whining. I opened the door and she came in hoping on 3 legs. Her back left leg had been broken By i dont know how. I was such in a frantic she cried when i picked her up. I got x rays taken at Farmers Branch Animal clinic and them and carrier Animal hospital told me that for her operation it would cost $1100 to $1200!!! I was it total shock. I took the x rays to Dr. B this morning and he checked my puppy Sassy. By the grace and help with Help for Helpless Animals, Judy the lady i have spoken with, her organization was able to help me out with the cost and expenses for Sassy operation. I am very please and great full for all the help that has been provided to me that past 2 days. Dr. B is going to do he surgery this afternoon and is going to call me afterwords. His entire staff is nothing but loving, fun and caring and i highly urge anyone to please take your pets to his clinic. I am going to pick up sassy tomorrow and 9am and i hope and pray all goes well on her surgery. She broke her femoral and it will take 8 weeks for her to recover from it. I hope this Helps out anyone that has needs for a great, caring and loving vet.

I've been taking my dogs to "Chuck" for about 16 yrs. I went to one vet in east plano who was very expensive and never returned after going to Parker A&B clinic. Dr. Blonien gave me information on which over the counter meds I could use for my dog for allergies, etc. When my scottie became very ill, he had me bring my dog to his office; it was 9pm on a Sunday night! He took xrays, did blood work, you name it. I have never, ever had a bad experience there - a few sad ones but that's part of illness. The staff is very kind, caring and, at times, entertaining. I can't tell you if they're a great deal; I haven't been anywhere else. I trust Dr. B and have come to know and trust Dr. Whetstone. I recommend him and the practice to everyone I know. I believe that, once you go there, you'll never go anywhere else.(Ask him about the lion or tiger -no bear-and the territorial marking; too funny.

I took my dog in for a walk in visit. She tore part of her paw pad and had some dermatitis on her underbelly. They got me in to see a doctor really quickly, everyone was so courteous and helpful.
I was able to get in and out, with all her meds and gauze wrapping within 30 minutes, and the best part was that it didn't cost me an arm and leg. This business is wonderful gem to have in this area. I'll be going here until I move out of the state, if that ever happens.

I have seen all 4 vets here and really like all of them. Prices are always affordable and all the employees are so nice! I would highly recommend them!

I have since left Texas and really miss the quality care my dogs received at this vet. They are very honest and skilled. I never had to worry about being overcharged.

After taking our 6 month old puppy to Windhaven Vet Cl inc and shelling out over $400 on all kinds of needless tests to only find out she had whipworm we decided maybe we needed to find a new vet. Someone recommended we try Parker Animal and Bird Clinic. Next time our girl was ill we took her to Dr. Whetstone. She was AWESOME! She diagnosed the problem with no evasive tests prescribed some antibiotics and our girl recovered fast and is now 100% healthy. Dr. Whetstone was gentle and compassionate. She made sure to answer all of my questions and I left feeling really good about the care she provided. Our girl has gone to her ever since. Now we have a new puppy and he will be in her care. I would never go anywhere else. They are really reasonably priced but the service is top notch.

I was fairly new to town and extremely skeptical about finding a excellent veterinary care for my cats. Fortunately, someone recommended Parker Animal and Bird Clinic and it has turned out to be an excellent recommendation. Dr. Whetstone manages the care of my boys and she is first rate. However, it does seem as if overall the other doctors and staff focus on providing excellent care to their animal patrons and owners. Dr. Whetstone and the others leave no stone unturned when it comes to diagnosing a problem and are ready to provide the best treatment and/or referral to a specialist, if necessary. What an amazingly knowledgeable and responsive group.

Years ago, I adopted a beautiful dog that no one wanted because she had pneumonia and heart worms. Dr. Blonien got her over the Pneumonia and then treated her for heart worms. Don't let me kid you, she was sick. He walked us through each step of the process of treating her during the 6 month treatment process. She made it thru it. Dr. Blonien was a referral by the Animal Shelter. It has been over 6 years and we have adopted two more dogs. They all go here.

This is a truly a 5 star veterinarian clinic. Highly recommended. The entire staff cares about families, as well as pets. We think Dr. Whetstone rocks--she save our hamster's leg!

Really friendly staff

I was seen in ten minutes and i was a walk in

The doctor was nice and made sure i had no questions

I will be sure to bring my bird back if anything happens

It was only 50 dollars to see my cockatiel

We can't say enough good things about the clinic and staff !!

We have loved Clancy, our 8 year old husky-mix since we got her at 4 months of age and for those 8 years we have exclusively used
Plano A&B Clinic.

Dr Blonien and Dr Whetstone have cared for Clancy the past month
as she had developed caner on one of her kidneys. After final diagnosis by sonagram revealed it was not an infection nor "stones", Dr Blonien came in after hours to remove it.

AND THAT's NOT ALL !!

Vicki and Sarah and Kathrine have always been so kind and helpful as has been the whole staff !!! So a big shout-out and many many "Thank Yous" come your way.

Sadly, our 14-year old cat had to be put to sleep after he suffered irreversible kidney failure. The care of the staff gave us an additional quality year with him, but it became apparent over Labor Day he was in irreversible renal failure. Dr. Whetstone and staff were incredibly remarkable in their care of our baby and helped us through a most difficult time, including running final tests at no charge just on the hope he might be pulling out of his failure. They had a separate room for us to be with Sims when he was put to sleep and gave us time and privacy to be with him. They also sent a sympathy card signed by the entire staff. We now have 2 kittens and just made our appt. for their first checkup. We would go nowhere else for quality, affordable and really one-on-one care!!!

I took my dog here for the first time last week. This is the ONLY time he has not whined or cried while getting his shots. I was super impressed with the staff. I arrived at 8 a.m. and there were about 4 other families there with pets and I thought - great I am gonna be stuck here forever! NOPE - they are so organized and got everyone exactly where they need to be. I was in and out in 40 minutes. He got all his shots, a heart worm test, and a thorough physical exam.

Price is great! The vet I saw (I don't remember his name) was so nice and professional. My dog had a great experience! We got a new dog this week, and he will be going here as well.

I took my cat there last week after I took my cat to Banfield when she was feeling lethargic. Banfield not only nickeled and dimed me, but they were pre-diagnosing her with Diabetes, hinting at cancer and some grave diseases. I took her to Parker Animal & Bird the next day where they looked over her chart and felt that her enzyme and glucose levels were more from the stress of being at the Vets office. They prescribed Clavamox and sent us on our way. My cat is doing 100% better. Banfield even called the next day to start her on Insulin!!!

I will not go anywhere else but Parker Animal & Bird.

Great place. My mom has been taking her dogs to this place for years. Now that I have dogs of my own, I moved just a little further away and tried a place by my house. I was charged so much that I could barely afford to get my dogs shots. My mom told me I was paying too much. I then began to take my pets to the place my mom had always used, Parker Animal and Bird Clinic. This place is great! They are so inexpensive compared to other places and they are so attentive and caring for the animals. They never over charge and they always know how to help my little ones. Great Vet!

My experience is always a good one, even if I am there with a sick or injured pet. The team is helpful, caring, friendly, and will do the best they can for you and your pet. It is such a blessing to have great confidence in the Veterinarians taking care of your pets. Dr. Blonien is the doctor we have visited the most over the years, and he is great! We've used Parker Animal and Bird Clinic exclusively over the years. When my first dog was near the end, they were extremely compassionate. We currently use them for our 2 dogs and they are always fantastic.

I recommend them highly

I took my 8-year-old dog in with an inflamed cryptorchid. There were lots of dogs there, but the staff was SO organized and professional! I only had to wait about 10 minutes to see a doctor. Dr. Whetstone was so gentle and kind to my dog, and when he was cowering on the floor, she got down there to examine him. They performed his surgery and he is now good as new! The prices are extremely reasonable, and this is a well-run, caring clinic. I will definitely go there again!

My Cocker Spaniel is a previous patient of this clinic. When Dr. Shelton left we followed him, but you could not ask for more wonderful vets/staff. Cost is extremely reasonable as they try to keep it low so that all people can afford good pet care.

I've taken my assortment of pets here for 15 years, having found them after another vet suggested I put down my very sick cat. Dr. Blonien not only saved me beloved pet, but was with her when she passed 15 years later. I would not trust the life of any of my pets to anyone else.

My cockatoo had heavy metal poisoning and might not have made it, but the wonderful doctor and his staff were so dedicated and caring to my bird that she is now home and doing great. The staff is friendly and petted and played with Hermosa every day and allowed me to visit for as long as I wanted every day while she was hospitalized. The doctor even offered to allow me to come in on Sunday, when they were closed. I couldn't be happier with the clinic and highly recommend it.

Dr. Blonien has taken care of our animals for over 13 years and I dont think you CAN find anyone more compassionate. Once as I was leaving after an appointment my car wouldnt start. Dr B took time out of his day to get his truck and give me a jump start! How's that for bonus service? Also, our neighborhood had a problem with feral cats. People would abandon their cats and next thing you know we had dozens all over the place! The neighborhood took up a collection, rented humane traps and Dr. Blonien agreed to spay/neuter as many as we could catch at a huge discount. He notched their ears so we could tell which ones had already been fixed-we caught the same one 3 times!Dr. Shelton is excellent as well and Dr. Whetstone has proved to be a great addition to the team. Last time we went in we saw Dr. Whetstone-she was so gentle but very thorough. The office staff is professional and kind-they recently expanded the clinic so the waiting room is bigger. They also do grooming and boarding.They really are the best-I cant say enough!

I have been using this veterinarian clinic for nearly 12 years! Several new vets have moved into my area, but I refuse to give up the kindness and great care that this clinic gives. I just love Dr. Shelton and Dr. Blonien. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is new to the area, or just got a new pet. They're the BEST!

I have been using Parker Animal and Bird Clinic for years. Not only are they willing to work with you if you're in a rough spot, but they have a low price shot clinic twice a month. Every service there is reasonable, and the vets/techs will treat your animal like their own. I lost two of my old dogs less than 3 months apart, and they were nothing but kind and gentle in helping me cope with my horrible loss. They're extra gentle with my grouchy Schnauzer, and I've never had a single complaint about them once.

PROS: Affordable, Gentle, and Loving
CONS: None whatsoever!

I love taking my two cats to this vet. They are very friends and I usually don't have to wait too long. They will even try and help you over the phone if they can't get you in soon enough. I would recommend this vet to anyone with a new pet

When our African Gray injured his wing, we rushed him to this office. I was impressed at how fast they worked us in, and how gentle they were with our sweet bird. They seemed reasonable on pricing, and I oerheard them tell another patient they will do payment plans if necessary. They said the doctor does not want any animals to suffer because their owners cannot afford treatment. I was touched by that, as many vets do not offer such kindness.

The only negative thing is the parking lot is a big torn up. Not too much of a problem, other than bothersome and annoying.

I personally have not used this vet because I live on the other side of town but as I volunteer with animals, people at work ask me to recommend vets, etc. One of my friends told me about this vet (Dr. Blonein) she told me that she drives across Dallas just because she believes he is the best. Recently her dog was found to have a large tumor. Dr. Blonein has done two surgeries and I have been amazed at the obvious honesty and integrity that has shone through in the treatment. My friend has received first class treatment for her dog at a very affordable price. I have since recommended him to others in our office and all have been very pleased. I may decide to drive across town myself if I need a vet!

These vets really know what they are doing! Everyone there is very helpful and friendly. They take care of you and your pets like you are family. You don't sit forever in the waiting room, unless of course they have an emergency case. Then, they will keep you informed so you aren't sitting and waiting unknowingly. Couldn't ask more from these vets!
