5 Stars: A Family Favorite (by Diane S.)

This is one of our favorite places to eat, with or without the kids. We love the tableside guacamole, plus the salsa and fresh beans are excellent. Our kids love the sandbox. I have never had a bad meal here.

4 Stars: Why? (by Cuong T.)

This restaurant used to be right next to my house... Well, right at the shopping center near my house. It was nice having it right there, but I guess it did look kind of old. The new building looks a lot better. My favorite is Los Cucos, but this place isn't bad. You get inexpensive food that tastes great.

4 Stars: Love the new place (by Ali R.)

El Jarrito has just moved to a new location, big beautiful new restaurant. Their queso is wonderful. The food is a more authentic mexican than your average tex-mex place. The new restaurant is very loud. Don't go with a headache. Prices are good. Very busy on Fri and sat nights.

4 Stars: Authenic Mexican food (by Anita C.)

A very clean restaurant with very good food at very affordable prices. It takes a wait but now a days what else is new. It has friendly atmosphere and definitely worth the wait.

2 Stars: Poor service, OK food (by renee L.)

El Jarrito just opened a new location on HIghland Knolls Road and Mason- we visited it this weekend. Compared to Los Cucos and Las Rosas, El Jarrito fell far short. The service was TREMENDOUSLY slow, the portions small and we ended up spending much too much because everything was extra. When we ordered our Fajitas for three they brought TWO tortillas to the table- we had to wait 10 min. to get more brought and when they came, it was only TWO. We requested guac, sour cream and cheese with the meal and was told that was $2.95 extra! (most Mexican restaurants include that with the meal- esp. with fajitas) Everything we wanted was extra. And each time we had to wait an unbelievably long time to get it. The bill was way more than we had anticipated. We probably will never go back which is sad because they have a beautiful outdoor dining area.

PROS: Beautiful outdoor dining area
CONS: Slow service, small portions, everything extra
