Side Pocket

There still isn't a place that I really LOVE when I want to play pool. Every place has its usual drunks and smokers which really kills the atmosphere when I just want to play a game or two with my buddies. Side Pocket Billiards isn't as clean as you want them to be, but they have a fun touch screen game that I love (Word Dojo!) If you just want to play a game or two, this place satisfied me. But if you're hardcore, go buy yourself a table. Most likely you already have one if you're hardcore....

Look, by no means is this a world class pool hall. In fact, some individuals would say that it's "ghetto." But come on, it has cheap prices and is a fun place to shoot pool and drink beer with your friends. The crowd definately can be considered "diverse," meaning that there's an almost odd mix of young high school kids, younger college aged people, and older people of all backgrounds there at any given time--except for the stuck up folks. The tables themselves are nice, but check your cue before you start playing--some of them are pretty bad. They finally got a new juke box in there with some decent music, so that makes it even better. The place is pretty trashy--for example, the bathrooms are little more than functional. The neighborhood around it isn't really the greatest, so lock your car doors. But if you're just looking for a cheap, laid back place to hang out, this is a good choice.
