This is the best location for the widest offering of used books and various media such as video, dvd, and music. They also sell new books, calendars and other various gift items. It's a great place to get current magazines at half the cost. And best of all, when you're done with all that you've bought and you've cleaned out your kid's book shelves of everything they've outgrown, you can sell it back to them and buy more! Staff is knowledgeable. The variety is broad. Don't plan to just run in and out because you can spend lots of time here!

This location of Half Price books is the largest and has a huge selection of books, magazines, CDs and DVDs. This is a great place to find required books for school classes for less money. You don't get a lot of money if you sell items to them, though. If you like to buy books, you need to visit Half Price Books.

I could spend hours (and I have) finding great books at decent prices. At HPB it doesn't have to be such an investment. You can be a bit more spontaneous and spend less too! If you are looking for something in particular this may not be the place, but the browsing is great.

Half-Price is a great place to buy books, and one of my favorite stores to explore. The only problem is that you generally find about ten other books while you're looking for the one you went in to find! They also have music, movies and games.

In spite of the name, Half-Price also has new merchandise, as well, so if you don't like used, you can still shop there, it's just not half-price anymore!

They will also buy or trade for your old books, so every few years, I tend to take a box of stuff I'm never gotten around to reading over there and trade them in for different books I'm never going to get around to reading. As I recall, trading for used books is a better deal than selling for cash.

This is the flagship store, in its third location (at least) at this same intersection. For a while, they seemed to move buildings about once a year.

PROS: selection, pricing, out-of-print and hard to find stuff
CONS: some books are gently used, some aren't

This is the greatest store for a teacher. I can collect books for my classroom, get books for my profession, and also for gifts at a low low price. They have a great selection, I always find what I am looking for. The salespeople are always helpful.

Half Price Books has become an institution, and this store (which I still think of as 'the new store', after spending so many years browsing their old location) is the largest of them all. Unlike the old location, this store is spacious and well-lit, although the light fixtures tend to buzz annoyingly. They sell everything used book under the sun, and also sell remainders/new books at used prices. Very large music collection as well, particularly interesting stuff in the LP section. There's also a colorful and entertaining children's section, which hosts book readings, and a small cafe, for when you absolutely must have coffee and books. Also note their sales--post-Christmas 20% off, and the calendar which you get with a certain amount of purchase also has coupons to save with.

Boasting over 1 million books in stock -
If you can't find atleast one book you want here... there is something wrong!
Books are regularly 1/2 of cover price or less . They have clearance racks and often have sales 20% off or even 1/2off 1/2
who could ask for more!

This is my family's favorite Half Price Books location. We were fans when they were in the small bldg. across the street, but when they moved there is so much space now that we spend hours there.

You can have coffee/tea in the cafe, get a chair massage and a new/used book for under $20.

PROS: Huge location!
CONS: Too far away from Lewisville.

IF you want to buy anything for a good deal then this is the place to go. You can even find used text books for your classes. You can even go back and sell your books and get money for it.

The best bookstore in Dallas. This store is HUGE and they have a little bit of everything. It's fun to browse, but there is a good chance they'll have what you're looking for if you need a specific title. GREAT prices. Helpful employees.

This is where Half Price Books employees go to shop - it's the largest of their stores in the Dallas, and I believe in the country. Their selection is immense, it will take you all day to browse through all the shelves. Things are constantly coming in, so you can't go to this store just once. Same low price books, just more of them!

So much selection. Its like going to an ecclectic library where everything is actually affordable. I always find the best obscure books and gorgeous artsy notecards here!

Half Price Books is a chain of bookstores featuring used books and some new (usually publishing surplus).

This particular store is the flagship store for the chain. While the inventory at any individual store may vary, this store has a remarkable selection of used books in virtually any category. And it doesn't stop at books. They have an immense selection of used vinyl records.

And their prices are unbeatable. Any bibliophile could easily spend a day or two browsing in this store.

PROS: Huge selection. Fantastic prices.
CONS: none.

If you even remotely like books, magazines or music, you must shop here!! I used to live across the street and I'd go for hours until they closed (at 11). There is a cafe/coffee shop inside, you can get mini-massages, there's a large kids area with a little playhouse. Large selection of old records, very discounted music CDs, DVDs, old magazines. They even have rare and valuable books on display. You can always find a gift for someone here - not everything is used. They have a large gift section in the front with calendars, datebooks, recipe books, fridge magnets, stationary, etc. This is a very cool place to stay and hang out (read) for quite a while.

Pros: huge selection, cheap, sell your old books

Cons: not fancy, "warehouse" feel, missing popular books

As far as selection, atmosphere, variety of products and PRICE - there is no better place to shop for books, magazines, movies, music, old LP's, gifts and the coffee shop - wonderful!
