I love coming here. You never know what you will find. Neat folksy offerings, esp Mexican. Great place for gifts or just neat trinkets
I always make a point to visit in Tesoros while in Austin. You just never know when you might need a beaded curtain with Frida Kahlo's portrait, a recycled soda can briefcase, or some lucha libre figurines. (Not to mention the beautiful jewelery and great tshirts!) I can't think of a better place to blow my whole paycheck buying sometimes-kitchy, sometimes really beautiful handmade folk art pieces from around the world.
A truly unique store in Austin, at Tesoros you can find colorful and fun items from Mexico, Asia and South America. From Loteria mirrors to chinese good luck statues, anyone with a taste for the exotic will find something here. There also a bookstore in the rear with a selection of art, culture and childrens books.
PROS: Great collection of interesting and exotic items, clothes and decorations
CONS: You can leave without buying something
