Worst experience I have ever had with a vet clinic...no Dr. Pendery was not attending that day and but rather his stand-in who has the bedside manner of a warthog. I will gladly contribute a small amount of money to see her attend charm school. She and the assistant did not greet me or listen to anything I had to say. Instead the two fussed over which muzzle to use on my dog like a couple of armatures. Finally the Dr. handed me the muzzle to put on my dog as if I were her assistant. Dr. Pendery on the other hand, is a caring professional who is genuine and pleasant to be around. Never again will I see that vet.
This vet is GREAT! We are in town for business and our pup ingested something and got very ill. We went to the emergency clinic and they said she needed surgery. I called around and found this clinic close to where we are staying. The front desk personnel was wonderful. The place is clean and neat. The doctor was absolutely compassionate and gentle. Even though I was worried about my little girl, I felt confident that the doctor would take very good care of her. I will definitely use this doctor as long as we're in town!
Dr. Pendery has treated my dogs for nearly 15 years and I look forward to many more years of outstanding treatment. The staff is friendly and courteous and Dr. Pendery is always professional, compassionate and kind to my pups. I've also been to Dr. Querner when Dr. Pendery isn't available. She too is top notch. I highly recommend Valwood Animal Hospital.
Dr. Pendery is the most considerate and helpful vet I've ever experienced in my 35 years of having dogs. He went above and beyond what I'd expect when my dog had an untreatable problem, checking with us almost daily to see if my dog was responding. Even now that I've moved and taken on two other dogs, I travel quite some distance from Central Dallas to continue to take my dogs to him for the caring and responsive service I've received for the last 8 years.
Dr. Pendry and Dr. Querner are both great vets. We tend to have Dr. Pendry work with our little dog and he is so great with him the dog doesn't even mind going there! Great bedside manner and makes the dog comfortable with him. Dr. Querner has handled 8 of our cats over the years and does a great job. She has many dogs and cats of her own at home and loves animals. We have gone to this veterinarian for 8 years and have all great things to say.
I don't know what a previous person to post on this site was talking about, nor do I know where this person allegedly learned to type. What I do know is that I have been using this vet for years. Dr. Querner and Dr. Pendry have always been very kind and attentive to my pets. The staff is cordial and friendly and I've never had question about what I'm going to be charged for any visit, let alone have I ever been mislead or lied to. Dr. Pendry cared one of my dogs all the way through untreatable bone cancer and he could not have been more helpful or supportive through an awful time for me. These folks, staff included are GREAT.
I have 2 dogs and was told when making it apointment it would be 18 per dog. After the apointment the gave me a bill of over $200. Make sure you find out exactly how much everything will cost before you get in the room and make sure you find out what they are doing before it happens. Do not rely on the office staff to do their job and relay what needs to be done to the doctor.
My pet has been a patient of Valwwod Animal Hospital for nearly 2 yrs and I would not go anywhere else. Prior to being referred by a friend, I had taken my pet(s) to several other places, none which won my loyalty over the past 19 years. My 19 yr old cat received the best care and the vets were more than kind and patient when caring for her. I never felt less than confident and safe entrusting the care of my beloved to them.
PROS: Privately owned, caring staff, animal lovers
CONS: Small facility, but clean & personable
