I love this place!!! I take my granddaughter here, and pick our own strawberries, right from the field! I also like the variety of fresh fruits and vegetables and the prices are good.

Frobergs is ok but Caninos Produce on Airline right inside the loop is more convenient and much better prices. Lots to choose from and feels more like an urban market. Been there for years and you can't beat the quality. I found produce from Frobergs must not be inspected and rotated very often.

We went to Froberg's for the first time today. I was really impressed with the selection and variety of produce. The prices WERE cheaper than even HEB (I noticed that some people had complained in their review that the prices were high). The produce was beautiful. Right now I have fresh green beans going in the slow cooker and FRESH pinto beans going on the stove. We'll be having fresh cherry tarts for breakfast tomorrow. It's easy to get excited about eating good healthy food when you have a place like this to get your food!
And, the fried pies are NOT TO BE MISSED. They are absolutely delicious!

We've been shopping at Froberg's for for nearly 30 years, and have never been disappointed! Their fresh produce lasts so much longer than what's at the grocery store. Ever buy lettuce from the grocer and find it spoiled within 3 days? That's never happened to my Froberg lettuce! Give them a try, you will be so happy you did!

This is a great place if you want to sent your kids for strawberries picking (small & expensive) or outside activity. Fruits and vegetable is not fresh, especially their Okra. I realized there prices is higher compare to other supermarket. Please beware of BBQ smoke shop next door! This place is very expensive, 1/2 a rack of rib easily cost $20, sausage on the stick $9 bucks. There is no pricing showing anywhere in this store, ASK FOR PRICE BEFORE YOU BUY.

Their deer sausage was the best I have ever eaten. I gave some to my brother who use to go deer hunting but still enjoys deer sausage and he said it was some of the best he has ever eaten.

I recently moved to Manvel, just up the road and have been visiting Froberg's religiously since I was first introduced. I can get nearly all my fruit and vegetables there on a weekly basis and they are always fresh and delicious. Eating a lot healthier now! Just purchased freshly shelled purple hull peas and freshly picked okra! My family loves everything we get there; my kids love to get the little bags of candy or fresh fruit they have as well which is a treat they receive after doing their chores.... "can we go to Frobergs?" ... teaching them how to weight their veggies and fruit as well. Just a really cool place. They also have delicious meats in their meat market located in the building adjacent to the grocery.

I went by today with my 8 year old. They have fresh strawberries, tomatoes, cherries, broccoli, cabbage, cucumbers, dried beans, all types of peppers, bananas, etc. We purchased lots of food. On the way home, my 8 year old got into the food and decided that it was the best ever, so I had to have some. Delicious. The strawberries were so sweet, the cherries so smooth, the tomatoes taste like I remember when I was a kid. Had I not stopped us, the strawberries and the tomatoes would not have even made it home.

I highly recommend checking this place out. It's the middle of July and their selection is fabulous. My GPS recognizes "County Road 190" as "Alvin-Manvel Road" should you have any problems.

I have only been to Froberg's twice but, I was amazed at the delicious local grown vegetables. I grew up on a farm and often wished I could find a good local home grown vegetable market. My wish came true. I purchased fresh shelled purple hull peas and shelled creme peas that were so plump and fresh it made my mouth water. The fresh home grown tomatoes, squash, bell peppers, okra and sweet, sweet corn were so delicious. The prices were great! I would recommend Frobergs if you want fresh vegetables with friendly and helpful employees. Saturdays are very busy but, you will find what you are looking for.

We go at least once a month year round. The produce is year round fresh. My favorite part is the FRIED PIE experience. I eat at least two on the way home. Delicious. My grandchildren love to pick the strawberries so we go at least twice during strawberry season to get that experience. Everyone needs to brave the heat and go strawberry picking at least once in their lifetime.

The Froberg family work from sun up till sundown sometimes even after dark to give the public the highest quality produce and Mrs.Froberg uses her very own recipes for the pies that are also sold to the lucky people who come to visit thier humble farm. They are the hardest working people I've ever met in my life, they don't cut corners and nothing is over priced you can bet they beat any grocery store price and the vegetables are 100 percent fresher, and better tasting. Their strawberries are the BEST I've ever tasted and their grown right there on the farm. So I would personally recommend this farm to everyone, and believe me you won't regret making the trip. I've not worked there in over 7 years and now live in Missouri but my Paw paw visits the farm regularly and ships me anything I ask for. Go out and see for yourselves, you will not regret it.

Not only are there great fruits & vegetables, but you can get the most "Uniques Gifts" for the person that has everything. They have the most amazing vegetable basket for only $20. It is a huge basket and you know it is something that everyone in the family can enjoy. They are nicely decorated with cellophane paper & decorate holiday pick. So think outside the box and give the most unique gift ever to the person that already has it all!!

A friend of mine told me about this place a year and a half ago, and I am so thankful. They have a great selection of produce, a large amount of which is Froberg's homegrown. Their prices are consistently lower than the grocery stores, unless you catch a really good sale, and the produce is consistently fresher. They have the best strawberries around when they are in season. The only downfalls are the heat, the buidling is open and fan cooled, no air conditioning, and that if you go at the wrong time (ie late Saturday afternoon) you may find their stoack pretty well picked over.

They also have a little sausage shop on the premises, very good sausages. Their samples are my son's favorite part of a trip to Froberg Farms.

Love going here to find fresh fruit and vegatables. You can also find home made preserves, pies, etc. It is great food for a great price. Also in a beautiful locationl. Very large facility with some of the friendliest down home people you will ever meet. Plenty of parking available.

This is a great place to buy your fruits and veggies. The facilities have been updated, so now you can actually shop in a store rather than a tent. They have a great selection and the prices are good. It is a fun way to buy your fresh produce. If you have kids, they will love getting to pick it themselves. They also have fresh pinto beans (delicious) and other items made on site. Perfect for an afternoon outing, and healthy too!

Froberg's is a wonderful alternative to the produce section of a typical sypermarket. Many of the fruits and vegetables they sell are grown right on their property, as you will see when you visit. All of their fruits and vegetables are of high quality, and the prices are generally very competitive with grocery store pricing. Naturally, prices and availability are best during the "season" for what you are buying. We bought delicious homegrown tomatoes earlier this summer for under $1 per pound. These were so superior to what you can buy in a retail store that there is just no comparison. Another good value during the summer was their bell peppers -- all colors. I once got 5 red bell peppers for $1! They are usually at least that much for each pepper in the store. They sell many other food products as well, so it's fun just to browse and see all that they do have available. It's an open air affair, so expect some heat and some flies perhaps, but I think you'll be happy you visited.

PROS: A farmer's market with wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables
CONS: I wish they were located a little closer to where I live

My family has been going to Froberg since I was a little girl. They have always had the most wonderful produce and homemade jams and jellies. The prices are very low, especially for the quality you get. It is family owned and shopping there is just like running into old friends, no matter how long you stay away. Great produce, great prices.

An excellent place to do any shopping for produce, whether it be vegetables, fruits, or canned items. It is a small, family-owned and operated business that caters to the needs of Alvin. The prices are incredibly LOW, and shopping there always cuts out about 15-20% of our monthly grocery bill. They have the freshest items in town, and many of them are grown locally on their property. They have many different types of seasonal items, as well as a large stock of year-round items. They recently rebuilt their store and made it a much nicer facility to shop in.

PROS: Great produce selection at an excellent price!
CONS: None

Don't know where Alain T went but it couldn't have been Frobergs if he didn't see the huge signs posted at each fruit or vegetable with a price on it. Most price are less than what I pay at the grocery store, but everything is fresh and much more healthy for you than produce in the grocery. The produce lasts much longer. My doctor recommends them too - less chemicals and hormones in your food.
