5 Stars: Heritage Veterinary Med Ctr is an EXCEPTIONAL Place to go (by Mary R.)

I found the note below questionable and have to question it myself. I have never experienced what is described below. I have been going to Dr. Ehrlund since 1985. Her new location is exceptional. I have toured the whole place and it is clean! I mean cleaner than the human hospital that I work in! So, the reason below, by AA, that they go into the back and won't let you there is definitely not because it is dirty. Did you ever think that maybe your animal was nervous being in the room with you because he/she is not by you? Sometimes going to another room may help to calm them. It's like when I take my 6 year old to school; she seems nervous to leave me yet the teacher says she is one of the most playful kids in class. If you think you are due monies, I suggest going back and talking to Dr. Ehrlund and tell her your concerns.

4 Stars: Heritage Animal Hospital is GREAT (by Crystal S.)

When I call to make a boarding reservation the ladies at Heritage are immediately recognize my voice. I wanted to board my puppy with them and they are so excited when i tell them that she is going to stay with them. I think that she gets lots of attention when I am away because they always joke with me that they want to keep her. i know that they are taking great care of her while she is there.

1 Stars: Questionable practices (by A A.)

I called this business looking for boarding service for my dog. I was advised that it was approximately $15 a night(includes food) and that the dog must be current on his shots and have the rabies and Bordetella shot. I was told that the rabies and Bordetella can be administered for $70 which includes an exam required for Rabies. I took the dog to the location. They seemed very disorganized. The guy who was tending to the dog was not very animal friendly. He held the dog in a choke position when the dog became jumpy. Then another person came in and gave the dog something that was supposedly the bordetella but after that the dog got very quiet so I personally think it was kind of sedative. Then I was told that I could just leave the dog in the room and someone would take the dog in. I opted to wait. Then the guy who administered the shot, came in and took the dog back. No one was allowed in the back, I think this is questionable because I think that is because they do not want people to see the condition of the area or the condition of how the animals were kept. Then I went to the front and the guy had to keep going back and asking questions of someone else as to what to do and then he said it was ok to leave. I asked about the rabies shot and he said it had to wait till the Vet could examine the dog and administer. I was charged 69.20 for the bordetella and boarding. I was told the Rabies will be charged when I come back bcuz he needed a tag number. I left. Then I went back on Tuesday to pick up the dog. I waited almost 30 mins b4 I was greeted or attended to. The girl at the front desk keep doing the same thing as the other guy, going back and asking questions. Then someone asked what I needed, attempted to help me couldnt. The other person took over. She told me I was due for $160+, I asked if that is given me credit for what I previously paid, she was unaware that I paid anything. Then I inquired why so much, then I learnt that they administered at PDHLP Vaccine without my consent, 35.37. She does not know why it was administered, then she called someone she said was a boss and without even looking at file, she said it was bcuz the dog was not current on his shots (this indicates that this is a scam they always run on people/applying charges that they were not previously aware of unto their bill). Said that she was going to the dr and came back I said I could do post dated check, but still went ahead and gave me total of 95.48 which included the service they administered without my consent. I just paid and got out of there. Here is my thing, 1st I think they add on services without advising customers, I think the fact that they do not do this when humans are there, indicates that they do not render the services, I think that they ill treat animals bcuz of the fact that they will not let anyone to the back as well as the fact that my dog looked smaller when I picked up was full of energy like he was never walked when he was there(which was part of the deal) and kept crying and whimpering. I remembered on Saturday when a lady complained that they had done a ear pack on her dog 3 times and it still had no effect. I attempted to find a license for this place and was unable to. When I called to get a license number got no response. Bottom line is I think this place should be investigated. Several times I expressed to my kids my concern and prayed that the dog would be ok when I picked him up because of the impression I got when dropping off the dog. I would not recommend their services to anyone.

5 Stars: Just Boarded my Pet in the BEAUTIFUL indoor Airconditioned Facility (by Ann T.)

I recently boarded my pet at Heritage Veterinary Medical Center. I have been a long-standing customer of Dr. Ehrlund since 1981. I have always received EXCELLENT care for my animals. Dr. Ehrlund's kind a compassionate spirit has really helped our family over the years. I am saddened to see the response posted above. If this person would only tour the facility they would understand that no animals are boarded "outside". They simply go out for a few minutes while the staff cleans their kennel. The animals are kept indoors in one of the most beautiful boarding facilities that I have seen. Anyone can stop by and tour the facility and see the EXCELLENT & CLEAN conditions the animals stay in.

5 Stars: A Great Place (by Kristi S.)

Heritage Animal Hospital to me is the best place to take your pet that's in need of medical care or just a check-up. I have only had positive experiences with this great place.
