It is one of the best dinning experience ever. First class dinner, wine and personal attention. Born and raised in New Orleans, I had the privilege to try many wonderful restaurants and this is my new #1 favorite. I am still thanking my husband for this wonderful surprise. We will be back again and again.
Pros: Food and Service

Best Experience Ever
by woodlandsfan
I was invited to this place last weekend & I have to say that it was the best dining experience I have ever had! From the Menu to the Wine list one thing that stood out the most out of the entire evening was the personal attention from the Owner & what appears to be his family. It gave me a flash back of a restaurant that we ate in France on our Honey Moon. I can't wait to go back & convince them to open a Restaurant like this in The Woodlands. I can see ourselves & our Law Firm hosting many special clients from all over the world at thi spectacular place.
P.S. Keep up the good work & consider opening a location here in The Woodlands. We could use a Fine Dining French Restaurant like this ASAP!

Customer Beware
by kwmom
I used to enjoy lunch every so often with girlfriends or dinner with my husband at Caf? du Bois. That was until my last and final visit.
I had printed a coupon from the Entertainment book webpage. It was for 20% off up to a certain value. There were no restrictions on the coupon and it could be printed once a month. When I presented the coupon to the waiter, he came back to the table and said he could not accept it. Thinking he was confused, I asked to speak with the manager. The manager not only refused to accept the coupon, but was rude and told me it was only for dinner. I tried to point out to him there was nothing on the coupon indicating this, but he would not even look at the coupon and instead repeatedly asked me if I would like him to cancel my lunch order. Irritated, I finally replied ?Did I ask you to cancel the order?? He then cancelled my order and told me to leave. My friend and I were flabbergasted. 20% off lunch for two would only have been about $6! This restaurant has coupons EVERYWHERE and they wouldn?t even accept their own coupon! I decided to call the restaurant later that evening to speak with the owner. The owner did not apologize, said the coupon was a mistake and I had been rude to the manager. I could not believe the poor customer service. For a mere $6 it seems like they would be more interested in keeping customers than treating them like criminals. They really treated me like I was trying to pull off something illegal.
The Veranda is a much better restaurant and they are always happy to see us. Plus, they have no problem with accepting their own coupons!
Pros: None I can think of
Cons: Why be abused?

Uncomfortable
by CSMobileUser2
We ate here a while ago and have not been back, as the uncomfortable experience outweighed the pleasing food. The owner's brother (I believe) had a wonderful presence and style. Unfortunately, his much smaller and very frail looking brother (the owner?) Joined him to talk with us at our table. He was either not in a healthy state or his ego was a joke. He had strings hanging from his sleeves, dragging thru who knows what, and seemed to pretend he owned a restaurant on the upper east side of Manhattan. The conversation was not brief and a check on our meal, but a life long saga of trials and triumphs. We have not returned.

WOW!
by Rocketfan31
Fantastic Food! I dine here once a week and have to tell you, while the resturant is small, the exceptional staff and food make up for the atmosphere. Some of the best lunch in Kingwood and Dinner is even better. Always treated like part of the family when I go in. It is always a great dining experience!

Best Place in Houston metro area
by icufly
I live in Washington, DC and everytime I travel to the Houston area I go the Cafe Du Bois. I just love the way we get treated there. The food is excellent and the staff is exceptional when it comes to pairing wine with certain dishes. I have never had a bad experience here. If you live anywhere in Houston area, you have got to make your way to Kingwod. The last time we were there, the owner's mom made us crepes that were to die for. We even got to meet mama. They have an extensive wine list but work with the staff on the wine with food. The next time we are in town, we are going to let them select our food and wine. Like I said, you have got to get Kingwood!
Pros: The knowledge of the Staff
Cons: When dinner is over

EXCEPTIONAL FOOD CHOICES, SERVICE, AND ATMOSPHERE
by ALADSA
My dininig experience at Cafe Du Bois was exceptional! The food, staff, service, price, and ambience was total perfection. We have dined at numerous 5 star establishements in Houston, other states, and countries and have found Cafe Du Bois superior to all other dining establishments. It is wonderful to feel as if you are coming home and having your own personal chef not only create a fabulous meal but create the total five star dining experience. We have been patrons of Cafe Du Bois for seven plus years and never have been disappointed. We have booked private dinner parties and enjoyed many meals with friends and family and they also share our opinion of the wonderful service, food, and atmosphere. We would like to keep this fine restaurant a secret but word is spreading that if you want an exceptional meal---Cafe Du Bois is the place to dine! Angelo and Delilah Arolfo
Pros: Great food and service, menu variety, personable.

Worst Dining Experience
by dkingwood
This was one of the worst experiences. I sat at the table with a friend trying to enjoy a quiet meal. The owner came to the table next to us and proceeded to yell at one of the patrons. Everyone in the restaurant was uncomfortable. I can not say that the food was anything to cause me to go back to a place where the owner is ok with yelling at customers. The tables are very small, parking is limited, and the ambience is lacking. I tried it but will not be going back again.
Pros: leaving
Cons: owner is unstable, parking lacking, tables very small,
