Today was the first time I took my dog to go see Dr. Perky. I was very happy with the turnout. My dog happened to have a problem with his knees so the doctor needed to evaluate them before he gave me a number of options. Both the vet and tech praised his work of settling down and working with them. Dr. Perky and the tech also gave my dog one on one time as well to get to know him before working with him. He was showered with lots of love and treats to make him feel more at ease since he was a little anxious at first from previous experiences from other places he has been to. Dr. Perky explains things to you so you can have a better idea of what is going on with your pet. He seems like very caring and makes sure that you feel happy with the outcome. I would reccomend this vet to anyone.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring so well for my puppy, Frio. He's in your hands at the moment...but his care to this point has been remarkable. Again, thank you!

I started taking my beagle there almost 5 years ago. At first I liked this location. Starting about 2 years ago, I never saw the same person twice, the maintenance of the clinic went down, the doctors seemed like they were always in a rush and it smelled terribly, understood that a vet clinic usually has an odor, this was unbearable. I would not recommend this clinic. If you don't mind the drive, I have switched to Hanks Animal Hospital in Plano and they are outstanding.

Our family cat of 14 years was diagnosed with renal failure and we had to put him down. While the procedure was done in a sympathic manner. The after math has put our family in a world of hurt. I was told that I could pick up my cat's remains the following day after 10am. I called and he was not there, the next day the same, the next day the same-then i was told that the manager will call you back. Manager called me back to explain that we had paid for a community cremation and a private creamation would have cost $100 more, She went on to say that she could see what she could do but we would have to pay the difference. I was both shocked and upset that it all boiled down to a miscommuication between the doctor and receptionist and all they were concerned about was the freakin difference in the payment! We have 6 animals and we will not be going back there!

This vet clinic is outstanding!!! I have a mini daushaund who was nervous and a bit on the growling side, they took the time to to comfort and calm her. the vet made sure she was relaxed before she even began my pups exam. Thanks to them my pup is more relaxed each time she goes to the vet and no longer growls or attempts to nip at them. They are always polite and take their time with both the pet and the owner. I will never go another vet again.

You decide.

On Saturday Nov 7th I called to see about taking my dog in, as she was experiencing significant discomfort I assumed was a result of her arthritis.

She was x-rayed and the vet commented the swelling in her leg might be the result of being twisted. She said to take her home and keep her from putting a lot of strain on the leg. I did that but by Monday morning, she was experiencing more discomfort.Since Sachse Vet only accepts appointments, I took her to another vet who doesn't require appointments.

I summarized my visit to Sachse Vet and their take on her condition and x-rays. When I mentioned they depicted her x-ray as "fuzzy" , Dr. Pipes at Country Brook Animal Hospital expressed deep concern the "fuzzy" condition and swelling was the result of an infection or tumor.

He treated her for the infection. That led to a reduction in the swelling but he was concerned a tumor could be the cause of her condition.

Over this past week my dog had good and bad days and by Monday of this week was in great distress.

I called Sachse Vet and told them her condition and my wish that she be euthanized to avoid further distress. Their response was they only saw dogs by appointment and the soonest they could take care of her was today, Wednesday.

Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated to the point that @ 1:00 AM yesterday she began coughing up blood. I found the address for the Emergency Hospital and headed there with my dog, with the hope of having her euthanized.

To my horror, she started gagging. As I was petting her and trying to comfort her, she died from the blood flooding her lungs. Just before she died she turned and looked at me as if to ask for help.

Besides being unbelievably sad at her loss, I also have to deal with the fact I ultimately let her down and she suffered the most horrifying death I could ever imagine.

If Sachse Vet had taken 20 minutes to help her, she could have died in relative peace, if not comfort.

For their part, her appointment time is now available!

So, as a pet owner/care taker, you will have to determine whether or not Sachse Vet is for you.

They are not for me.

Very friendly & compassionate. Dr Hempel will talk with you about a problem you are having with your pet. They understand animals & are genuinely caring for your pet.

I know if a business has a bunch of good ratings a bad one may appear to be wrong. I assure this place is horrible for your pet. They said our dog and I quote "when this dog came in for boarding he was very worked up and nervous. Mary ann tried to bring him back and he became very vicous trying to bite everything and anything. he deficated and urnitated everywhere before we could get him back into the kennel. we tried to go slow and talk calm him down. unfortunately we were not able to board him safely."
This dog is nice/loving/ and friendly. I told my NEW vet about this, and our NEW boarder and they both thought it was very odd being my Dogs behavior/nature. I went into see the vet the first time, and they asked " Why are you here?" in unfriendly tone. If you care for your animal you'd be better off to go somewhere else.

I just wanted to Thank Dr. Pirkey for taking care of my dog this weekend. He went out of his way to make sure that the dogs paw was taken care of after she broke it. It was very late and he did not care what time of day as long as the dog was taken care of. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I concur with other comments about Dr. Pirkey's expertise, compassion and his staff. He gives his undivided attention to the patient and owner. We are involved in rescue so we have seen him for a number of routine and medical emergencies and the "bed-side manners" have never waivered.

Dr. Perky is the only vet I would recommend for my dog. She is an oversized boxer and does not like strangers, but he works with her and knows how to deal with her. He is very thorough and very good with all animals.

This vet is far for me to get to but well worth the time and the trip. Dr Perky is the Best. He is compassionate with people and animals of all kinds. His heart is truely in his work! He will take animals home with him if they need that EXTRA care and watchful eye. His staff is very knowlegable, helpful and compassionate as he is. We have had some VERY sick parvo stricken dogs in his hospital and he allowed us to visit as long and as often as we needed to. He cares as much about the animal owners as the animals themselves. He will make phone calls to the owners with updates on the progress of an animals condition as often as neccessary. The office is clean, well kept, intended for the care of all animals and a friendly compassionate staff.
