Negligence at its worst
by nightingale80
I work for an orthopedist, and I have heard a complaint about Sports Center before, but this one takes the cake! I have gotten to know a patient who Sports Center completely injured - I have never seen a patient so badly injured and treated this way by a physical therapist ever! I am so mad and upset I had to do something. I have talked my boss into never sending another patient to Sports Center again and I hope to spread the word. I see that they have a lot of positive reviews and so would almost anyone if they had a full time marketing director. Sports Center should be ashamed!!!!

Positive 1st time P.T. experience
by tripassion
Well structured P.T. program. Frequent testing and program adjustments make sure that you are making constant progress in your rehab without over doing it.
The real unexpected bonus here was the constant motivation and positive attitude expressed by the physical therapists. They really took the time to get to know me and my injury as well as my goals and desires. Even though my injury constantly made me feel depressed, I looked forward to going to P.T. because of the people that worked there and the encouragement they gave me. Now I?m all better and sincerely grateful that I choose the Sports Center for my P.T.

AMAZING for rehab and PT
by txpanther
Sports Center taught me why my injury happened and how to move past it; I knew very little about knee problems prior to my arrival. The team gave me the tools to better myself and to prevent another knee injury. I had a specially tailored in house PT program that we evaluated each session and there was some work at home. (But it was all part of my recovery.) I am back to running, playing tennis and working out harder than I was prior to walking in the door. I feel stronger and more confident in my knees knowing that with their help I have reformed the building blocks needed to continue with healthy knee movements. I NEVER called my insurance company or had to deal with the headache of hold times and automated systems. They handled everything with a smile! AMAZING staff and superior facilites.
Pros: Flexable scheduling, super smart staff!
Cons: Centrally located, hit traffic a few times from North Austin

The Best Athlete Centered Physical Therapy
by betty1003
I had a femur stress fracture that literally stopped me in my tracks while preparing for an Ironman. Devastated, after 6 weeks on crutches, I still couldn't walk without a limp and running looked forever away. My doctor recommended Sports Center. I was skeptical; I thought I would never be right again. The injury had disrupted a very athletic lifestyle and made me doubt my abilities in a huge way.
I am whole again and running, riding, swimming. Thanks to the care and expertise given me by the Sports Center staff. They absolutely got me back to what I wanted to be doing in a methodical, safe, but effective way.
Pros: I'm running again
Cons: They are busy!

Sports Center took away my dreams, put me in a wheelcair
by batgirrrl
When I entered physical therapy, I had just come back from hiking through Italy, where I had experienced some difficulty and pain, but I was not diabled in any way. After spending months training at Sports Center to stregthen my tendon, Lori pushed me past my limits, even though I told her repeatedly that I felt like it was wrong and I was injuring myself. I was right, and I suffered the most painful, worst injury of my life. After the injury, cold as a fish, Lori then blamed the injury on me. Not only have all my dreams of quitting my job and traveling around the world been stolen from me at this moment, I am still in a lot of pain.
I have asked Sports Center to give me a refund of the monies I paid. This is the least they could do considering what I have lost due to their treatment of me and the fact that I had to use a wheelchair to get to class and other places. But, now it seems like I am getting the run around and I can't get a response to my phone calls. THIS is how Sports Center takes care of those people who they do injustice to.
Sports Center, why don't you care about what you did to me??? You've destroyed me financially, emotionally, and physically...
Cons: Put me in a wheelchair

Beyond Physical Therapy
by Leisa McLelland
When I think of physical therapy I think of torture sessions. Not this time. I had knee problems and a shoulder injury and Sports Center eased me back into shape without missing a step. In addition, they have an amazing follow up program that keeps me in shape and makes sure I don't get injured again. The staff is amazing.
Pros: Out of the Box Program
Cons: None that I can See

by jrc3393
I was a baseball pitcher that almost tore everything in my shoulder. I thought that I would never be able to throw again. After surgery and only 2.5 months of therapy I feel that my return to the mound is becoming a reality. Kate (my therapist) really seemed to care about my recovery. She made my injured shoulder stronger and more flexible than my good shoulder. If I ever need therapy again, I will return to Sports Center. Jason Cook
Pros: Actually looked forward to PT
Cons: none

Helping you change your habits
by Pamela P
I've been doing physical therapy on and off for about 20 years. Sports Center is the first place that had me looking at and thinking about my whole body and how things are connected, versus just the source of pain. The exercises are challenging, and help me feel like I'm progressing and getting stronger. I like how Christine takes a personal interest in how I'm doing, noting any changes to routines or potential problems, and finding remedies to solve as well as prevent future potential injuries. She's just fantastic. The women in the front: Ellie, Priscilla, and Katie are all so welcoming and engaging. They make me feel like I'm someone they care about (even from my first visit!). Having a personal experience for medical care is important to me, and I'm thankful I have Sports Center to help me reach my goals (and beyond), while doing it with care. I recommend Sports Center to those who want to work out and recover from their injuries in an active way. If you want pampering and massage, this is not the place for you. They make you work for your recovery and set you on a track for a healthier lifestyle.
Pros: Christine: she rocks
Cons: Sometimes lots of patients & thus less personal attention

great place for PT

I would recommend Sports Center for anyone who is looking for a PT place here in Austin. The staff is friendly and knowleadgable, and they DO care about getting you back to doing the things that you loved pre injury.
Pros: friendly atmosphere, knowleadgable PTs
Cons: too many clients = lack of 1-1 attention

Sports Center gives you a personalized therapy plan!
by Cindy Samok
I tore my miniscus and decided to give therapy a try rather than have surgery. Sports Center was recommended by a running buddy who also gave me Doug Kelsey's "LIttle Book of Sparks", which is a great "pick me up".
After an initial consultation and explanation of my injury from Ryan, I received an individualized play book that contained my exercises that would help me return to running. The staff was friendly and knowledgable and provided weekly feedback.
The atmosphere at Sports Center was very relaxed and all the staff knew my name. They were always positive and motivating.
After a final evaluation and assesssment, I graduated and was given a return to running program and exercises to do at home. I am now running pain free and looking forward to the 'Fall racing season!
Thank you Sports Center.

I drove there from Atlanta for treatment...
by LaceyBloom
The short story: The Sports Center method works! And it isn't mind-numbingly boring or painful.
The long story: A year ago I was in "conventional" physical therapy in my hometown for knee pain from "runner's knee". After 6 days of in house treatment and a month of homework I was WORSE. Now both knees, a hip and my back hurt! I felt awful and I started getting scared... will I ever run again? Heck, will I ever not hurt again???
I had been reading The View, the Sports Center blog, for a few years and knew their ideas about healing were "new" and different. (Yes, cartilage can heal...) But they are in Austin... I'm in Atlanta...would they, could they treat me from out of town? I called and talked it over with the helpful Sports Center staff and they agreed to see me. But I honestly had to ask myself...am I worth that kind of effort? The drive to/from Atlanta, the hotel bills, the time away from work. My pain quickly persuaded me that this wasn't an "effort" as much as an investment... Yes I am worth the investment. (ok, I was also desperate)
Christine at SC asked me 100 questions, listened to my answers and put me through some tests so she could see exactly what was wrong - where I was injured. She understood that for someone with an active life, like me, my physical injuries and limitations weren't just physically painful but emotional and spiritually painful and we talked about how to deal with those pains, also. She thoroughly explained the Sports Center methodology, explained my injuries to me, and walked me through the process of healing.
After a week she sent me home with work to do... but I was not "on my own". Christine gave me specific exercises, told me what to expect, how to progress and then followed up with me. The exercises did not hurt - in fact, most of them felt good. Nor were they mind numbingly boring or insanely repetitive. I felt stronger and less painful very quickly.
She also empowered me with information so I could take control of my own health, not just through the healing process, but information that will help me train smart and stay healthy.
In the end, it was really a small investment for a huge payoff... I am running again. I can sit through a movie (and a flight to Europe!) without back pain. And not to get shallow here... but you should see my legs and my butt! I got Buns of Steel without the hokey video...
One of the mottos at SC is that every injury is an invitation to a healthier life... they're right. It's true. I can honestly say now that I am THANKFUL for my injuries... I am a physically, emotionally and spiritually healthier person now because of them. Thanks Sports Center!
Pros: It works! I'm running again....
Cons: SC is far far away from my home in Atlanta

Amazing Physical Therapy
by OldGrandad
Having never undergone physical therapy before, I was a bit nervous as a newbie coming into an environment I had never experienced. However, from my initial phone contact with the reception desk to exercising with my therapist, the people at the Sports Center make you feel not only welcome but empowered for having walked (or limped) through their door.
Therapists work with you to ensure that you're doing the right exercises the right way and to make sure that you understand what's going on with your body. The former heals you and makes you physically improve, and the latter gives you the information you need to avoid injury once you leave the Sports Center. Physical therapists work collaboratively, so you're really able to take advantage of a team of professionals rather than one. And they're extremely enthusiastic about their patients' improvement, which relationship augments patients' own attitudes toward their healing process.
Without question, should I need physical therapy in the future, I will undertake it at the Sports Center.
Pros: Knowledgeable Professionals, Flexible Hours

I went in to Sports Center after a painful soccer injury. With patience and a lot of help from the team there I have overcome my injury and have also reinforced all muscles needed to get back into the field. This is a great place for working people who want to get back to active life.
Thank you,
Juan

Great place for physical therapy
by Joe Dean
I had a severe knee injury 10 months ago resulting in tears in 3 spots of the miniscus. I had a surgery 4 years ago on that knee and my orthopaedic scheduled a new surgery with no guarantee of a full post-surgery recovery. A second opinion from another orthopaedic confirmed the need for surgery but recommended to try physical therapy first for 2 months. He referred me to the Sports Center and I went there. The initial diagnostic test by the therapy specialist revealed a terrible shape of my knee. I was feeling pain with almost every move involving my knee. He set up a recovery plan and we started executing it right away: half a dozen supervised exercises at the Center and a couple others on my own at home. At the end of the first week I could tell that things were turning around. Progress continued gradually and steadily for the following 3 months until I graduated. I am now enrolled in a gym and I am doing all types of exercises 4 days a week. Surgery? No longer needed. Knee pain? That's history since the time I graduated from Sports Center. Still, what gives Sports Center its highest marks is the oustanding friendliness, knowledge, and willingness to help of its staff.

Incredible, simply incredible
by EddieM98
This was my first experience with Physical Therapy and after my initial visit, I recommended it to my friends. I had not even had one treatment and already was so impressed, I told my friends to go there if they ever had a sports injury. From the smiling faces at the front desk to the special attention and details given during therapy, Sports Center has it covered. I received incredible help while there and was given exercises and help through email as I continued making progress after I left. I am here to tell you that I have complete and utter confidence in the staff at Sports Center and would give you money if you did not agree. You have to follow the program and put your heart in it and you will heal and become stronger and fitter.
Pros: Help, atmosphere, attitude, results
Cons: ZERO

Where the client (patient) is a partner
by SCC11
The PTs take the responsibility to custom design the therapy regimen for each client, and revise it according to the client's progress, or not. However, the client is an actively engaged participant, not merely the recipient of the Therapy. The extent to which the client actively "presses" to achieve her/his goals plays a large role in his/her full recovery, and i believe this jointly shared responsibility makes the "Sports Center" better and different than most others.
Pros: Unsurpasssed expertise & shared responsibility
Cons: None , in my experience

BEST BEST BEST PHYSICAL THERAPY IN TOWN
by MarshaP
I broke my leg in November 2008. I had a choice of where I could go for PT. I am so glad I chose the Sports Center. From the initial assessment to each interval assessment thereafter, I was able to watch my progress. The professionals at the Sports Center far surpass any I've ever seen (and I've had the need for PT on numerous occassions), from the reception/administrative staff (always smiling...always called me by name!) to my top notch Physical Therapist, Ryan--it was a very rewarding experience! The PT's KNOW what they are talking about...and they all are so encouraging. You must give them a try!
Pros: Detailed Assessment/Professional Staff/Friendly Atmosphere
Cons: zero

Best PT place!

I experienced an injury over a year ago, and after several unsuccessful PT's, as fate would have it, I landed at Sports Center. The experience has been nothing but positive and for the first time in 2 years, I actually see myself running again. Oh how I miss it. Sports Center has top of line equipment, exercises and Physical Therapists. They really are the best PT place in town!

Professional Therapy. Amazing results.
by JoeT
If you do your part they definitely do theirs.
Middle age caught me by surprise when I decided to get back into basketball & volleyball. Within four weeks I could no longer sit, stand, walk, or anything else, without knee pain. After six weeks of pain killers and no change I went to my Orthopedic for my diagnosis: bone contusion & degenerative arthritis.
On my first visit to Sports Center they evaluated my condition, worked with me setting goals, and gave me a 5-8 month prognosis which I decided would have to be done in 3.
The next 7 months was an experience I won't forget. There is simply no substitute for a professional, knowledgeable, experienced family of therapists to guide you. They didn't just coach, nudge, push and prod me back to good health. They used consistent measure steps and kept careful records. They made clear my own role in my success. And they were always happy to answer my questions and make adjustments when I had concerns. On top of all that they kept it fun too. I know I'll never be young again, but my knees haven't felt this good in years and now I know how to manage them myself.
Thank you to Laurie and the entire staff for helping me through this difficult and scary time. You?re awesome!
Love those tailgaters!
Pros: Disciplined methods, predictable results, fun too!
Cons: A bit out of my way, but worth it.

The Best Physical Therapy in the STATE
by Texan4Life
I graduated from there, and i can say for sure that it is by far the best place for physical therapy that I have ever been to, I am a athlete and with that I have hurt myself in the past. I have done a lot of physical therapy both in Colorado and in Texas and nothing can come close to the care, kindness and respect that I got from Sports Center. Those who chose to come here will not regret it !!!

Best place for PT
by KateCrawford
If you are thinking about rehabbing an injury, I would definitely recommend Sports Center. You are greeted by three lovely ladies at the front desk, who are extremely well organized. If you ever have insurance or scheduling issues, they could not be more helpful. All the physical therapists/techs are exceptionally nice and are genuinely interested in your recovery. It doesn?t hurt that Sports Center is well equipped with many machines you will never find in a gym, multiple tvs and great music playing. This is my fourth surgery that I have had to rehab and my first experience at Sports Center. It is BY FAR the best place I have ever been to for physical therapy and am honestly sad that I did not find it sooner.
Although all the physical therapists were great, Debbie was particularly wonderful. She listened to my goals and created a program to eventually get me there. She paced me when I was pushing my knee too hard and motivated me when I was being lazy. It was obvious that she has had many years of experience and knew when to listen to pain and when to push through it. I was extremely lucky to get such a well educated physical therapist and I could not be more grateful for this experience. From what I?ve heard, most patients have a very similar experience with whoever they end up with as their physical therapist; I am just biased ?
I would whole-heartedly recommend Sports Center (especially Debbie) to anyone that wants a quick and smooth recovery.
Pros: Well Equipped, Great Staff, positive environment for rehab
Cons: NONE!!

The Only Place I Would Ever Go To For PT
by Jcrawford87
From the minute I walked in to the minute I walked out everyone was always friendly. This included the front desk help to every physical therapist. Everyone knows your name. I also appreciated the time that was put into making my program specific to my goals and situation. Without Sports Center I would still be having knee problems and probably would not be able to run. Sports Center taught me how to take care of my knees but also ways to push myself to be a better active person.
Pros: Friendly professional service
Cons: Absolutely NONE!!!!!!

by grumpybear22
It will work if you communicate with your PT. It probably won't if you don't. There's no more I can add about good things that you can't read in all the other 5-star reviews, except that Debbie is awesome; I'm not sure if anyone mentioned her awesomeness yet.
I had severely restricted movement for almost two years. I never thought I'd get better, but I did. Like a miracle that involves lots of hard work.
You'll get better if you work hard and COMMUNICATE! If you suffer in pain through the exercises, you're not doing anyone any good.
Pros: You'll get better, nuff said
Cons: You have to work for it.

Thanks for everything
by TLLAustin
I have spent plenty of time in/out of PT and Sports Cener gets the job done! From my initial screening, to PT, to surgery, to recovery PT Sports Center was there every step of the way with a very well educated, professional staff that was always eager to keep me motivated to get back into the game. Following a knee surgery I thought I was not going to be able to enjoy the upcoming ski season, running, or winter golf...clearly not the case. I know when I get my other knee done that I will be working with Laurie and the team to get back into the game.
Thanks again to the team.
Pros: Motivated, Professional, Great Partner in the Process

Friendly environment and flexibility staff
by HeyitsJared
The Sportscenter staff always greeted me cheerfully by name and all the Physical Trainers were very encouraging. They track your progress quantitatively, so even when you think you are not improving you can go back and look at the numbers and see the improvement. This was a great motivation tool to continue therapy through the roughest times. The trainers provide you with all you need to know about how to take care of your injury outside the clinic for a speedy recovery. Also my insurance changed on me while I still needed therapy and Sportscenter was able to accommodate me and work out a personalized plan where I could still come in and continue getting better. It's a comfortable environment where you can get back to being healthy.
Pros: knowledgeable and supportive PTs

Sports Center and their therapists kept me motivated to work through a sports injury that had me out nearly a year. I continued to get stronger through their physical program but they also helped me stay focused on the progress I was making. The team is professional, well trained and they take their role very seriously.
The front office staff was great at working around my schedule; and insurance processing was seamless.
Although happy to be back running again, I miss seeing everyone at Sports Center on a weekly basis!
Pros: Excellent therapy programs, cohesive team, professional,

My injury was getting worse while I was seeing a good physical therapist! The day I started with the Sports Center, I began improving! They gave me clear expectations, a timeline, when I would see improvement, took measurements and supported me mentally and emotionally along the way! They know their stuff, and educated me along the way.
I am active again, and I owe it all to them!
Pros: they KNOW how to rehabilitate an injury!
Cons: But they don't have a center in Dripping Springs!

Feel like a new man!
by wrex
I have been in rehab for a total knee replacement for four months. The physical therapists have provided excellent evaluation of my individual needs and goals and designed exercises that have been a tremendous help. I met my goals ahead of time because the staff presents fresh, new movements and exercises that address particular muscles and tendons. Three times a week I look forward to going to therapy and it is always a little different.
The office staff are friendly and very helpful in meeting my schedule changes, and giving me a new T-shirt the one time I forgot mine.
Pros: Professional, knowledgable, and friendly staff
Cons: My insurance terminates soon.

need some interpersonal skills upgrades
by starbuck2222
Some of the staff here need to learn some real skills about letting the patient let them know what they need instead of always playing the expert. Patients know their own bodies and shouldn't be talked down to. Laurie in particular is bad about treating you like a child, using the chalkboard like a school marm, and patronizing you with questions about your own condition.
Pros: fancy gym, probably good knowledge
Cons: up down approach, not empowering

The Sports Center = Best in US
by kdkatzmd
Four words: A client for life.
Hands down the most knowledgeable and comprehensive group of phyiscal therapists I have ever encountered, even compared to some physicians (and I am one). There are several key reasons for this: 1) complete understanding of what the injury truly IS (e.g. tendinosis and NOT tendonitis) 2) developing an individualized plan to actually change and remodel your tissue to become bulletproof again and 3) a deep understanding of human nature and the expected ups and downs during this process and 4) highly intelligent therapists with an excellent sense of humor!
In sum, there is no reason to go anywhere else to get yourself back in the game. I know I won't.
Pros: everything
Cons: location---difficult for out of towners (but worth the trip)

Sooooo Informative!!!
by Carmajj
Okay so I'm a dancer (ballet, tap, jazz) and I suffered an ankle injury. It is really important to me that I be able to dance because I am on a competition team. When I went to Sports Center they were unlike other places where I've done PT before (and I've had my share of injuries.) First of all, the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. Everyone knew my name when I walked through the door and was interested in my progress. There was always upbeat music playing during my sessions... But the most important thing is that they create an individual plan for your treatment and even after you leave the center. My therapists not only worked with me but they taught me how my muscle groups worked. They explained about joints and ligaments as well as how their unloading technology helped me heal back up to maximum strength. By understanding how my ankle and leg works together I was able to really do what I needed to do to heal it. I feel confident that I can partially avoid future injuries based on this knowledge. But if I ever get another injury I'm going right back to Sports Center!!!
Pros: Great atmosphere, VERY informed staff, I can dance again!!!

Just an expensive personal trainer
by honey11
The staff is really nice and great especially the ladies up front. But it really doesn't matter how nice someone is, it's whether they know what they are doing. Also, they schedule so many clients at the same time that you get almost no personal attention. There was one exercise that I did for 3 weeks before someone noticed that I was doing it WRONG. 3 WEEKS. Not really my money's worth there. I will tell you 2 things I wish someone would have told me. Always get a 2nd opinion and go to a McKenzie certified physical therapist. I wish someone would have told me that before I spent over 400 dollars and a month and a half getting WORSE and in constant pain. In contrast, after my dr. kept urging me to go to another PT and after finding a McKenzie certified PT, he showed me in the consultation visit how to turn my pain off. He is teaching me to heal my back first, not strengthening my core muscles. Core muscles are important, don't get me wrong, but it's doing nothing for my back now but making it worse. I feel like I spent 400 dollars on a personal trainer not on someone that could help me heal my back. And that makes me a little angry. I could have gone to the gym and spent far less. I'm not totally healed yet after 2 sessions with the new guy, but at least my pain isn't getting worse and thank god it's not constant anymore. Whether you come here or not, if you have a serious injury, always always get a 2nd opinion. It doesn't hurt.
Pros: Nice staff, loved those front desk ladies
Cons: Don't know what they are doing when it comes to injuries

Want your life back after a serious injury?
by lazylia
Sports center totally saved my life! I tore my acl in 2006 and went to 4 therapists who made my knee worse. Needless to say I ended up having many set backs. Finally a friend kept pushing sports center on me. I figured..hell, nothing else is working so why not. That's when I met with Christine at sports center. She not only explained exactly what condition my knee was in but exactly how I got there, what I need to do now...and how long it will take for me to reach my goals. The best part was...she gave me hope and told me my goals were in deed possible. I wanted to dance, run, bike and play handball again! Other therapists and my doctor said it probably isn't realistic...but Christine begged to differ. After a year at sports center, not only did I reach my goals, I joined kick boxing after! It was great. Now I am apart of their Joint Gym program which allows me to work out, meet my current goals and maintain my knee! IT'S AWESOME!!! Sports center gave me my life back, it's a fun place to be and everyone makes you feel welcomed and on top of all that, not only did my therapist know my condition but all the therapists there knew me and my goals. They all dedicate their time to making sure they know all their clients and goals and keep EVERYONE motivated. Great atmosphere and also great friendly admins! IF you are looking for a place to get your life back after an injury, a place that will motivate you to meet your goals and work with you no matter what set backs you have, SPORTS CENTER is the place!!! There is no better feeling than hitting that GONG at graduation!
Pros: Friendly, Motivation, Meet your Goals, Great therapists, have your life back!

Great therapy ! Great knowledge ! Great exercises ! Some pain... but gain... considerable !
I had a bad fall off ladder one year ago, and injured 3 joints-- right hip, right ankle, and left knee. After knee surgery the outstanding PT therapists at Sports Center have been rehabbing my (very) poor three joints. Very complicated recovery due to both legs w/problems. I've been about 60 times since surgery. Future ankle surgery is required -- not looking forward to that.
Hip resolved 100%, and knee is much, much better. The managers: Ryan and Christine (no disrespect to my excellent doctors) are v professional, extremely knowledgeable, and have taught me a great deal about joints, health, supplements, exercises, muscles, and recovery. (Make them do the same for you !!) They keep very detailed records and measurements on you, and progress made, Have great educational handouts.
They are superb, and have such great therapists: Josh, Laurie, Deb, Megan... et al. And SC has a great support and front office staff.
I unequivocally recommend ! ... and they even let me draw Happy Faces and representative stick figures on my "Playbook", that details my therapy and progress. And when I don't progress, it has been ME ! They oughta to pay me for this recommendation ! But it is accurate.
But I really wish I didn't even have to know them (in a professionally way). Now I'm temporarily dependent on them. And they are like family.

Pros: Centrally located; great staff, professional, knowledgeable, lots equipment
Cons: Have candy snacks in lieu of healthy items !

Expert Advice
by Lee01
I went to Sports Center for a bad knee injury. I had never been to a physical therapist before so I didn't know what to expect, but I was a little skeptical. Now I am so impressed with the knowledge and skill of the PTs at Sports Center and the scientific approach they use to designing a program for each individual's injury. I've always gone to the gym and I thought I knew a lot about fitness training, but I would have gone about this all wrong without them. Not all physical therapy places are the same. Even if you have been someplace else and are still having problems, you should try Sports Center.

Thank you sportscenter!

Exceptional Physical Therapy at The Sports Center
by NickSpennato
The most important thing about physical therapy is the result. I couldn't be more pleased at how the Sports Center helped me to become well. Based on talking to other Sports Center clients, this seems to be the rule rather than the exception. So we've checked the "will they get me well" box. Now for the question, "how will they get me well?"
They will get you well with an exceptional staff. Exceptional means "very knowledgeable" in the field of physical therapy. Exceptional means interchageable. I received consistent advice no matter which physical therapist I worked with. Exceptional means treating you like family (and I mean that in a positive way :). I thoroughly enjoyed going to physical therapy because they made me feel special and on the road to progress each time I went. I wouldn't go anywhere else for physical therapy. They've spoiled me.

THE Best physical therapy
by deepsilver
Sports Center has been an excellent and comforting resource for me for a number of years. I first went years ago for treatment of bursitis and hip pain. At that time, their body-weight supported treadmill was an important part of the program that got me back to walking without pain. I have returned to Sports Center whenever an injury or joint problem occurred. Each time I was given a very thorough consultation and exploration of my problem, followed by a carefully prescribed therapy program. Though I have worked with different individual therapists at Sports Center over the years, each and every one has been unfailingly knowledgeable, experienced, kind, caring, and fun. I really felt that they knew me individually and tried hard to help me succeed. I even looked forward to going to my therapy appointments. The therapy was always beneficial, and I came away more knowledgeable about how to keep myself healthy and fit.
I would highly recommend Sports Center for anyone needing physical therapy. They're simply the best.
Pros: Knowledgeable, skilled, thorough, caring, personal. Convenient location, parking, hours. Pleasant surroundings with nice outdoor views of Shoal Creek.
Cons: Not a one.

Best Physical Therapy in town
by txkiwi
I've had shoulder pain for years and thought I might need surgery, but I went to Sports Center first and now don't have to face surgery. They were very professional and made the whole experience fun. They also coached me on what to do at home so I could keep strengthening my shoulder.
I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Keep Looking For A Sports Physical Therapist
by pizazzpizazz
I feel that the professionals at Sports Center have their priorities confused. Their promotional materials and sales pitch are impressive, their quality of service was not.
After my third visit, I was in much worse shape than when I started. I transferred to another sports physical therapist and began improving immediately.
I recommend further research for Sports Physical Therapy in the Austin area.
Pros: Nice office, generally someone in the office
Cons: Care seems to be shuffled to those with less experience - poor quality service

Innovative physical therapy based on sound principles.

After much urging from the rest of my family, I went to see a Doctor about this nagging pain in my back. The X-ray showed that there was no disc problem, and the Dr. sent me to Sports Center to see about further diagnosis and treatment. I received excellent treatment, and actually enjoyed seeing the staff on my semi-weekly visits. I gained strength and healing in the aching back. I also learned more about how to care for myself, and have personally benefited from this knowledge. I am continuing to use the principles learned from the excellent coaching received at Sports Center, and can exercise with more results, and confidence than I ever thought possible. It was a truly positive experience to be able to obtain a correct diagnosis, watch the progress through their careful and accurate measurements, and see the great results after the efforts given. Progress does not happen overnight, and one needs to stay with it, but I would say that it is and has been truly worth the time and effort. In the future, I would take any other joint problem that I might encounter to this physical therapy group.

Best Physical Therapy

Sports Center is simply the best when it comes to physical therapy. I had knee/cartilage problems and had bounced around from therapist to therapist without any improvement. The doctors wanted to operate again but I was recommended by one doctor to try Sports Center first. I am glad I did because their knowledge of how knees and cartilage work had me trying exercises I had not done before. Their knowledge and my dedication proved to be a successful combination and I avoided having another knee surgery. Since then I have gone to Sports Center whenever I have had other muscular or joint issues throughout the years and they have always come up with a solution that was right for me. I have worked with many of the staff and they have all been top notch. When it comes to physical therapy - they are simply the best!

The staff is knowledgable, attentive and caring. The facility is clean, tidy and spacious, with nice views to the outdoors (Shoal Creek area). Specialized equipment is available to rehab any type of sports injury.
