I have been going to see Leslie for many years now and just love her and her excellent work.
Derra is phenomenal at "doing" hair and really takes the time to listen to what I want.
I recommend this salon to any of those who want immaculate care for their hair and skin!

I went to on the avenue salon becuase I was new to dallas and it was close to my apt. Erika said I needed a trim so I asked her to only cut off half an inch, she CUTE OFF 5!!! I now look like a boy! Also, she added highlights that look like a skunk! I have been crying for months now, waiting for my hair to finally grow back out. She was the WORST hairdresser I have ever had!

Cons: She cut off more than 5 inches when I only wanted half!

ERIKA IS AMAZING !!! She is by far one of the very best when it comes to what she does and has earned a reputation among many clients as a very talented stylist !
The salon offers great products, a relaxed atmosphere and the location is ideal .

As a working professional, I often find it difficult to find a salon that has flexible hours. While I could schedule for a Saturday, we all know how hard it is to squeeze one more thing into a busy Saturday. At On the Avenue, I can get an appointment on a weekday in the early evening, which is much easier for me. I also get great results, good conversation and somehow I always end up buying an extra goodie or two from the amazing selection of specialty products.

It is fantastic to find a salon that has an intimate, friendly atmosphere and the great service and results to back it up. While I am sure you will get great service with any of the professionals, I personally recommend Derra as a stylist. She does amazing work and has the rare ability to really understand what a client wants and how to make her look her best. Highly Recommend!

Derra is Fantastic!! I have tried many hair stylists in the five years that I have lived in Dallas and no one has done a better job than Derra-I always leave with the perfect color and cut. I would recommend On the Avenue Salon to anyone who is looking for a great stylist in a quaint and relaxing atmosphere.

It's kind of like Cheers - everybody knows your name. I've been getting my hair cut there for 10+ years. I always enjoy seeing everyone and catching up with Mark Marcell. My wife is a long-time client as well.

Derra is the best stylist I've ever found! She really takes time to listen to what I want, and how my life style affects my hair style. I'm very tough on my hair, but Derra always seems to make me look beautiful!

She's shown me how to use different tools at home to achieve the look she gives me. Derra never tries to sell me things I don't need, but when I ask, she'll tell me what products will work best with my hair.

Every time I sit in her chair, I feel like I'm catching up with an old friend.

When you go to Derra, she'll spoil you and you'll never go anywhere else!

Mark is the only person I would trust to cut my curly hair. I have been his client for over 10 years now and still get stopped by strangers all the time to find out where I get my hair done! He's the best. And a great guy as well. Go see him..you will be glad you did!

I have very curly hair and I have never found anyone to be able to cut it or fix it....Until now and I found Mark Marcell!!!! I found him on a website called naturallycurly where he had rave reviews. He is so laid back and makes it easy to understand what it takes to make my hair look GREAT from day to day. Thank you Mark and I look forward to every visit!!!! I LOVE On the Avenue! I have been going to both Jill and Leslie since the salon opened and can not imagine going anywhere else. I love the feeling the salon has ... very comfortable with a nice energetic buzz. The products offered are excellent, and they are always searching out new and improved products to offer. One of my favorites is the makeup they offer. It is fabulous. And, it's always nice to pick up a nice scented candle for someone special, even if it's yourself! Jill has an unbelievable talent with color that most stylists only dream of having. I originally came to Jill after a horrible perm and haircut that almost ruined my hair. She spent a lot of time getting my hair healthy again (almost a year) and I will NEVER trust anyone else with my hair. I always look forward to getting my hair done. It's just FUN. She listens to what you want and makes suggestions that make the cut and color excellent. Leslie has an uncanny way to make you feel relaxed and comfortable no matter what you are getting done. I regularly get microdermabrasion which has almost completely done away with my adult acne, not to mention helps the look of my aging skin! I even got permanent makeup on my eyebrows and eyeliner and I LOVE IT. I am a fair blonde and used to look washed out without makeup, but not anymore! I tell everyone how happy I am with it. My Mom who is in her 70s is so impressed, she wants to get her eyeliner done. My next step is getting her to do my lips! If you are looking for a salon you can feel comfortable with that makes you feel welcome and happy to serve you, this is the place. You'll never want to go anywhere else again.

On the Avenue salon has great stylists and the beauty services are fabulous. This is one fun salon. The people know you and they are really listening when you tell them what you are looking for. This kind of attention is rarely found in salons. Prices are very reasonable and they really work to accommodate your schedule.

Wow - I'm SO pleased with my highlights & lowlights from Erika at On the Avenue! We lowered my blonde highlights a bit - more of a champagne now for the fall & winter - she's amazingly talented & very personable. Erika makes me laugh & I really like how she makes suggestions all the while really listening to what I'm looking for. Her haircuts are perfect - I love my soft layers & my new semi-bangs. I also had a SeaStar peel from Leslie - very relaxing treatment & then a couple days later the very light peeling started - my skin is rejuvenated & more even toned now - loved this treatment & the results. I've had SO many compliments on my hair color and skin lately, I seriously can't count. I highly recommend On the Avenue Salon to everyone!

I have found my new salon home! Everyone was warm and welcoming and made me feel like a Queen. I had my hair cut and highlighted from a nasty fake blonde someone else had told me looked natural. I have heard more compliments in one week than I think I have heard all year. Derra was awesome and so sweet. She talked to me like a friend and our personalities clicked. She is a true expert. The prices were amazing and my transformation was priceless. I will be going back regularly and look forward to what she suggests for the winter and spring. AMAZING stylist and salon!!!!!

I adore this great salon! I have taken advantage of their current Microdermabrasion special and have been extremely pleased with the results! My hair stylist here is Erika and she is so over the top incredible. She really takes care of me and is so talented - everyone comments on my beautiful light - medium blonde highlights (and low lights). She's been doing hair extensions too for a while which I haven't ever tried but I saw a lady after she got them done and I never would have been able to tell she had the extensions unless Erika had told me - expert job in my opinion. The owners of the salon also have a wonderful selection of skin & hair products, & cosmetics too. I've been using one of their skin products over the last month & I can the results on my skin where the dark spots are going away! I highly recommend On The Avenue!
