A year ago, Fuddruckers was definitely a great burger joint. Their onion rings and fries were great, the beef juicy and the buns fresh. Now they've lost a lot of their former glory. The buns now taste very stale, and I am guessing they don't make it themselves anymore.
Furthermore, a big gripe is that you can ONLY have your burger cooked Medium or Well Done. This makes the burgers far less juicy and just not as good. The meat does taste a bit off now, so my conspiracy theory is that they're using worse quality of meat, and thus have to cook it longer to avoid any possible health effects.
Their salad bar and fries are still superb and the atmosphere is good, but with their main attraction - the burgers - falling to beyond sub-par levels, it's definitely not worth the high price.
I love Fuddruckers, I think they are one of the best burger places in Houston..outside of Beck's Prime. The toppings at this location are always fresh and well stocked...this is the most exciting part. The fries are great too. Be sure to visit the Fuddruckers website and sign up for their specials, this will allow you to catch a deal here and there since their meals are a little on the pricey side. The only thing really bad about this location is the management in my opinion, not friendly or fair. If you have a problem, forget it, you will have better luck working out your issues with the staff than the management. If you go to the staff and they have to clear something by the manager, consider yourself doomed. It's rare I have ever needed the manager, I normally have a problem free dining experience; however, the manager at this location can sure ruin a good meal. Other than that, everything is great.
Pros: Burgers have flavor, Unlimited toppings, Clean Restaurant
Cons: Management, Prices
You know the drill by now. You go to the counter and order your burger. They let you know when it's done and you pick it up. Then you hit the condiments and add what you like. For this you pay 3x McDonalds or Burger King? There are only so many ways to make a burger. If I'm essentially in a self service situation I really don't think it's compelling that I can add all the pickles I want.
Pros: fresh meat, can add your own toppings
Cons: not a good value
I Have Been Going To This Place For The Last 8 Yrs.
And I Do't Think I'm No Ways Tired Of It ! Go By And Tell Them That KattMan Sent You.
Pros: Great Place For Famliy!
Cons: YoursMidsection Is Going To Hurt
I've eaten at Fuddruckers in various locations roughly 15 times. The restaurants are always meticulously clean. The ordering approach is quick and the Burger fixings are above average. You essentially dress your own burger after it is cooked. Those are the good points. On the negative side we have the following:
1. You can't order a rare burger. Medium is the limit.
2. The meat is average, although the portions are large.
3. The exotic burgers including Buffalo and Ostrich are poor. Multiple times the meat has had a tainted taste.
So for a burger - Fuddruckers is way overrated. It is at best upscale average.
Fuddrucker's use to make their own buns, but no longer! The worst part is that the restrooms are not clean and the doors do not lock! I have reported this several times but nothing is done about it. Guess the City of Houston needs to hear about the conditions of the rest rooms. The prices are out of sight. Sometimes they give you a senior discount and sometimes they don't.
Pros: Parking fine
Cons: Rest rooms do not have locks on doors.
If I am going to fix my own burger then I get the credit for a good burger. however the meat is not consistently good; sometimes it's well seasoned, and other times it lacks taste. I guess it depends on the cook of the day. I prefer Prince's burgers or even the burgers at Harlow's. Sorry Fuddrucker's you're not all that anymore.
Pros: not sure
Cons: hummm
My order came out wrong minus onion and mushrooms which is what I requested. When I asked them to correct my order, they did grudgingly and the cook carelessly slapped the hamburger onto the grill, added onions and mushrooms, and put the order back in the box. The presentation was sloppy, the hamburger was not tasty, and the fries were at best mediocr and were left in the tray. My wife took one bite and left the rest of the her hamburger. I ate part of mine and also left it. When I later wrote Fuddruckers an email to complain, their response was to come back for a free hamburger. No thanks.
fuddruckers has the juiciest burgers ever you always get it cooked just the way you like it and half of a 1/4 lb. burger and fries fills me up plus i love how the bread is homemade there and they have great deserts too!
I just have never gotten Fuddruckers! The hamburgers always taste funny to me--like they are freezer burned. I like the ability to make your own burger, but that aspect won't bring me into a Fuddruckers. Will never go back!
Cons: BAD tasting burgers, BAD tasting burgers, BAD tasting burgers
Fuddruckers is an interesting place to go every now now and then, but how it ranks as the best in Houston is beyond me...the burgers are a little on the dry side, and I think it's a bit pricey all things considered...
I don't know where they get their beef, but it is the the most awesome hamburger anywhere in Houston.
Pros: Clean, Fun, Inexpensive
Dusrucker's sucks. I can'y believe that they are able to pass off those pre-fab patties as hamburgers. Pappa's is much better. Heck, go up the street to a Whataburger. Even that's better.
Pros: self-serve condiments, big burgers
Cons: taste horrible, meat blows, bun blows
The Citysearch polls say it all, this place truly serves the best burgers in town, and the best burgers you'll ever eat. I don't care if you say your lame mom and pop's place is better, I have yet to taste a burger that even compares to this place.
Pros: Huge, Great Value
This is the most over rated place. It was full of kids running rampant and out of control!!! The buns almost choked me...too big and too dry....better burger at Whataburger than this place!!!
Let's see...Fudrucker's is that type of restaurant with no heart. I don't know if many fudrucker's fans know this, but a couple of years ago they changed their entire look to match that of their customers. I walked into Fudruckers and thought i was in Prince's. haha they only wish!!!!!
Pros: Make your own burger
Cons: Not Prince's, Not the best, Too expensive
Their fries are far better than any others in this town.
For the price, food not that great. Can get a better hamburger elsewhere and have someone wait on us and not have to stand in line!
Pros: Good hot fudge ice cr
Cons: Crowded
great food but occasional lousy service. this is mainly unbelievably long lines.
Pros: food
Cons: waiting line, waiting for food
Tried Katy Mills location twice and never again. More so than anything else, the stale buns ruined the entire experience.
Cons: poor value
The badness starts when you get to stand in line for 15 minutes for the privilege of ordering your food (although why there are so many people in line escapes me, given the poor experience I had there). Let me sit down and bring someone to my table. That's what I'm paying you for!
Speaking of paying, the food is way overpriced for a burger place. They call your name over a tinny speaker, you have to get up and go back to where you ordered to pick up your food. Then you have to put the darned thing together yourself. And, like I said, you're paying extra for this privilege!
Our running joke around work is that if you pay extra, maybe they'll even let you sweep the floor.
Steer way clear of this clunker.
Cons: stand in line to orde, fix food yourself, noisy, bad atmosphere
I enjoy eating at Fuddruckers, they have the best buns. Hamburgers are one of the best, you get to all the fixings on the Burger yourself and it all fresh.
Pros: Fresh fixings, Toasted buns
Cons: Expensive
I live in The Woodlands & used to love Fuddruckers. However for the past 1-2 years the restaraunt has changed dramatically. The people at the registers have difficulty taking orders. The order is always missing something and the food is usually very cold. They make numerous mistakes & I observe other customers that become just as frustrated as me. I don't know if they changed owner, management or what but it has gone downhill. I miss the old Fuddruckers we were used to years ago. (We have lived here since 1989)
Pros: decor, gameroom
Cons: slow, cold food, mistakes
I went to Fudrucker for the first time last week. The service was fast and the burgers were HUGE. They have alot of condiments and I loved the melted cheese for my french fries. I definately recommend Fudruckers.
Pros: atmosphere, Inexpensive, great location
Mass produced just short of Micky D's. Over priced and usually dried out. But let's not talk about the fries. Try Becks or one of the others listed further down.
I love fuddruckers fries. They have just the right amount of seasoning and they are an original shape. :)
I love Fuddruckers. They have a fun atmosphere and really good food too.
Pros: make it yourself
Cons: crowds
Their fries are always hot and always fresh. Dip them in the cheese sauce and they are perfect.
Pros: good selection, cook when you order, add your own toppings
Cons: ambience sucks
The fries at Fuddruckers are terrible. Usually soaked in grease, to fat and mushy!!
Cons: Noisy, crowded, dirty restrooms
I love their fries. The seasoning is great. I love being able to dip my fries in the free jalapeno cheese sauce.
delicious hamburgers overall a very good meal. Noisy family like environment
I love Fuddruckers because of the many
options - lettuce, tomatoes, several cheeses,
jalapenos, mustards - etc.
The atmosphere is also excellent.
Fuddruckers is a very friendly atmosphere. I love how you can make your own burger, and you can have anything you wish. They are always changing there menu. So if you don't want a hamburger you can have a salad, a steak, or chicken. It is great for kids too. I would recommend Fuddruckers to all of my friends and family.
Pros: can make own burger, Inexpensive, lots of choices
This is the best burger no doubt. If it isn't good, it's because you built it wrong. The liquid cheese is delicious. And so are the cookies.
Pros: Fast, Delicious
Cons: often crowded, Lots of kids there
I love their fries! The best way to eat them is w/their cheese covering them. Half cheddar and half jalapeno is the perfect portion.
Pros: delicious food, great atmosphere, large portions
Cons: no smoking allowed, crowded
Their hamburgers are very overpriced and marginal. Mine was greasy and not the greatest quality of meat. The fries would have been better buying a bag at the grocery and baking them in the oven. Almost cost $20.00 or two burgers, fries and drinks.
The burgers are lean and I love that I can put my fixings on the way that I like it
What is with all the garage sale items cluttering up the walls? And this place was way too noisy. The food is good but I wish I were blind and deaf everytime I go there.
In a word - bland. Maybe it's the novelty of putting together your own burger that makes this joint a fave. I don't like it.
I have to say that Fuddruckers has pretty good food but to give it 10's is just ridiculous. The value is not that great. When I have to pay over 10 bucks to get a burger fries and a drink its not worth a perfect 10 or close. The service is average at best since you serve yourself usually. The plus side to having to spend so much money is you can build it the way you want it. However in my opinion thats the only thing that makes it bearable. Also Fast-food like is questionable from the title description. Folks this isn't a McDonalds or Wendys. Getting your food can be a slow process especially if they are busy. If you dont mind being overcharged go for good flavor and ability to add your own toppings...nothing else stands out here.
Pros: Good taste, build own toppings
Cons: Expensive!, serve yourself
The best buns, the juiciest meat, the freshest condiments, the cleanest restaurants all at a fair price. what else do you need?
I live near Beaumont, Texas and absolutely love Fuddrucker's. They have the best burgers in the world.
Fuddruckers is an overpriced hamburger cafeteria. The lines are frequently long where you order. You do get a pretty darn good burger when you finally do though. You can get equally good food without much of the hassle in plenty of other places. I'd suggest one of those instead.
Pros: Tasty
Cons: Expensive, Crowded, Unhealthy
It's ok, but far from the best. It's almost like a big Burger King but you pay more and have to make your own.
I have never had a fresher tasting burger. The condiment bar has more FRESH veggies than a lot of salad bars I've been to. This is hands down the best burger for the money. Red, not pink tomatoes, make a fantastic hamburger. Maybe someday the other burger joints will get a clue. Restaurant has a bit of clutter, and is very noisy at times, but, if you're there for food and not atmosphere, you will be in for a treat!!!
Pros: received as ordered, fresh food, period!!, friendly staff
Cons: noisy, cluttered
Fuddruckers has the best fries I have ever eaten. They are tasty and seasoned, but not overly seasoned. They taste really great with the cheese sauce they provide with at the condiments table. They have really good food for the price and the atmosphere is really laid back and relaxing.
I have never considered Fuddruckers to have good burgers, and also there are so many better places to grab a burger from than a chain like this.
Cons: Food Quality
I waited 6 months to come back. I should have waited longer (like never). This place is in too much rush to get you the food (but it still takes a long time). I ordered medium and got rare. My partner ordered medium well, and got barely medium rare. They just are in such a hurry to get the food out the quality has suffered. But it's great for kids. As long as you don't have to eat here, its a great place to come.
Pros: neat memorabilia
Cons: food, service, attitude
There are so many other places in Houston to eat that have MUCH BETTER burgers! The local restaurants that work to hard to provide good good deserve so much more recognition than a mere chain restaurant! Come on Houston! I have never had a great burger at Fudruckers, maybe a good good, but nothing more!
over priced burger and drinks for a hamburger joint nevr going back
