Tarrant County Assessment Test

Tarrant County College started as a two year college and recently became a four year college. Their undergraduate core classes - English, history, basic math - are excellent, with involved teachers and smaller sizes than the 101 courses in larger schools. Their math classes and science classes, however, do not cover as much and are not as strong. For higher paying degrees - such as engineering and computer science - you cannot get many transferrable credits here, much less your degree. The small town atmosphere makes it a good "starter school"; take your core classes and humanities here, then transfer to a bigger school with stronger senior year classes to finish your degree. It is also cheaper, up to 50% less, per class.

The location of this area was in a residential neighborhood. The professors here are quite friendly for the most part. I took a few classes here personally to fill up some basics that I needed to transfer to UTA. Parking lot is plentiful, it isn't complicated like some of the other TCC campuses. The walk to the class isn't far, the classrooms are simple. When it gets dark at night, I would not advise walking to your car by yourself since its pretty pitch dark outside. The tuition here is very inexpensive. Taking a full load of classes is around 500-700 dollars depending upon what types of classes you are taking. Very inexpensive type college if you want to get a further education in life.

TCC SE is agood school for anyone in Grand Prairie-Arlington area looking to brush up on subjects ranging from core education (hard to beat being a FT student for a 1/3 of UTA's tuition) to even brushing up on general skills.
Note: a number of automotive or other trade skills are at the South campus. other trades/skills range on availability at each campus.
The southeast though had limits on dance classes offered ....

PROS: Local, good tuition rates, accessable teaching/tutoring
CONS: Available classes range per campus

This is a great place to get a cheap education. For 4 classes, I spent about $600 on tuition. At most other places, my books would cost more. The teachers are also pretty good for the most part. There are the occasional teachers that are only there for the money but most of them care about the students.

The staff at the South Campus is very friendly and helpful in setting up your courses for college. I am glad that I will be going there this fall. Especially since it is close to home.

I was expecting an entire different environment when i left high school. TCC was like a slow transition. They teach you to study, but at the same time, the environment is like high school. For the most part, teachers are involved and are willing to help any student. They are not like university professors who are just there to teach.

While the campus is a little overcrowded, and the parking isnt the best, I will say that in my every experience with this school that I attend, the teachers go the extra mile 100%! They go as far as to give you their home phone numbers and email addresses just in case you have any questions while you are doing the assignments! Since it is a community college, you will find very reasonably priced classes. I believe that one semester I spent about $600 on 4 books and 4 classes!
