A message from Anderson Dental Group

We accept most dental insurance, PPOs, and DMOs. We have a multi specialty doctor staff, with general dentists, oral surgeons, periodontists, orthodontists, and general dentists who limit their practice to seeing children. Most specialty dental care can be provided at our office or at our new state of the art new specialty practice directly across the street (Lake Point Dental and Specialty), with limited need for outside referrals. We are also the dental office to visit if your company dental plan changes routinely.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

The techs and dentist at this location do an ok job. The office staff is totally incompetent. My daughter required a cleaning. I was told that the insurance would not cover the cost and that I would have to pay. Which I did. A week later I received a notice from my insurance company that they had paid the claim submitted by Anderson dental. When I called the insurance company to check on the claim, I was told that they had no problem paying since my daughter is allowed 2 cleanings a year and that I should request a refund from Anderson. When I called Anderson and spoke with thier offfice manager, I was told that I would have to wait until the payment from the insurance company was received, but that they would credit my flex account once payment was received. After 4 WEEKS my account was still not credited. I again called Anderson dental, this time I was told that I would have to come to the office and sign a refund request and that they would take 4 to 6 WEEKS to credit my account. I then called thier coporate office and spoke with the billing department. They said that they would fax me the form and get manager approval to process the payment. They NEVER faxed it or called back. These people will lie to you and take your money in a heart beat; but when they get caught, they will do everything they can to keep money that does not belong to them. If it was not for the fact that my daughters ortho is already paid for with these people we would have left this dental group a long time ago.

NEVER AGAIN!  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Only because it was an emergency did we use this group. The open concept and the noise was horrible! Several times during my daughters procedure the doctor was interupted by people coming in to "borrow" a piece of equipment. I never saw it wiped down or clean once it was returned and then "borrowed" again. The doctor got up several times to go attend to another patient that was on the other side of the building. Come to think about it, I'm not sure he changed his gloves when he returned back to my daughter. He was very curt and rude to his assistant , and she was the one that was giving the most encouragment and support to my daughter the whole time. The assitant was the one who ended up fitting my daughters crown and attaching it. She was also the one who did all of the x-rays. We were told that he would leave a prescription for my daughter at the front desk, when we left that evening we realized that we had not received it. We called the office, and were told that we would have to make another appointment or be seen by the doctor in order to get her pain medicine! After 2 days of phone tag, we FINALLY received a prescription for her.

Bad crowns  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

My wife and I went to Anderson to have crowns put in, all (1 for me and 2 for my wife) have been problematic--the fitting is poor in all cases. Given it was my first crown, I didn't realize how poor it was immediately after the procedure. Oddly, they asked me to sign a form which stipulated that I accept the procedure as successful. I thought this was standard practice, however, I later asked my wife if she had to sign the same form and she said that she was not asked to sign any "waiver." No further comment on that...

We will be going to another Sugar Land dentist in the future.

By the way, I am NOT an ex-employee of Anderson.

Excellent Problem Resolution  4 Star Rating - Very good

Although we had a negative experience (long wait time), the management staff and owner were wonderful at acknowledging the issue.

On a positive note, this practice does in fact take nearly all insurance and the treatment counselors are very knowledgeable at cutting through the insurance bureaucracy.

Warm Environment to be in...  5 Star Rating - World class

I went here today and felt very comfortable being at the this Dentistry. My dentist, Dr. Brown, was very helpful in making sure that I felt calm during her examination of my teeth. It had been a while since I had been to the dentist and Dr. Brown made my apprehension level move down due to her hospitality. The financial planning of how to correct my teeth was a rather tedious experience where Patricia, who had our best interests at heart, took care of making sure we could afford this even though we are slated to close on a house at the end of next month.

Thank you Anderson Dental Group for a great experience!

Make sure the information on your chart is correct!!!  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I took my daughter in to have a filling, which they put in replaced. Of course, I was expected to pay before I was serviced. I was charged what I thought was way too much for simply replacing a filling. When I inquired about the high fee, the staff member was very nonchalant and just said that's what it cost. Good thing I went into the cubicle with my daughter, because they were going to treat her for the same thing she had been treated for on her previous visit. I questioned the dentist about what she was doing, because she was giving my daughter what I thought were a whole lot of shots for just replacing a filling. The dentist looked at the chart again and then started asking me who the dentist was last time. What difference did it make? Anyway they have so many dentists in and out of there that it is hard to keep track of them. Before I left, I stopped back by the payment desk and explained the situation to them. I had to talk to several people, before it was agreed they overcharged me. I got my original check back and wrote another one for the lesser amount. Of course the ordeal did not stop there. Three days later I got a demand for payment invoice in the mail. Now to their credit, when I explained the situation over the phone the gentlemen that process payments said he understood and canceled the invoice.
Also to be fair, the pediatric dentist there seems to be really good. She saw my son, who is normally terrified of dentist, without incident. She successfully treated him for a condition that another dentist refused to treat.
My overall opinion of this dentist is it is more of a business than a healthcare facility. I feel like they are trying to cram as many patients into a day as possible and make as much money as they can. It is not that place to go, if you want that personal touch.

A great place for dental work  4 Star Rating - Very good

i have read a lot of reviews regarding Anderson Dental and must say I disagree with several. I have been a patient there for many years. Although the wait time can be long sometimes-as is the case with most doctors-I have always been treated very well by the doctors and financial team. I would and have recommended Anderson Dental without reservation

It is nice to hear some positive comments every so often. It is too bad that websites like these are used by many former employees and by the competition to make us look bad in the public eye. We try very hard to provide the best care possible and our patients are very dear to all of us. What is never mentioned is that our facility is the only one of its kind in Sugar Land that accepts nearly all insurance plans, PPOs, and DMOs. This means patients don't have to go around searching for a new dentist every time their employer elects to switch plans. We are also the only facility in Sugar Land that has specialty care (oral surgeons, periodontists, orthodontists) on staff. This makes it a very convenient "one stop shop". Thank you for taking the time to compliment us.

An Unhappy Patient  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

I usually don't take to write reviews, but after my visit to Anderson Dental, I felt this warranted a letter.

When I entered the office, I was not greeted by anyone and stood at the counter for about five minutes while the front office staff was discussing what they were going to do over the weekend. I finally got the attention of the older women and disturbed her by asking if I needed to fill out paperwork. I was handed a clipboard and was asked for my insurance card and ID. I have experience in the dental field and know that the front office staff can make or break a practice. They are the first impression when entering an office. With the cold reception I received, I was not looking forward to having my visit with the doctor.

To my pleasant surprise, the doctor and his assistant were both very friendly and made me feel quite comfortable. The doctor performed the exam and explained what needed to be done. He said I would need to speak to a treatment coordinator in the front office. I was not to happy about having to deal with the front office staff again. I was introduced to the male treatment coordinator who was also quite friendly and knowledgeable. He helped me extensively with a range of financial options to meet my needs. I mentioned to him about my experience with the front office staff and he was kind enough to apologize and said my contact with them would be minimal from this point on. I made an appointment to have the work I needed started.

As I am sure you realize, there are several dentists in the Sugar Land area to choose from. Since the front staff basically gives the first impression of the office, I have always felt it was very important that they treat all patients in a respectful manner. I am sorry to say that this wasn't my experience. Because of your doctors and the rest of the staff in the back, I will go forward with my treatment. If I had to refer friends and family to your office, it would not be on the merit of the front desk staff.

Good choice  4 Star Rating - Very good

As an adult getting braces, I was unsure about getting braces and Anderson Dental put my hestiation to rest. I was able to make appointments that fit my schedule and the orthodontist was great!
I recommend this facility highly.

COMPLETELY HAPPY PATIENTS  5 Star Rating - World class

I want to acknowledge how happy I have been with Anderson Dental Group in Sugar Land for the past four years. The dentist who owns this practice agreed to treat both of my sons who suffer from epilepsy when no other dentist in the area would. All the other dentists would clean their teeth only - but if there was an issue needing to be fixed, they would take my co-pay then say sorry - we can't help your kids because they are a liability risk due to their seizures. Anderson Dental has gone ABOVE and BEYOND for my family and I routinely highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. I know of several friends and coworkers who have gone after my referral and have also been very very happy with their service and treatment. I would recommend this dentist office to everyone!

Honest People  4 Star Rating - Very good

Before i went here, i was told by most of my doctors before that my teeth were perfectly fine. However, when i went here they told me the truth that i needed braces and so i had braces for a couple of months. Now my teeth are better than ever and i hate all those people that lied to me.

Almost a Pleasure to go to the Dentist!  4 Star Rating - Very good

Anderson Dental is great with kids. My son was a little wary of going for his first dental visit, but the staff quickly put my son (and me) at ease. The dental assistant described to my son everything they were going to do, so he wouldn't be surprised and they were very gentle. The pediatric dentist on staff was great and also was gentle. The administrative staff was efficient and knew their way around insurance bureacracy. If you have to have extensive dental work done, they will sit down with you and outline what insurance will pay and what out of pocket costs would be. They are very upfront.
