Having had my windows installed by American Eagle in June, I'm pleased to report that my utility bills for this past summer were less than summer 2010. In 2010 our bills ran about $330 on average for the year. This summer4 was hotter and our highest bill July-Nov was $205. We were told to expect saving in the 30% range and it's actually proved to be closer to 40%. \nThe installation was completed in one day (14 windows), I thought it would take at least 2 days. My wife was really pleased that the installation crew left no mess inside or outside of our home. When finished, they took the time to answer questions and showed us how to operate and clean the windows, which is soooo much easier than our old aluminum widows. All in all we're very pleased with our experience and would gladly do business with American Eagle again.

This review would be 3 stars, but I am only giving one star to offset Mr Stewart's 5 star rating of the same company he works for.\n\nUnfortunately, my experience from this company is high pressure sales tactics. The emotional appeal from Mr Stewart also makes me suspicious. I have heard every sales tactic in the book from them, including the special deal mentioned by Mr. Ulrich, and making my wife and I repeat the deals they offered.\n\nThat said, the window sample we were shown is excellently engineered and the salesman giving us the presentation was very courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. I simply do not believe even a window that well engineered is worth over $1000 each after installation. Perhaps I'm misinformed about window prices or the price of construction labor, but high pressure sales tactics make me believe a better deal for the same windows could be found elsewhere.

Beware the special marketing deal!. It is just a deal for the company, and is a very bad deal for you. These windows cost $100 at lowes and you can install them yourself in about 1 hr. \r\nI feel sorry for the low to middle income people this company preys upon. I feel sorry for anyone who reads these reviews and doesn't heed our warnings to stay away from this company. Its too bad - they really do have a nice product, but they have very shady marketing practices and are just out to rip people off. If you still feel like doing business with this company, then research their financing department. Find out the kind of people they give loans to, how much those people pay for their windows and for interest. Contact their previous customers, use due diligence. Don't fall for the high pressure sales tactics that this company uses. The only reason they use them is to get you to make a bad decision with limited information. Hopefully you are like me and bring out your laptop during the sales call and do your research right there in front of the salesperson if you have to. \r\n I'm sure you'll see that the profile of the people who financed windows with them are people who couldn't afford them and who didn't do any kind of research before buying the windows - they have typically mortgaged their crappy little homes to afford these overpriced windows. \r\n

Pros: 15% financing

Cons: Overpriced products, bait and switch tactics

I, like most folks, value customer loyalty. After hearing this customer's needs, I suggested they should probably go back to a company whom they had used in the past, who had given them good service and the quality they were happy with. ""No"" said the wife, ""we will only work with a company who can give us the custom kind of windows we desire."" \r\n\r\nI presented and priced the high-end custom job THEY requested. They seemed quite happy and said the only thing they needed further was to see actual samples of the various wood trims we could do. \r\n\r\nAlthough my Mom had suffered a stroke in Houston, I did not pass off the work, but instead drove miles and miles to collect the exact samples of the kinds of wood trim we could do. When I called to set a time to show them what I had assembled for them, the man was dismissive and said he had found a cheaper price. OF COURSE HE HAD!\r\n\r\nThe customer demanded the top, best, custom quality available in the market, and all the FREE service, but chose instead to go with the very company I had suggested might be their best option at our initial meeting.\r\n\r\nWhen I only asked why they had sent me all over to fetch something they did not want (after they knew the exact pricing for the work), the homeowner got angry and hung-up.\r\n\r\nWe have the best customers I have ever had the privilege of serving. Sometimes the best answer to prayer are the jobs we do not get! \r\n\r\nBy the way...my Mom has recovered and I was able to get to Houston to help, despite this customer?s demands.\r\n

Pros: Paying Close Attention To Customers' Wishes

Cons: Not All Prospects Can Be Pleased, No Matter The Effort

.

The rating is for their last impression I received after cancellation of an order. Boyd Stewart gave us a great estimate for window replacement. But as we told him we would be getting other estimates. Well we got another that was comparable at a better price, and I'm not talking about 'big box home improvement windows'. I called to cancel and the next day he calls and immediately starts attacking my decision and becomes noticeably angry and very condescending. This attitude was not just directed to me but to the competitor I chose. More professional sales people would have handled that let- down better. This guy spent 4 hours in my home giving us his sales speech. Mind you, this was the best estimate we received until his competitor. Because of his attitude and manner I will never even consider this company again.
