I recently combed the s. austin area for thrift shops...the best store and the one I had the best time @ was s.lamar Goodwill.The volunteers and most of the staff were fun and helpful.However there was a supervisor named Nicole who talked down to her staff and the volunteers very loudly and the energy in the thrift went from fun to drab and despairing in a matter of minutes.

As thrift stores go, I feel like Goodwill has become a bit overpriced. This location is no exception. However, the S Lamar store does seem to have a bit better merchandise than some others I've visited. For Halloween, though they stock a lot of costumes, you will not always find one that is unique. They often stock the same accessories and costumes that a lot of other shops do.
