HORRIBLE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!! Tour guide was dull and rude. He sat in the front seat pointing at things and never turned around to acknowledge the riders or answer questions. He just narrated a script he had memorized word by word. even lost his place once and said the same paragraph over again, word by word. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR! it was not fun, let alone funny!!! dull, dull, dull.

I took the DUCK tour a couple of weeks ago and yes it was a tour around the island. The driver was OK, nothing special but the tour was fun. I was not expecting to go into the water (even though I was told I was ??) my kids enjoyed it a lot. There were various tours throughout the day I went on the 2:20? tour, we loaded and unloaded right on seawall blvd, and my kids loved it. It did get a little long with the history thing for them but i enjoyed that part. It was a bit pricey. I did not do any of the other tours on the island but there were others cheaper. I think next time I will do one of them instead.

I have never written a review online before - but maybe this will keep someone else from such rude treatment. We bought tickets at 11:55 for 12:30 tour and young lady told us to be back 10 to 15 min before time (12:15 to 12:20)which we were. In fact we walked up at 12:13 and the Duck was already loaded except for us. I had an elderly father, a 6 and 10 year old with me. There were no seats left together. When I asked the Driver about the time and why they were loaded so early he said "get on or get left" When I got on and saw how spread out we were with such young kids I said we would wait for next one and he said "no" I was trying to get my chlldren and father situated in the safest places since we couldn't be together and the Driver said even more rudely to "sit down, do you have a problem sitting by someone?". I don't think it unusual that someone in my situation would want to assure that an elderly father and young children were safely seated in such a vehicle, but apparently he did. He made a sarcastic comment as we passed the Visitor Center that that would be the place to complain if you didn't like your seat. After the tour, I tried to suggest that they just warn families about the time issue and he walked past me without giving me eye contact and said "tell the employer's, I'm not the owner". I did speak with the young lady on the street selling tickets and she was very apologetic and said that the 10 to 15 min ahead was what they were told to tell people. My elderly father who was born and raised on Galveston was really upset, my 6 year old was crying. I understand if we had been late, but we weren't and even at that it wouldn't have hurt him to give me a minute or 2 to get my gang situated - especially since he left a good 10 minutes before schedule (took off at 12:20) I HIGHLY recommend one of the other tour options like the train - Please do not give this company your business.

The Galveston Duck Tours takes an hour long trip around Galveston Island, first touring the land and some of the historic districts, and the out into the water to explain a little more about the great island city. There is a great view and breeze once out in the water, and the ticket prices are $7 for adults, $5 for kids. They load and unload right on the seawall.
