The office staff run this office extremely well and VERY efficiently. They have always been very pleasant, appointments are 95% on exact time, you're in and out without long waits and the doctors (and I've seen 3) have also been great. Staff and doctors are WAY ahead of all other offices of this type and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

The Dr's at Plano orthopedics are great. They each specialize in one area of orthopedics. Our Dr explained in a language we could understand with what had to be done and how long the procedure would take etc. They made sure that our son was comfortable for the duration that his ankle had to be in a cast. The nurses where also very friendly. My favorite experience of all was the short wait to see the Dr's.

I ruptured my bicep while in Denver which ended in a trip to the ER. I was discharged under the promise that I would fly back to Dallas the next morning to be seen by an orthopedic specialist. I was referred to Plano Orthopedics by my PCP, as I had been there a few years back with a back injury. When I called on Friday am to schedule an appointment I told the receptionist that I was in Denver headed to the airport and should touch down in Dallas at approximately 1:30pm. I was immediately asked "are you there on business", which I replied "yes". I was then put on hold and transferred to Monica in the Workman's Comp department. I quickly explained to Monica that I was in Denver on business but was injured while out with friends that I know in the area. I was quickly told that this was a Workmans Comp claim and needed to be called in before she can schedule me. I told her again that it was a personal injury (which the ER in Denver had no issue with) and I would be using my insurance. She said no and told me that I needed a claim number before I can schedule. I asked if they were denying me treatment, in which she replied "yes". I explained that I was a patient there before and that they have to treat me by law. She then argued that this was a new injury and I would be treated as a "new patient".
I am absolutely appalled at this clinics lack of patient concern, with seemingly more emphasis on insurance and WC billing. I've never heard of a scheduler taking it upon themselves to determine what type of injury I suffered - WC or personal. I ended up speaking with my benefits department who contacted our WC and determined that it was in fact a personal injury - NOT covered by WC. At the end of the day I did NOT end up getting an appointment here and was seen by a much more professional clinic in McKinney who scheduled my surgery for 3 days later due to concern of permanent nerve damage if left untreated.
Save yourself some time and move on to another group of surgeons, don't just take my word for it - read the other negative reviews regarding this clinic's unprofessional staff. I can verify that they are 100% accurate.

This place is run like a well-oiled machine. They run you in and out very fast. Last year Dr. Sutker worked on my nee a few times with no problems..This year my hip and groin area started hurting. First Dr Dauber thinks its a muscle pull so he sends me to physical theropy.I go a few times and do the home stretching to no avail. I go back and suggest to him maybe it's brusitis. He agrees and gives me a shot and asures I'll be pain=free in a few days. Well, a week or so goes by and I still go the pain in my hip. I call and leave a message for his nurse. I tell her I would like an mri cause maybe it's torn or something and I want to get this fixed and rid of the pain. Well she calls me back the next day and leaves a message on my phone telling me the doc wants me to go to theropy again cause I only went once before. So, I decide to see another Ortho doc. He gives me a shot as well. I go back in a week still with pain. We decide to do mri etc. Well, guess what folks??? I got CANCER. It's multiply tumors that is causing the pain !!!! If I would have stayed with this fool, I would be much more advanced than I am with the cancer. Thanks to my second doc, I am in treatment now. These guys need to listen to their patients a little more. He just wanted theropy for my cancer. Think twice before you see these fools. I will NEVER go back to that place!!!!!!

I was referred by my PCP, in 2007, to see Dr. Smith (a fellow Arkansan!) for a large ganglion cyst in my left wrist joint. Dr. S, a man of few words, evaluated my wrist & felt surgery was my best option. I felt confident w/ his assessment & plan.
As an experienced patient, having had 15 various surgeries, I'm VERY selective when choosing a surgeon. I felt that Dr. S fit my expectations. He was considerate of my wish to postpone an operation until the end of my school semester. He helped control my pain until I was able to move ahead w/ the surgery.
At my post-op visit, he personally removed my stitches & instructed me on how to care for the incision so the scar would be minimally visible. It worked!
Because of our past success, I'm seeing Dr. S again. This time for steroid injections to treat bilateral tendonitis. In mid-May, my PCP diagnosed the source of my bilateral hand pain & numbness as tendonitis. Oral anti-inflammatories didn't work, so she referred me to Village Physical Therapy for hand therapy. I've had many experiences w/ PT & this was by far the WORST ever. I went for 5 "therapy" visits & saw a different, clueless, therapy assistant at each visit. I believe they worsened my condition. They'd have me do an exercise, then realize they hadn't instructed me properly or that they'd had me do a wrong exercise for my condition (sometimes pushing me to finish when the pain actually increased significantly during the exercise). I asked for take-home printouts of my exercises on 3 occasions, but was always given a lame excuse (even by a licensed PT). Hmm...I think they wanted to prolong therapy & keep getting paid.
My PCP & I agreed, it was time to go see Dr. Smith!

When I first went to the clinic, for a joint fracture, Dr Smith wanted to rush me into surgery that afternoon, giving me little to no time to get comfortable with the idea. I hesitated, and chose to wait.

7 weeks later, I made an appointment with the Dr, which the office confirmed. They allowed me to come into the office and wait for over 40 minutes, while the doctor passed by outside, ignoring any attempt to make eye contact. At the end of that time, a woman entered the room, and said she was the office manager. Quite strongly scolding me, I was told that the Doctor had sent her to let me know he had decided to 'terminate' the doctor patient relationship with me, because I had not chosen to be rushed into surgery on the previous visit. He didn't even have the consideration to suggest an alternate treatment or doctor. He couldn't even spare the 2 minutes to tell me this himself. Rather, he allowed me to waste my time, sit there like a fool, and then had his OM deliver this message like a nun in a catholic school telling me I had failed math. My spouse had taken the morning off from work to accompany me, and was furious they had gone to the trouble to accept and confirm the appointment, only to bring us in, leave us hanging, then basically fire us as patients. Why did they accept the appointment to begin with? Isn't it possible this could have been handled in a more professional, let alone compassionate manner, as would befit a physician who went into medicine for the righ treasons? I have told friends of mine back in Connecticut and Manhattan about this incident, and they are flabbergasted. They have never heard of such unprofessional disrespectful, and discourteous behavior on the part of a medical professional. This is not a caring physician, and the staff reflects the same attitude. I think a previous poster was correct in that this is a surgery mill. If you don't wanted to be pushed into surgery with little chance to reflect, or information needed to feel comfortable with the idea, you are peevishly treated like a homeless person squatting in their office. I've met garbage men with better manners, courtesy and professionalism. Unconscionable!

I have been thoroughly impressed by this practice. My collar bone was broken on a Sunday and on Monday they were able to squeeze me in for an appointment on short notice. Even being a large practice, the doctor makes sure to take time and answer any questions or concerns I have and is realistic about what I need to do for it to heal. They are very efficient with getting me to a room, x-rays, and being seen- I enjoy not having to spend an entire day at the doctor's office and yet still feeling that I am cared for.

The doctor spent about 3 minutes with me. I had 4 different people come in throwing braces, exercises and prescriptions at me. I had to ask the same question 3 or 4 times to get it answered. They wanted to rush you out the door with out answering questions or really helping you. The door to the room was never closed. The doctor didn't even explain what was wrong, then just told me to come back in 3 weeks. The nurse told me that the doctor sees 70 patients a day. I would never go back!!

Best group of doctors I have ever been to!
Both my husband and I have been to this group and
both of use have had wonderful experiences!
Both knees (yes surgery was done)
and was well worth it!!
Once for my back and surgery was not recommended,
but great direction on how to improve my pain situation
was given without pain pills.
I would never have any orthopedic work done without the guidance of an MRI.
The support staff and customer service is also excellent!

One reviewer claims this place is a scam because after many doctors recommended surgery, POSMC also recommended surgery. Maybe she really needs surgery, if that many doctors recommended it. I, too suffered needlessly for years, avoiding the surgery many doctors recommended. I finally let these folks operate, and it was a great experience.

They are on the forefront of the newest treatments and technology. I've had a wonderful experience with them, and have recommended them to friends who echo that sentiment. I saw two different doctors--one for a rotator cuff problem, and one for a lingering neck problem that nobody in 10 years had been able to help with. The shoulder was treated with a steroid shot and PT--and they let me use a PT clinic close to my home, even though they were not familiar with the place. The neck guy--one in a long line of folks who have tried to help me over the years--recommended surgery only after exhausting other options. I had avoided surgery for years, but he was the fourth doc to recommend it, so I decided it was probably necessary. I was enrolled in a clinical trial, have the new technology inserted in my neck, was only a week in the brace, returned to work almost immediately and am absolutely pain free after a year. To know that these people are leaders in the field, participating in scientific studies, and working with medical schools, is what made me confident in them in the first place. I have never waited more than 5 minutes to see my doctor, once I check in. If I have any more bone or joint problems, they are my first choice.

If the reviewer who called this place a scam wants a magic bullet, no-surgery "miracle" cure, then she should look into "Spinal Decompression." Now that's a scam! And she should be prepared for doctors to order diagnostic tests, like MRIs. GOOD doctors don't just look at you and take your word for it that you have a problem. This reviewer's problem is that she either doesn't understand how diagnosis and treatment work, or she doesn't want to.

I went here after many years of neck pain, something I had avoided because I knew Dr.s want to do surgery always and I was not interested at all in that. So after much encouragement from my regular Dr. I went, only of course to be shuffled out of the Dr.s office within 5 mins b/c he said I HAD to have an MRI, Im 35 y/o so Im pretty experienced in knowing when someone doesnt want to give you the time of day, basically it was "you need an MRI, do that and come back" That office visit cost me $25.00 w/ my insurance. So I go have an MRI, another $2000.00, I come back after I have my films, the Dr. comes in and says can you come back tomorrow Im refering you to another Dr. in this office. This time he spent in the room w/ me 2-3 mins. at most, this cost me another $25.00. I come back the next day another $25.00 only to be told you need surgury and there is nothing else we can do for you, we wont even give you pain meds or anything. Now why would a person do all this running around, spending money making more bills when they cannot do anything. ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS SURGERY AND IF YOU DONT WANT THAT YOU WILL BE DISCARDED LIKE TRASH!!!!! THIS IS A SCAM!! So Im in the same boat as I was before I even went, why?????? I called back up there after the last visit b/c they wanted me to come back in 1 week, so I called they next day and they were totally unwilling to do anything. Im a single parent with a full time job, I cant just up and go have surgery be off work and unable to move for weeks. I have a bad disk and bone spurrs its terrible nerve and muscle pain. But they dont care no surgery, too bad for you!!!!!!

Unprofessional office staff - - they indicated the office is "a stressful office" and they are understaffed. "They have 300 new phone calls each Monday".
