Every few years I make a purchase from these clowns, having forgotten their poor customer service record.
A new Beretta, when taken home, turned out to not only be in fact used but it came complete with a broken firing pin. Of course they advise the buyer to "send it back to Beretta; no returns!"
The Southwest Fwy. location is the worst. Save money, buy from Academy or even a gun show. Just avoid Carter Country.

I recently took a revolver and a scope base for some drill and tap gunsmithing work. Approximately two weeks later when I went to pick up my gun the price was almost $40 over what I was quoted when I dropped it off. The man behind the counter said that the extra charge was because the gunsmith had to "machine the base" because it was not flush with the gun. This was a custom fitting base and I fitted it prior to taking it to Carters so I knew there was something wrong here. I asked a nice young lady for a wrench and removed the base and showed this man that no extra machine work or any type of work was done at all. He became loud and upset and charged me the original quote after all. I don't think he expected me to take the gun apart there at the counter. I will not be returning to Carters Country nor will I recommend it. Be careful!

Knowledgeable staff, a bit pricey. Have good stock levels, can always find what I'm looking for when I stop in. Outdoor handgun shooting range has targets lowered to waist level, didn't really like this as they used to have them higher.
